Shopping at Craig's is an experience. A very New York City experience…read more Having previously purchased a mattress online and having to return it because I hated it, I didn't want to go through that experience again. I stopped by a few mattress shops in the city, but they were very small and many just carried the major online brands that were non-traditional mattresses (memory foam, no coils). A google search brought me to Craig's: a lot of glowing Yelp reviews, Google reviews, and a New Yorker article describing this "speakeasy" mattress shop. Given that Craig's is located right by my office, I made an appointment online. As others have mentioned, be prepared that Craig's is located on the second floor of an office building and that your appointment will be 1:1. Craig will ask you what kind of mattress you like, cut a piece of cloth for you, and place it on various mattresses as you try them. You never feel rushed or pressured. He IS chatty, so be prepared for that too. I tried many mattresses and ultimately found a mattress that I liked and placed an order (the first one that he showed me!). Fast forward to the day before delivery. I had told Craig I was moving in the morning and would need the mattress to come after noon, but when I got my delivery window it was the first one in the morning. He called the delivery company and they wanted to schedule it for the evening, but he correctly pointed out that because I was in a doorman building they might not let the delivery people up in the evening. He gave me two options: he would go meet them at my building in the morning and let them in OR he would come in the evening and help bring it up to my apartment if they wouldn't let the delivery people up. What? This is a crazy level of service. He also must have spent an hour on the phone between talking to me and the delivery company trying to figure this all out. It turned out my building was able to let them in without Craig being present, but his wilingness to go so far and beyond will not be forgotten by me!

Craig spent a lot of time with us and gave us the opportunity to try out different beds. We found a bed we liked and told him that we were going to go comparison shopping before making a decision. He advised us to go to Macy's which has the best selection. He never pressured us to buy. We did go to Macy's plus one other store but ultimately decided that Craig had the best bed for the best price. We appreciated the time he took and the no-pressure approach. We now have our new bed and are totally thrilled with it. I highly recommend Craig as he knows his stuff and gives you the time and space to comfortably come to a decision.

We had such a fantastic time visiting this location!…read more We stopped in to get some inspiration for our living room, and from the moment we walked through the doors, the experience was top-notch. We were immediately greeted by Raymond, one of the sales associates. He was incredibly professional, kind, and possessed an impressive level of knowledge about every single product in the store. Since the showroom is so large, Raymond was kind enough to give us a full tour, even showing us some elevated design options for bedroom closet spaces. When we focused on the couches, he took the time to explain the benefits of each model and encouraged us to test them out, making sure we understood all the perks of every item. It was honestly one of the best retail experiences we've ever had! A huge shout-out also goes to the store manager, Saloam, who came over while we were testing out furniture. He shared some fascinating history about the company--how Bob's started as a mattress business and expanded into the full furniture destination it is today. To top it all off, the store features a "Bob's Café," which was such a pleasant surprise! They offer complementary snacks, caffeinated and decaf coffee, and even real Hershey's ice cream. It was such a nice touch while spending a long afternoon trying out couches and mattresses. We also really appreciated how clean and well-maintained the restrooms were (a detail that doesn't go unnoticed!). We will definitely be back! Raymond took our email to keep us updated on the specific pieces we inquired about and to send over some future recommendations based on our style. We truly appreciate the excellent service and look forward to our next visit.

She made us feel comfortable right away -- never rushed us, never pressured us to buy, and truly listened to what we needed. She was extremely knowledgeable about the floor furniture and took the time to help us find pieces that would actually fit our apartment space properly. What really stood out was her honesty and recommendations. Based on her guidance, we ended up purchasing better couches than what we originally came in for, and we couldn't be happier with the decision. Shamira's expertise, patience, and genuine care made the entire buying process smooth and enjoyable. If you're shopping at this location, ask for Shamira -- huge recommendation. You'll be glad you did!

Tony is a great salesman that really knows how to connect with customers and give honest opinions about quality and longevity of furniture. He also helps you navigate the Showroom according to your budget and style. I had fun speaking with him and him allowing us to have space to roam around to check sets out ourselves without trying to sell us every piece of furniture. Bob's furniture shows you the total set price and individual pieces' price which was a much better set up than neighboring furniture stores that try to convince you to buy sets than pieces for "greater savings." The furniture store while overwhelming with the amount of furniture inside had a certain organization to it that allowed you to feel the difference between quality sets and more pricey sets. It's great they offer customers hot coffee, powder creamer, several different candy, cookies, and ice cream. The bathrooms were clean inside the building as well. I definitely recommend if you want to shop without hassle and being pressured every minute. I'll update if I decide to buy any furniture so I can speak about quality vs price.

We called Futonland, they ordered the mattress and it arrived in three days. It was amazing. The customer service person on the phone was so helpful and professional. It's as comforting as the heavenly new mattress to know people still care. Thank you, Futonland, for making sweet dreams come true. Written by an actual very happy customer.

First mattress fro Futonland was satisfactory but it was all memory foam, as these mattress was new. It did last 10 years but had it for 12 years. Otis mattress, HALEY 110 is what I dreamed about for years. The depth (8-10 inches), is for real whereas I sit or lie down while I am way above as if I had a box spring underneath the futon frame. I don't need to struggle anymore off the futon. I can't even describe what it is like to sleep on it...!!! You can't any better than the best mattress for a bed itself. The firmness and depth is so powerful, while trying to fold the mattress onto frame, I thought the mattress was another model because I couldn't get it to fold. But I folded the side which was already folded in the box which made it easier, tried the other side again and both sides folded onto futon frame. I hope my description is understood. Kept mattress on floor for 48 hours, flipped on 24 hour time period, to let the mattress expand. On the folded side in the box, I had to place weighted laundry baskets and other items on two other sides for the mattress to completely touch the floor evenly. Mission accomplished. I purchased the mattress through email communication, instead of the in-store although I live in NY. The service online was excellent service, professional and last time I bought mattress in store, I noticed phone conversation & online service was a way for their business. So near or far - you can business with them and Futonland seems to be the only real store still in business for futon mattresses or frames, etc.

This review was written in stages…read more Part 1 of the process was top-rate - the purchase. Salesman CARLOS was super flexible and accommodating. He was nice enough in store and made it clear that he would honor the sale price I was considering on the day, if I decided to make the purchase later, after the sale ended. I did, and he did. But when there was a mix-up, and the bed I wanted wasn't available after he had rung up the order (it was the last one left in the whole city!), he more than made up for it. He called me back quite late in the evening (working late to make sure his customers are satisfied) to explain the situation, and offered me a much better bed for the same amount (which, remember, was the SALE price of the much cheaper bed). So I stuck with him and gratefully accepted his offer. Thanks Carlos! Part 2 - Delivery This went smoothly as far I could tell. I had to arrange my housemate to receive it while I wasn't there. The driver called me to confirm he was on his way (well within the reasonable 3 hour window arranged for delivery), and my housemate received the bed with no problems. Part 3 - the actual bed! I have no complaints. The bed is super-comfortable and I am sleeping blissfully a month in. We had some trouble putting together the frame, but that was probably more to do with our lack of technical skills. It's stable enough now.

Absolutely the worst furniture buying experience I've ever had…read more I waited 50 days for a bedroom set that was ordered through their third-party supplier. During that time, I had to make well over 100 phone calls just to get updates because no one ever followed up with me. The excuses never ended. First, they claimed my king-size bedroom set wasn't available, even though my order clearly stated king size. Then they told me a queen-size set had arrived at the warehouse. The very next day, they changed their story again and said they no longer had the queen size either, but they had "some king-size pieces" that could be shipped in two days. Then another excuse--it was a holiday weekend, so they couldn't ship anything. Every time I called, I got a completely different story. Reaching the store associate was nearly impossible. I had to call 4-5 times just to get someone to answer, and the store's main phone line was rarely picked up. Customer service was practically nonexistent. After wasting almost two months waiting, I was left with nothing but frustration and now have to spend even more time chasing them for my refund. This company wasted my time, money, and energy. They overpromise, fail to communicate, and don't seem to know what's happening with their own inventory. If you value your time or your money, avoid this store at all costs. There are plenty of furniture stores that actually care about their customers. I will never shop here again and would never recommend it to anyone
