For years I've wanted to purchase a new mattress for our guest bedroom. Finally this summer in…read moreanticipation of occupying that room myself after scheduled knee surgery we made it a priority of getting a comfortable mattress for that room. The mattress we currently had felt something like sleeping on a concrete slab due to its extra firmness. Sleep Outfitters was extremely accommodating with my repeat visits of trying the beds that we were considering. The manager encouraged resting on the different beds. When I asked for her opinion she said beds are a matter of personal opinion and she did not want to sway my choice. She did educate us on the difference between types of mattresses (traditional, memory foam, and hybrid), She also educated us on the available frames and their features. Finally I had my choice down to just two mattresses. At that point she also informed us that purchases have a 120 day trial period and if I really couldn't decide it is best to purchase the lower cost mattress and pay the difference if we decided to change our minds. If we downgraded from the most expensive they would trade it out but not refund the difference in cost. I was pretty confident in my choice and it was a Sterns & Foster Hybrid Mattress with memory foam and coils that was soft but not too soft. When it came time to complete that sale the manager worked with us on the best price she could offer. We knew we were shopping during a sales period so we got that price. In addition since my husband works for the State she was able to apply an additional 10 percent discount. She clearly went over the warranty on the bed. Then the final stage was to schedule a delivery date. We were able to specify a date that worked for us. Delivery went very smooth. The men removed our old mattress and box springs and set up the adjustable base inside the antique bed frame that we have. Then they topped it with the hybrid bed and delivered the spill proof mattress cover. Woohoo, I am happy as can be with our purchase. It is like sleeping on a cloud. We'll be back to buy the exact same mattress for our master bedroom during the week long Black Friday Sale in November.

I'm a big fan of the Tempur-Pedic mattress, but I am forced to give them a poor rating due to one…read moreinescapable fact: A mattress is only as good as its foundation. And their foundation (box spring, whatever you want to call it) is complete crap. Our first one broke after a few months of normal use. My wife called and it was replaced under warranty. It had failed because one of the cross-members broke away from the side frame, thus causing the mattress to sag. I hoped this was a fluke, but the new replacement broke on the 3rd day, as I was simply sitting down gently on the bed. Again, the same problem - the cross-member pulled away from the frame and then broke. So I procrastinated several months, using bricks to prop up the broken cross-member...do I call it in again and suffer the same problem? Or do I fix it myself, if possible? I decided on the latter. So I carefully removed the hundred+ staples and upholstery. Then I found out just why the cross-members broke. And it wasn't due to occupant weight (we're typical Americans), but design. The frame and cross-members are both made of thin 1/2" MDF, which is softer weaker than even construction grade pine. Worse still, the cross-members are attached to the frame by one (ONE!) very short screw each! This means that all the cross-members can pivot, changing stress vectors and thus weakening the structure. Worse still, the unbelievably flimsy top sheet is only 1/4" MDF and is only attached to the cross-members by a total of 4 brad staples! If you lift the box spring the top can fall right off because the staples are not nearly strong enough to hold it. Worse still, the top sheet could strengthen the box spring if it was actually secured to the frame or cross-members, but instead the whole structure just flops about. Worse still, the lateral and longitudinal cross-members are not joined or attached to each other! They are cut to overlap along the load axis and thus have less than 1/2 the strength they should! And, surprise, surprise, this is where the breaks occurred. So I attached the cross-members to the frame rails with 2" counter-sunk wood screws, similarly attached the top sheet to the cross-members, screwed 2x6 wood blocks to the broken cross-members to strengthen them beyond the original design, and then re-upholstered the box spring. It still looks OEM intact, but so far hasn't broken. I even bounced on it a few times to make sure. There's maybe $25 in materials in the Tempur-Pedic box spring, and of course it's mass produced for efficient assembly. Adding a few screws and reinforcing the cross-member intersections would add minimally to the manufacturing cost, and vastly improve the quality of the bed. Personally I would NEVER buy a Tempur-Pedic mattress again if they insist on supplying such ridiculously under-engineered sub structure for an otherwise quality product.

My wife is a disabled veteran and they dropped a mattress off at my garage after telling me on line that it would be delivery set up and haul off. After numerous emails requesting a phone call they never would call. So I decided I mentioned I was considering canceling the order due to the poor customer service. My wife suggested after reading the emails to just upgrade the mattress and before I could even do that, I receive an email that my order was waiting for a pick up date and there would be restocking fees. So they didn't care that my experience was bad and I had been given misleading information. I finally get a line to speak with a live person and she was very apologetic and I explained my issue. Hours later I receive a email from Mathew in customer service. This guy had no clue what my issue was but his resolution was to tell me no to numerous things I never asked for. Tempur-Sealy does not care about their customers. They only care about getting your money and that's it. I will never by from them again. I have been a customer for a long time and at on point sold their mattresses religiously.

To make a long story long.... lol…read more We bought our first home out of state (ca moving to ky). Decided to sell all big furntiture to help with moving costs and just buy new when we got to ky to go with the new home. Officially landed in ky august 3 and had gone to this store august 5th hoping to walk out with furniture. Found a bed frame and sectional/ ottoman. Was told about the back order due to covid. We get it every furniture place took a massive hit to production but was informed itd be begining of november. Fine. We need furniture, we got the credit approved through then already so we proceeded all while being told it be here by thanksgiving. Guess what... still not here and its jan 6th of a new year. I called them begining of nov for an order update, and was told at that point 4-6 weeks, were nearing the end of those additional 6 weeks. Called them today before the review and was then inform 9-11 additional weeks. YIKES If yall dont have furniture in stock, why keep selling? Catch up with all the backorder cause this is ridiculous. We contemplated several times cancelling and just ordering from somewhere else, or preferably walking out with furniture and not having to order, but as i stated the credit was ran and already billed to ashley and after the move my credit doesnt need anymore hits right now. Once i get my furniture ill update my stars to include how that itself is. Also noting, its not the stores fault this is regarding Ashley as a whole not anyone or this location specifically. Corprate needs to get there stuff together.

I will say, that several years ago they were much more pushy. Now, they're not pushy at all. When we finally decided to pull the trigger and get a mattress set that costs more than most people's first car, our sales person was rather new. Even at the end of the transaction, she didn't mention that the bed didn't come with a remote. That sounds minute, especially since you can make all of the same adjustments via the app, but only one person can have the app access. So, if I have the app and I'm not there, that causes a problems for the other person at home. It just so happened that it was delivered when I wasn't home, so until I got home from a business trip, it was not usable other than the one setting. Delivery is very pricey, but the setup process is very detailed, considering that all of the components come boxed up. Generally the set up fits right into your bed frame, but the adjustable head requires a large gap away from the headboard. After the initial set up, it was even further from my headboard than necessary. They did come back out and readjusted it, but at first they wanted to charge an additional fee... um, no! I assume a lot of people, or more people than usual, purchased these beds over the holidays, because they're running this bogus "sale" 30% off bedding. Since the sheets run at almost as much as a cheap brand mattress, I've been hesitant to purchase them, and have waited until the sale. Why are the prices of the sheets now MORE than before the holidays, BEFORE the 30% off of bedding sale?! Because of the adjustable head/flex top, you really need the customized sheets. I even have designer brand, deep pocket sheets and those wind up falling off. I have to break down and get those custom sheets! I do love my bed, and everything about it though. After several months, I still haven't "found" my number yet, so I set it on a different number (soft/firmness) every night. The adjustable head has also helped with some health/reflux issues that I have. Overall, I'd recommend a Sleep Number to anyone, just don't be fooled by their annoying "sales" and price the one you want. Holidays are the best sale times, wait for it.

I bought two mattresses that were very nice and, thankfully, on clearance. The mattresses alone were worth the purchase. For less than half price each, I got two fantastic Sealy mattresses. Not a single regret about the furniture I bought. The saleswoman was very eager to make the sale - which, honestly, I figured, because I'm sure they work on commission. And as we talked, I made it clear that the furniture was for a household of two disabled people. She assured me that the delivery guys would take care of things. Fast-forward to delivery day. The furniture arrives at the beginning of the delivery window they had told me - very nice and prompt. The guys come in to confirm where we want things, but when they see that the bed is still standing, they tell me that no, their job is delivery, not disassembly. They aren't going to be able to move the old furniture to make room for the new. I need to make it clear that I don't blame them. They're probably under some insurance caveats about accidental destruction of property and so forth. I do, however, blame the saleswoman. She assured me that this would be taken care of. Obviously, it wasn't, and if I wanted my *wheelchair-bound* mother to get to her bedroom, the bathroom, or her medications, I had to go against doctor's orders about strain and lifting to disassemble the old bed. Otherwise, I'd still have pieces of a bed and two mattresses in the middle of my living room, meaning none of my house would be accessible. I was running on adrenaline when I moved what I could. Mom's bed and both mattresses were installed, and it's a good thing I have this nice, new mattress, because my doctor now has me on two weeks of bed rest, extra medications, and another round of physical therapy to try to keep this from making my disability worse. I called their customer service center and was approved for a 5% refund of my purchase, or a store gift card for an amount I didn't even wait to hear. I don't have a reason to go to this store again. It's up to you if you think you can risk something like this for that sort of refund. The furniture itself is fine. Some of the staff, however, are willing to lie to make their sales. If you're able-bodied, this shouldn't really be a problem for you. If you're not, well... Good luck.

The staff at this particular location was very nice and helpful when we ordered a bedroom set, kitchen table and chairs, and coffee table way back in July. Even after the sales associated wrote our order wrong it was fixed and they barely charged extra for the difference. The problems came after that, we were told it would take longer than usual for delivery due to covid. After 6 weeks we had not heard a word about our delivery, I sat on hold for 45 minutes with their customer service team to tell me they were waiting on the kitchen table and chairs. The next day the sales associate called to inform me that they only thing they were waiting on was the mattress and that they could do a partial delivery (Now I'm confused) I told her the customer service told me a different status, she was supposed to call me back with the answer (Its been 3 weeks now) I agreed to partial delivery, and it was set up for the following Wednesday, On Monday I received a email and text confirming the delivery of ALL items. On Tuesday I received a phone call explaining that my mattress was on back order and it would be another 4 weeks before it could be in now. So I went to the store and spoke to the sales manager who said it was odd that the mattress was holding up an order, then proceeded to explain that the warehouse would take from someone's order that wasn't complete to complete another persons order faster regardless of the order date. (WHY WOULD YOU TELL A CUSTOMER THAT?) He then stated that he would try to steal someone else's mattress for me.... Then comes Delivery Day! The delivery people showed up early! A+ for effort, they then explained that the lamps for my LED headboard were missing and would come at a later date. (I'm confused) I noticed after they sat the coffee table down it had a scratch on the edge of it, the took pictures and said someone would call me within the hour from the warehouse (Its been 2 weeks no one called) After they left I moved the bed frame since they didn't center it on the wall and did not push it all the way against the wall either.. SUPRISE! the LED for the headboard is there, they just didn't plug it in...OH they didn't put the hard ware on the end tables! OH THERE ARE SCRATCHES ALL OVER THE HEADBOARD AND FOOTBOARD! So I called the store, the referred me to the customer service line, I had to sit on hold for another 40 minutes... At this point I'm steamed I did not just pay $4500 for scratched furniture.. All they can do is schedule a technician to come up on look at it... It took 2 days for the tech service to call and schedule a time (Which is 2 weeks away) to come out and look at this mess.. We cancelled the mattress since it was going to be another month, went to Sleep Outfitters found a comparable mattress and it was there in less than 72 hours. and $100 cheaper All they did was paint the scratches and you can still see where the damage was done.. He did order 2 new drawers since they couldn't be fixed. (Who knows when they will comes in) I'm not happy, I did not spend this much money for damaged furniture. It's a shame that I now have a line of credit that won't ever be used. I won't order from Ashley again.
