Matt was very responsive to my 1 and 100 questions. He came on time and explained all of my options. I had him rekey my front door, replace a smart keypad and review my ancient front door lock. I have been wanting to replace my front door system, and he explained in detail why I should not and how I could improve the stability of my door. I have asked the same question to other locksmiths, and they usually recommend replacing the whole lock system. We were in need of a security upgrade to our gate. I called around asking for quotes and Matthew had the cheapest options by far. He installed a knob with a double deadbolt and did the welding of the lockbox onto our existing gate. It looks so much better than the rusty useless spring action lever we had before. We feel a lot more secure knowing that you can't open the gate unless you have the key. We can lock our kids in the patio to play without worrying that they'll escape and we can lock unwanted visitors out. Not only did he go above and beyond in his service for us, but a neighbor friend accidentally locked herself out of her house while he was here working and he let her back in her house free of charge. It was so nice of him and she really was grateful to not have to track down her sister at work to get their spare key. Overall Matt seems like a great guy, very personable and nice. I had a broken pool gate lock. Matt was flexible in setting up the time to come over, arrived on time, fixed the lock, and charged me a flat rate, which was exactly what he quoted me. He did say if the lock was broken and needed replacing, the cost would be different but that's understandable and he told me that upfront. That was everything I wanted right there. Then he went above and beyond by fixing the gate itself, which was sagging, and didn't charge extra for that. Finally, he gave me some advice on that pool gate lock for the future and sent me info about a deadbolt with app access for a house door. He didn't try to sell me the lock and uncharge me. Just gave me the info including where I could buy it myself and said if I did, he could install it for me. I am very pleased with his service and will use him again for any lock needs I have. This locksmith texts me at 8:30pm two nights ago to offer a deal on installing two residential locks. I accept his offer. The night before the job will be done, I text him at 9:15pm asking a question if he will have long screws for the strike plate or if I need to buy them before he arrives. He immediately cancels the job because of the time I sent the text. I actually didn't think he'd even see the note before the next morning. Frankly, I think he was just looking for an excuse to cancel the job because on second thought, he didn't like the deal he offered me which was below his standard rates. In any case, I believe it was unprofessional to cancel the job. If you were considering using this service, I would be cautious of him not honoring his committments. read more
