On Jan. 31, 2022, at 3:35 p.m. I called and spoke to Matthew Jerkins. I called his business number listed on his website. 760-259-1934. He answered the phone in a very unprofessional, low energy manner. I was so surprised with the way he answered his phone I actually asked him if I had the right number. He verified that I had the right number and that he was a realtor. I then identified myself, explaining that I'm a general contractor wanting to build a spec. home on one of my lots in Apple Valley. Suddenly his professionalism kicked in and he began to tell me how qualified he was. I explained to Matthew that I am a CA General contractor currently living in Northern California. My plan is to return to S. California to build a spec. home on one of my Apple Valley lots. I wanted to know what the current market was like for a 1925 square foot home in Apple Valley. I explained to Matthew that I purchased that lot in 2008 and after the housing market crash in 2009 I simply placed a for sale by owner sign on the lot and decided to either sell the lot or build on the lot when the housing market improved. Now I'm ready to build a house on that lot and I will be in need of a good realtor to market and sell my spec. home as I build it. Mathew told me he was close by to my lot and that he would drive out to my lot and then he would call me back while he was at my lot. He told me he would be able to look up the other houses I have built in Apple Valley and that with that data he could give me a good idea of what my spec. home would sell for. That sounded good to me. However, Matthew never called me back. I waited a few hours and called him again and left him a message asking why he didn't call me back. It has been 8 days since then and he has never called me back. My for sale by owner sign is on the lot with my phone number and I left him a message with my phone number. He never called me back. NOT A VERY PROFFESSIONAL REALTOR!!! I can only guess why he didn't call me back, and my guess is that he saw my "For sale by Owner sign" and figured I was wasting his time. That "For Sale by Owner" sign has been on that lot for 13 years and it was placed there to see if anyone was interested in purchasing the lot. Now I'm ready to build a house on that lot and I need a realtor. I explained that to Matthew. Whatever his reason is for not calling me back is irrelevant. What is relevant is that a decent realtor would have called me back and at least told me that he was not interested in being my realtor. Needless to say, I'm still in need of a good realtor. My previous realtor that I had there in Apple Valley is no longer a realtor. read more

Matt is the real deal, he could sell sand to a Saudi or water to a whale. Rolled up to our house in his freedom machine, stepped inside, smelled the air, glanced at my vacuum lines ( they are pretty majestic) gave me this look, nodded at me and said "you want 250k?" my jaw hit the floor, my wifes eyes turned to dollar signs, the baby stopped crying and the cat fainted. (We werent expecting anything more than 230). next thing you know we had a top notch camera man in our house and ill tell you what he got the money shots because 24hrs later our house was the headline of every listing site and the phone calls were off the hook And then.......like 36 hours later....... Dictator Newsom..... i mean our governor. locked EVERYTHING down. That is where MATT Shined. we couldnt have showings or any of that for a while because house sales werent "Essential" but he persisted. And broke every record known to man for online viewings of this house. and when things opened up. it was like throwing chum to sharks. Anywho, we opened up escrow for........ even more than asking......Yup. i know.... hes that good. Buyers agent went MIA for a while and caused us some headaches. nothing of which was Matt's fault. but we got it closed! Onto the best part......... This dude got us into a house better than anything we had even dreamed of. I got a full detached shop to hide and drink white claws in, my wife got a pool, and a office, and 2300sqft, and mudroom, and huge kitchen, and nursery, and game room , the baby got solar panels, the cat got a tree (no joke we havent had a single tree at our last 2 houses) and the dogs got an air conditioned studio garage. IN OUR FREAKING BUDGET!...Not one cent over budget... that doesnt happen for people like us. what did we do to deserve these luxuries......
