Dr Eidem tore my colon during a routine colonoscopy. I ended up in the hospital for 10 days with nothing by mouth, and IV antibiotics. I was told by Dr Eidem that I had 4-5 polyps he had to remove. Three years later I got up the courage to have another colonoscopy as requested by my new doctor. My new doctor informed me after the colonoscopy was over that he found no evidence of polyps ever in my colon. I thought I was going to die after my colonoscopy with Dr Eidem. It took over a year to recover. Please, if you value your health, do not use Dr Eidem. This app made me give him a star, otherwise I wouldn't have. read more

When I found Dr Eidem on Yelp, I felt really good about making the appointment, as he has awesome reviews from his patients... I had to make my first appointment with his physician's assistant as he is so popular, he's booked for months. So I saw his PA and she was great! She had already read my history and all about what was going on with me! It was so nice seeing someone that was on top of my medical concerns. She said I needed more tests and that Dr Eidem would be the one to perform any additional tests/scopes. So I scheduled an Endoscopy for the following Friday. When I arrived at the clinic everyone was very sweet. When I finally got to meet Dr. Eidem, he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail about what he was going to do and how he was going to take care if it. He allowed me to ask questions and I didn't feel rushed at all, he's very patient and caring. When he performed the scope he was very thorough and took samples of anything he thought MAY be a problem, but thought everything was great. He's just that thorough that he sends in samples to be sure everything really is ok. So Dr Eidem is great! If you need a Gastroenterologist in the Plano area, he is your man! read more

Dr. Eidem's PA, Deborah Hudson, was very thorough and had great bed side manor during my GI consult. Dr. Eidem also did a thorough and painless Colonoscopy and Endoscopy and also had a very nice bed side manor. Once I got back to the area for prep and procedure, the experience was pleasant with the nursing staff and Dr. Eidem and Anesthesiologist. However, my interactions with the front office of his practice were not desirable. They often seemed "put out", irritated and less than congenial. Dr. Eidem's scheduler Gina was also condescending and less than helpful in most of my interactions. She could use a dose of the Dr.'s bed side manor. My colonoscopy was scheduled at Digestive Health Center (across the street from Dr. Eidem's office) for 11am. I did not go back to prep until 11:15 and procedure did not take place until @12:30. This was a bit of an inconvenience as my sister had taken off 1/2 day of work to bring me and drive me home. Because of the delay, she had to take off a full day of work. A simple phone call to let me know the Dr. was running late would have gone a long way. They told me the procedure would take no more than an hour; so, I planned with my ride accordingly. While waiting in the waiting room for my procedure, I called the office to inquire about the delay. Gina (scheduler) abruptly and impatiently told me that waiting was sometimes "part of it" and offered nothing else. Her attitude was basically that I should feel grateful that he was doing the procedure; which was $2500. This did not sit well with me as their office is very adamant about charging late fees for apptmts and reschedules within 24hrs. What if the Dr. is running late? Seems like a double standard. It is also near impossible to get ahold of anyone in the office to schedule appointments or to get information. You are eternally lost in an automated system. I hope the practice takes this feedback and makes some adjustments to support staff attitudes and over-all congeniality as they are customer facing and can/ will affect the patient experience. My husband and I both own our own business and would want to know if this was happening. This 2 star review could have been avoided if the staff would have been intentional about creating a positive patient experience. read more

The woman who answers patient calls is extremely rude and unprofessional. If patients are calling the office with concerns about their physical health, it is DISTASTEFUL to encounter someone with such an aggressive approach without taking a moment to hear the patient's concerns/reason for calling. Please reevaluate your training procedures regarding your office's customer service experience. read more

A wonderful experience! Dr. Eidem was very compassionate and professional during my appointments. They were via telehealth due to COVID but I did not feel rushed at all. He was a great listener and immediately started working on a prognosis. He would call me after hours just to let me know about test results! In response to your comment: To label this situation simply as "frustrating" is insulting and further proves your lack of accountability and care about your patients. In addition, Covid had nothing to do with you or your staff picking up the phone, doing your due diligence as an office, and finding out if the facility would allow my procedures with the conditions I was having. That is either laziness or incompetence by you, Dr. Eidem, or your staff. I reached out to your office after this incident to try and right this wrong and they were dismissive and offered no help. Just posted this on Google and wanted to put it out here as well: I received such excellent care while I was a patient of Dr. Eidem's. He took his time with each appointment and really listened to everything I had to say, even in the moments when I had trouble verbalizing exactly how I felt. He took plenty of notes, performed thorough exams, and discussed with me different options based on the issues that I had. I really felt cared for and listened to, and could tell right away that he is just a genuinely nice doctor. That is so important to me! I felt like we were working as a team to help me feel better. Not to mention that I had an upper endoscopy done and he did a great job with that as well. I highly recommend him! And just as a side note, his front desk receptionist is lovely as well! read more

I actually yelped Dr. Eidem before scheduling an apt with him. His staff is great and he was super great as well! Very personable and told me he backs the blue like me!!! My apt with him, in office, was about 30 minutes maybe? I really appreciated him not jerking me around and trying to get more money out of me. He gave me my options and then his opinion and I agreed. I had my endoscopy last Friday; the procedure and his nurses were great! I arrived at the Endoscopy Center at 12:15, went back at 12:30 - probably waited in my room for my turn for 20-30 min and then I was out by 1:40-2:00ish. 10-15 days for results but I have full confidence in Dr. Eidem- he's GREAT!!! This was my first procedure; everyone was very informative and left me with no questions before I went under. I cannot compliment Dr. Eidem and his staff enough! When I consulted with him about my colonoscopy and endoscopy, he was very thorough with his questions. I felt completely comfortable with him doing my procedures. He had performed my husband's endoscopy the year before and found he had cancer of the esophagus. The physicians at MD Anderson commented that they were very surprised he found the cancer as it was so small. He is a very kind man and has a very comforting bedside manner. I would highly recommend him and the Preston Crossing Endoscopy Center. I dislike being put to sleep for procedures but was completely confident with this group....especially Dr. Eidem. read more

Well, I can't see myself writing a review for a colonoscopy BUT this experience was truly uneventful and Dr. Eidem had me out of the waiting area and out the door in less than 2 hours, 1 of which I was in "dreamland"! Great experience. No dilly dallying. You walk in, fill out a few lines of paperwork and in you go. Pet peeve of mine is going to a doctor's appointment and you end up waiting for up to an hour to see the doctor. Not here. So efficient. Dr. Eidem is friendly and outgoing. Staff is very efficient. I wasn't able to book an appointment with Dr. Eidem so I made an appointment with his PA, Debra Hudson. She listened to my case for a few minutes before recommending a colonoscopy and medication for me to take FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I'm 25 years old - I don't need either of those and I definitely do not need to be on medication for the rest of my life. I'm open to doing either of those if it meant finding (or at least ATTEMPTING to find) a long-term solution to my symptoms but she didn't show any interest in helping me do so. She wasn't interested in finding the root cause of my symptoms and the only solution she offered to me was to take medication for the rest of my life. It is irresponsible for doctors to only offer medication as a solution to suppress symptoms rather than consider the cause and better/long-term solutions. I had to pay out of pocket for this useless appointment and it was a huge waste of money, time, and effort. Greatly disappointed and would not recommend to anyone. read more

No one likes having to get a colonoscopy but Dr. Eidem and his staff were excellent. Everyone was polite and answered all my questions. I had not seen Dr. Eidem prior to this procedure, but he was engaging and professional. As I was laying on the gurney and they were prepping me for the procedure, I asked when they would start the anesthesia. They said we were already done! No awareness or discomfort at all. This was my 2nd colonoscopy with Dr. Eidem. He and his staff are very professional but also treat you will great warmth and empathy. Dr. Eidem sees me for other issues besides my colonoscopy and I have always found him to be wonderful. He explains fully what he sees or what procedures need to be done and what you can expect. He comes in the recovery area to tell you what he saw or didn't see on your colonoscopy and his staff makes a follow up appointment with you to discuss it in more detail with him.
