I have a parent who suffered needlessly for over a year under Dr. Maddala's care. I can't count the endless upper endoscopies, deep enteroscopies, and colonoscopies my parent endured under this doctor. Even a capsule endoscopy failed to aid this doctor in diagnosing an ailment which--while not particularly common--is very familiar to those specializing in pathologies of the GI tract. It wasn't until my parent was hospitalized and under the care of a different GI specialist that a diagnosis was finally rendered and the problem properly treated, providing my parent with enormous relief. The hospital GI specialist had fewer years of experience, yet was able to figure out in a few hours the problem my parent had that eluded Dr. Maddala for well over a year. Happily, the hospital GI doctor--who is genuinely caring and on top of her game--is now my parent's new GI specialist. Under this new doctor, my parent's health has shown remarkable improvement, and appointments with this GI doctor are looked-forward-to. Dr. Maddala's clinical stance towards my parent's condition, by contrast, was one of non-urgency & disinterest which bordered on indifference. This is not to say Dr. Maddala won't work for you, but, in my parent's case, we weren't impressed. read more

I did not meet Dr Maddala until the day of my procedure, but her NP was very nice, easy to understand and very helpful. Unfortunately, Dr. Maddala no longer has the McKinney location. I transferred to another in the TDDC group, Dr. Sony Mathews, I am so happy with my new caregiver. I see him at the McKinney Medical Village on Eldorado. He has a wonderful, kind, friendly staff and very comfortable office. read more

Had a procedure with Dr Maddala at the Allen facility today. She was very efficient but still listened to all my history and concerns without rushing me or making me feel like a burden. The staff at the OP facility at Allen also took great care of me. Very thankful for the CRNA Anastasia for explaining all the options when I was really scared. read more

My experience with this office has been disappointing, as well. I was referred to Dr. Maddala by my PCP, Dr. Urooj Mansoor (who provides excellent care) due to my having contracted C. Dif when in the hospital for acute colitis. It was 3 months before they scheduled me in for 2 week follow up. At one point, I was told to go to the emergency room because I was still a symptomatic (well past the anticipated recovery time). When my appointment time finally came, I met with Dr. Maddala for a brief time and she had me scheduled for a (long overdue) colonoscopy. I requested an endoscopy to check the status of a hiatal hernia as I was having some stomach issues that I felt might be related to the hernia. She agreed. She did the colonoscopy and endoscopy (I never saw her while conscious). Apparently she followed up with my husband although he said he was struggling to hear her and ultimately gave up trying. (???) I have been back to her office once and saw Blessy John. She seemed rushed, disinterested and very 'matter of fact'. I have tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Maddala several times since the colonoscopy/endoscopy to discuss some concerns, but apparently the only one that is ever scheduled, or available, is Blessy John, her assistant (she may be a nurse practitioner). The medicine that Dr. Maddala via Blessy John prescribed was Pantoprazole. When I take this Rx it burns my stomach a bit. There has been no discussion about the fact that a significant side-effect of this medication is C. Diff and how that translates to the severe case that I recently battled. In the meantime, I am experiencing dark black stools indicative of significant internal bleeding and cannot get in to see my ACTUAL gastroenterologist, Dr. Maddala until mid-August (BUT ONLY IF I STRONGLY INSIST) !! Today is June 15, 2024. It has become apparent to me that I don't actually have a gastroenterologist (who I have only met one time for about 15 minutes)! My previous Gastroenterologist was exceptional. read more

I saw Dr Maddala today for a routine colonoscopy. This was my first time visiting her practice and I was extremely impressed with my experience. The person at the front desk (I forgot her name) was very friendly and efficient. Karen, the nurse who accompanied me through all the preparation was personable, professional and proficient. Her demeanor would put anyone at ease. Amber the anesthesiologist was the best ever and I've had many (over 15). Besides being excellent at her job, she was funny and I enjoyed joking around with her. Even though I only talked to her for a few minutes, Dr. Maddala was great too. I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Maddala's office. I was referred to her by a physician that was working at Legacy ER. I called on Monday and they got me in that Thursday. I saw Dr. Maddala's PA, Sissy and she was wonderful. I was very nervous from the diagnosis I received over the weekend and I had a lot of questions. Sissy spent so much time with me explaining the diagnosis and giving me all the details I needed. I never felt rushed or felt like I was asking dumb questions. She was very through with me and really eased my mind. This referral was a blessing to me because I feel like I am in the best hands. I had wonderful experience from the first phone call, checking in with the sweet front office and scheduling future appointments and procedures with the nurse. One of the worst experiences with the staff, practitioner, scheduling etc. I first called as I was having some issues with vomiting, nausea, gagging, lack of being able to have a BM. The first appointment was with Blessy John (Physician Assistant) she was very short and matter of fact, didn't even listen to my concerns. The only thing she tells me is that I need to have an Endoscopy/Colonoscopy. That was scheduled 2 month out but I was able to fill a cancellation and have the procedure done sooner. The prep was ridiculously light. Simply Miralax and Dulcolax. I would have expected with my symptoms and being diabetic they would have seen a need for better prep. Surprise, surprise I was not clear enough to have the colonoscopy done. Scheduled for a new one and this time was actually given a RX for the prep. The new colonoscopy was almost 3 months later (too long of a wait). I got worse to the point I had to do a LOA from work. At the beginning, Sally was easy to work with. Round 2, you couldn't reach her for nothing! Left 9 messages over a 6 business day period no call back. I finally gave up and found a surgeon that would do the colonoscopy much sooner. He said he would share the findings with my gastroenterologist. The surgeon actually met with me, listened to concerns and gave me some ideas of what he would be looking for. The day of the colonoscopy, I had a virtual appointment with Blessy. Their website even clarifies that all appointments are virtual. I called the next day to see what happened and was told it was supposed to be in person. There was NO indication of that prior. I scheduled a new appointment. At that time, I let either Sally or the receptionist know that I would have paperwork for my LOA that needed to be filled out. I was told that would not be a problem. I drove from Plano to Prosper for a in person visit so the paperwork could be done. Without that need, it could have easily been virtual. While at the appointment, Blessy was very short, kept interrupting me and then argued that the office will not do any paperwork. She even went to the extreme of going to Sally to see if she remembered the conversation. At some point, it just doesn't matter. If not willing, it's not gonna happen. Thankfully, the surgeon that did the procedure successfully was willing to do the paperwork. By the way, there was no major physical issue. It was a complication with one of my prescriptions (Ozempic). I feel if I had been treated properly from the beginning and listened to I could have had relief a lot sooner. I never even saw the doctor. My introduction was her behind a screen right before getting the camera crammed in me. The wait once in the office was minimal. Bottom line--keep looking, a 15-30 minute wait in the office would have been worth it to get a caring medical staff. read more

She clearly has to much going on and acts annoyed with clients. I have seen her for years and just kept going back out of convenience but after the last appointment I will never see her again. 45 waiting after she rescheduled 3 times and then came in rushing through appointment and talking so fast I barely kept up. I love the front desk staff but unfortunately can't and won't go to a Dr. that clearly doesn't care or have time to explain things to me. read more
