Got the colonoscopy done and am…read morenow receiving bill after bill; even though the provider themselves are in-network with my insurance apparently they decided to schedule the procedure somewhere OUT of network, and not only that facility but also the anesthesiologist and assisting provider for that day are all changing insane bills because of this. It was never discussed that she would be using an out-of-network provider fees for this procedure, and never would have done the colonoscopy with her had I known everything was going to be charged out of network. Other than the billing issues, this Dr didn't seem concerned with getting to the actual root of the problem and just expected me to take laxities the rest of my life, which I'm not about to do. From start to finish, would not recommend.

Even a capsule endoscopy failed to aid this doctor in diagnosing an ailment which--while not particularly common--is very familiar to those specializing in pathologies of the GI tract. It wasn't until my parent was hospitalized and under the care of a different GI specialist that a diagnosis was finally rendered and the problem properly treated, providing my parent with enormous relief. The hospital GI specialist had fewer years of experience, yet was able to figure out in a few hours the problem my parent had that eluded Dr. Maddala for well over a year. Happily, the hospital GI doctor--who is genuinely caring and on top of her game--is now my parent's new GI specialist. Under this new doctor, my parent's health has shown remarkable improvement, and appointments with this GI doctor are looked-forward-to. Dr. Maddala's clinical stance towards my parent's condition, by contrast, was one of non-urgency & disinterest which bordered on indifference. This is not to say Dr. Maddala won't work for you, but, in my parent's case, we weren't impressed.

I decided to go back to Dr. Alloju regardless the distance, would have a friend drive me, for treatment and help, but he was upset that I went to see someone else; disregarding the fact that I am disabled and unable to drive long distances, and he REFUSED to see me! After weeks of trying to…read moreconfirm my appointment, calling back immediately after missed calls, leaving multiple voicemail messages, and dealing with their answering service, I never once got a proper call back from the actual office. Every time I returned their calls, it went straight to voicemail again. Today, just days before my appointment (which is on Monday), I was told it had been canceled. No notice. No explanation. Nothing. This is especially unacceptable because this appointment was scheduled urgently by both my PCP and cardiologist, and I already arranged to take time off work. Their lack of communication has real consequences for patients. The front desk experience, particularly with Emily, was extremely unhelpful. The customer service culture here feels dismissive and disorganized. After this experience, the 2.3-star rating makes perfect sense. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you need a provider who actually respects patients' time and health.
