Not personable and it felt like they just wanted to milk my insurance. Never had an office visit (everything via telehealth) yet they provided a diagnosis of what they "thought" might be the issue. Prescribed medication that my insurance wouldn't cover and then wouldn't return my call nor my pharmacist's call for an alternative prescription. read more

I cannot talk about his services but this review is on this scheduling services. They offer an online form and your data goes to a scheduler. Sounds great but if you don't pickup the call then you cannot schedule an appointment. You call the scheduler back and you go right to voicemail. The voicemail says they may not return calls until next day. I played phone tag all week with the scheduler and I'm done. You cannot claim COVID causes a scheduler to be on the phone all day and not return calls! This is just poor service! read more

Dr Brown seems nice, as I've only seen for a colonoscopy, and I do like his PA. Office staff is horrible. Can't reach live person for appointments or information. I waited for a week for scan results to be told that they don't have them. Results were sent same day as the test. I left several voice mails and message on portal, still no results. Finally stopped at the office to get results. MA rudely told me that "I don't have voicemails from you or your results". Next up the office mgr.. No test results & can't reach facility where scan was done. After escorting me to exam room, she told me they had problems with a recently "let go" MA and many problems had occurred. Next she admitted to phone problems as to why they did not have my results. The staff seemed to blame me for their lack of responses as well as their lack of trying to locate the results. Not one time was I offered an apology! Finally got the results which were then to be sent to my primary care physician. Guess what? They were never sent. I had to hand deliver them! Doctors are great .... front desk lady named Kamber is rude as you know what. She's got an attitude and extremely rude to patients. Every response is a sarcastic and belittling response "how do you not know where you went - that's crazy are you an adult or not?" Kamber needs Jesus or something - dr. It is impossible to make an appointment here. There is someone who picks up but then transfers you to a scheduler. That person is hard to reach and if you miss the call it's impossible to get a hold of them again. I can't rate the doctor, but scheduling a simple appointment is poorly managed here. I have to say this is no way to run a business if your not able to schedule an appointment and if your office staff is inaccessible. Other doctors are much more easy to reach and a much better administration process, but if this is the way to treat new patients no thank you. Please organize your business so that appointments can be handled online with much more ease and maybe I can get medical care. Until then hell no, if I to spend time to call your staff that is not attentive and being transferred to a voicemail is very unprofessional. read more

I have had Ulcerative Colitis for about 10 years since I was 24. In that time I've had so many gastroenterologists due to moves and trying to find the best service that I could for my condition. Being new to the area, I did my research and chose Dr. Brown based on other glowing reviews. I've only seen him for the few months that I've been here but so far everything has been awesome. They've been on top of my remicade infusions and my recent colonoscopy was probably the easiest I've ever had both in prep and procedure. The few times I've seen Dr. Brown have been really comforting. He's really down to earth and cares about making you feel better. It feels like talking to a friend about your issues. He is currently helping me with some symptoms I've been dealing with that other doctors have brushed off and acted like it was nothing to the point that I haven't even brought it up in the past due to thinking there's nothing that could be done. Dr. Brown however listened intently and wanted to get to the root cause of the issues versus just treating the symptoms. While it's still early times all I can say is so far I've felt super comfortable under his care and have renewed faith that I can take care of some issues I thought were otherwise untreatable. read more

Dr. Brown, his PA Megan, Diana his MA and the rest of his staff are a wonderful, caring 5 Star team and I would recommend him to anyone with digestive issues. Dr. Brown takes his time, listens attentively and doesn't make you feel hurried. After suffering with digestive issues for many years he was able to make a diagnosis which set me on the path to healing. As a follow up after having an endoscopy I was able to do a virtual visit online with Dr. Brown to go over my diagnosis, test results and answer any questions I had. The virtual visit was easy to set up and I was even able to have my husband on speaker phone so that he could ask questions too. We're doing another virtual checkup in a few months and I'm so glad to be able to do this from the comfort of my home. It was such a convenient way to have access to my doctor and I applaud him for utilizing this high tech solution! read more

This is review about the appointment/billing - never got a chance to meet Dr. Brown. I cannot figure out the the appointment booking at this place. I went for my physical to my primary care physician who referred me for a screening colonoscopy since I am above 50. When I booked the appointment I was asked whether I am taking any medication. I responded by telling that I am having diarrhea but I would like to book an appointment for routine colonoscopy. I was told to meet the doctors assistant before they will give me colonoscopy appointment and then I was told that they will bill me for diagnostics instead of screening. My diarrhea condition is gone (since it was infection and my PCP treated it) but somehow Dr. Brown's office still wants to put me for diagnostics not screening. Probably (and this is just a speculation) diagnostics rates are higher than screening rates but I still think that my PCP should make a decision about whether it is screening or diagnostics (my paperwork from PCP shows the screening (code of Z1211) for testing (44388-Colonscopy). I was referred to this place for screening, not for diagnostics and , for whatever reason, they want to bill me for diagnostics. Make sure that this place puts proper code while making insurance claims else you will end up paying more from your pocket. read more

I recently visited Dr. Brown's office and I was pleasantly surprised. I usually feel very uncomfortable with doctors and have had many poor experiences in the past. When I went to Digestive Health Associates of Texas, the woman at the front desk was nice and helpful. The nurse who took me back was extremely friendly and welcoming. Once I saw Dr. Brown, I was immediately at ease because I could tell that he was listening with genuine concern. We had a conversation and I was able to address the issues I have been having. I was sent to have blood drawn for testing, and the woman who took my blood was kind and friendly. Everyone I spoke to all the way to the end of checking out was very nice and helpful. read more

I came in because I was having severe stomach pain. I had been to my pcp a total of 7 times because of it and they concluded that I should see a Dr. Brown so I made an appointment in October for December 11 which was irritating enough. When I got there, the woman at the front desk was rude even after my attempts to be nice to her. Then after my 45 minute wait in the main lobby, and 20 minutes waiting in the room, Brown came in and talked to me for about 15 minutes total which I felt was long enough. I had already had another opinion by this point and while Brown was right about part of it (simple bacterial problems) he then had me do a colonoscopy and endoscopy which wasn't really necessary, but I did it anyway just to make sure I didn't have anything more serious going on and my deductible for the year was met so it didn't cost anything. It was when I arrived at the colonoscopy center that I was extremely disappointed. Every nurse but mine was rude. They all talked badly about other nurses, Brown himself talked badly about a nurse right in front of me and laughed about it. When moved into the procedure room it was obvious that he didn't take it seriously. Before being put under anesthesia, he was on the phone with Apple about getting his phone fixed. When I succumbed to the anesthesia, he was STILL on the phone. He is very unprofessional and extremely full of himself. I do not recommend if you want to feel like your doctor actually cares about getting you better instead of paying his sports car. read more

As an aircraft quality control inspector for a major Airline, I did my research on the good gastrointestinal specialists in the N. Texas area, and after looking at several YouTube videos on colonoscopy procedures and prep (look for Dr Kenneth Brown Jr.) I contacted him via you tube. He replied, and gave me some more info. How cool is that? Dr. Brown and his staff were exceptional in their attention to detail. A colonoscopy is a straightforward, and routine procedure that everyone should have- you have no excuse not to, as most insurance companies regard this as preventative maintenance, and prevents polyps from turning into cancer. Folks, it is a completely preventable disease, and you will be in most capable hands when you see Dr. Brown and his assistants. It went like this; Filled out paperwork, brought back, took questionnaire, administered an IV by an awesome nurse, checked on constantly, rolled back into the procedure room, where I met an awesome assistant. When I asked how she was doing, she said, "great- I'm saving lives!" I instantly loved her! We chatted a little bit , and Dr. Brown came in. Went through history, exchanged pleasantries, and off to business he went. Before I knew it I was up and ready to go home. Dr. Brown came by end explained the whole process on what he saw, and if I had any questions. At NO time was I rushed, and was told to call if I had any questions. The worst part was the MoviePrep cleansing. The easiest part was the procedure itself! I highly endorse Dr. Brown for any colonoscopy procedure, and he is top on my list for any gastrointestinal issues I would have in the future. (Hopefully not). See you in 5 years, Doc! I tried to no avail to set an appointment with this doctor. I called earlier this morning and got the voice mail box for Dr. Brown and then I turned around and went online to schedule an appointment. Of course I missed the call from the scheduler, and when I called her back, I got the voicemail AGAIN. No thanks to this doctor's office. Years ago, I had a bad experience with a colonoscopy, so needless to say - I was a little nervous. I've been a patient of Dr. Brown's for several years now. Having some complicated digestive issues, I feel extremely fortunate to have found the best doctor in town to help manage my problems. He is kind, easy to talk to, and has a gift for making each patient feel as comfortable talking to a doctor as they would their best friend about topics that are not easy to discuss. His office staff and assistants are also the very best. They always greet you with a smile and are quick to help or assist in any way they can. Overall, the provider and office experience have been effortless which is a huge relief when you are dealing with ongoing health issues. I also have to give a huge shout out to the staff at Preston Crossing Endoscopy Center. I just finished my third set of scopes with Dr. Brown and while the staff there have always been wonderful, this last time they were truly amazing. Knowing they must take care of hundreds of patients every week and could easily become indifferent to the patient's perspective, I was extremely impressed with their care and compassion. Everyone I encountered conveyed genuine empathy and concern for my well-being and comfort and did everything possible to put me at ease. At one point, there was even four people in my room all at once getting me ready for the procedure. While that may sound stressful, it was not in the least because they were all so calm, kind, and working together as a team. One nurse was doing paperwork, another nurse was covering me with a heated blanket so I wouldn't be cold, someone with anesthesia was talking to me and with all that welcome distraction, I did not even notice another nurse had started an IV until it was already in. In fact, I do not have great veins and I think she may have even stuck me twice to get it in, but I honestly don't know because I didn't even feel anything. Every step was explained to me along the way in great detail so I knew what to expect and I can't even count the number of times someone asked if I was comfortable or needed anything. There was no wait time at all and afterwards, Dr. Brown took time to explain everything and answer any questions. I have already referred many family and friends, and so can easily say that if you ever find yourself needing a gastroenterologist you can't go wrong and would be in the best possible hands with Dr. Brown and his team at both his office and endoscopy center. read more

Doctor Brown has been a gift from the heavens. After years and years of being told I had "IBS" or that there was nothing wrong with me, Dr. Brown went out of the way to listen to me and really treat more than just the symptoms. Dr. Brown is going outside of the box to not only treat me but, make me feel like a human being again. He did an emergency Endo/Colo when most doctors make you wait weeks or months and he has been working hand in hand with my other doctors as I go through a health scare. Dr. Brown has an exceptional bedside manner and really comes across as a friend more than a doctor which makes the whole uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing experience of visiting the GI doctor better. I have seen many GI doctors and have Yelp reviewed many and Dr. Brown is light years ahead of any of them. He make his knowledge easily accessible and understandable and even integrating my own research and experiences. Being sick for many years has led me to doing a lot of my own studies and draw my own conclusions and Dr. Brown never dismissed any of them instead used them as a tool to help find me a plan of action, which is all I could ask for. The only knock I have is with the office itself, the Phlebotomist had zero bedside manner and the insurance lady charged me when I shouldn't have been charged, however thats more of an FYI for the office and shouldn't be held against Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown is truly a gem and if you are sick of being labeled an "IBS" patient and want a good doctor on your team, Dr. Brown is really the guy you want in your corner. read more

I was at my wit's end with unrelenting abdominal pain that occurred no matter what I ate, and would not go away with any conventional remedies, so a coworker with celiac disease referred me to Dr. Brown. I had to book my appointment approx. a month in advance, but once I was in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff in a cozy waiting room. The medical assistants were attentive, engaged and professional, and Dr. Brown took the time to explain his hypothesis (complete with an illustrated diagram!) and asked a lot of questions to get to the root of the issue. A colonoscopy and endoscopy was performed to rule out a few conditions. Diana was also very helpful and responsive, returning calls within a few hours. The endoscopy center staff and facility was cheerful and put me right at ease, and the entire procedure was completed in about 10 minutes! After 3 weeks on the treatment plan, I've been able to return to my normal diet with little to no discomfort. I only wish I had gone to DHAT sooner! I highly recommend Dr. Brown for any GI issues/preventative care. read more

I ended up in Dr. Brown's office after receiving numerous recommendations for him from my neighbors. I have had multiple office visits and an endoscopy with Dr. Brown. I can't speak highly enough of the care I have received from Dr. Brown and his nurse. He patiently listened to all of my concerns, quickly diagnosed my problem and treated it effectively. Additionally, his nurse has worked tirelessly with my insurance company who has been rather difficult. Dr. Brown is by far my favorite doctor that I see. I called to make an appointment a few months ago with Dr. Brown, because I have been having IBS type symptoms, but have not received a clear answer. I never met Dr. Brown, because apparently he does not see new patients. Fine, I saw the assistant. I was told that I would need a CT scan to figure out more about what could be wrong, to rule out anything serious. They told me the imaging people would get back to me within a few days. It took literally a week after I called them to hear anything. Imaging people decided to schedule a sonogram first before resorting to a CT. That was annoying in and of itself, but that's a different story,. They called, but for some reason I can't find their phone number, and I'm not remembering where their location is. I have called for half an hour straight to speak with a scheduler to ask about where this building is so I can make it to my appointment tomorrow, and it will keep me on hold for forever, and then it will eventually go to voicemail. #1 what doctors office for scheduling goes to voicemail? Usually doctors offices will just make you hold until someone is available to pick up. They never send to a voicemail for scheduling an appointment. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT. But then also, if you're going to MAKE me leave a voicemail, at least call back within a decent amount of time. NOT 2 days later. Also, don't offer a "call back" option, if it means just going straight to the voicemail. If I wasn't already scheduled for this appointment, I would not go here, strictly for the ridiculous scheduling issues... I've never had this much trouble with making a medical appt. EVER. read more

Dr. Brown and his PA Megan are AMAZING! I was only 25 when I started having very serious problems with reflux and pain. He has performed several scopes and even the HALO procedure on me. Each time, from the office visit to waking up from surgery, Dr. Brown and his staff were fantastic. I am a terrible patient and they are always so good at making me feel comfortable and at ease. The staff at the endoscopy center is phenomenal as well. Because the dr is so good it can be difficult to get in to see him, but again, his PA is a fantastic option. She is warm, caring, and genuinely cares about the patients she sees. If you need a GI doctor, I couldn't recommend this practice more. They will take great care of you! read more

I saw Dr. Brown for my colonoscopy and had no problem whatsoever. The prep wasn't pleasant but the procedure went by without a hitch. I woke up and was on my way. I felt fine that day but had some nausea in the day following but I have no idea why. Not a bad experience overall. read more

Instead of saying something like I'm so sorry we can't accommodate you or even looking at her schedule to check she instead let out a chuckle and told me I'd be better off to just go to the emergency room. Procedure was fine. I was lied to by the office staff. I specifically asked what the doctor's fees were for my scheduled procedure. I was told a definite amount and paid that up front. Now, almost four months later, I received an invoice from the doctors requesting 20% more on their total. When I called to inquire, I was told that the dollar amount originally given to me was just an estimate. Which is NOT at all what I was told by Dr. Brown's staff. I don't appreciate the fact that the office just couldn't possibly admit that they said one thing and did another. I find that very unprofessional and with insurance being as terrible as it is these days, as a consumer I did my due diligence in asking the questions first! I would not recommend this group of doctors to anyone unless you get your fees in writing! read more

I was told by my general physician to find a gastroenterologist for my acid reflux. Dr. Browns office was right down the street from me so I made an appointment. The second I walked in, the nurse at the front desk was less than friendly. She never once even looked at me, let alone smiled at me. When I got into Dr.Browns office he said a quick hi, and went straight to his computer. He spent about 3 minutes with me, told me I was fine, and left. I attempted to voice my concerns that I was quite nervous about my condition, that it could potentially be eshophogial cancer, and that I was nervous about having to have an endoscope. He literally ignored me as I was speaking, and then about 15 second later gave me a weak "hmm". In the 3 minutes he was with me, he never once asked if I had any questions or concerns. In all honesty, he seemed only to be concerned with getting patients in and out as fast as possible. The nurse, however, that took my weight and blood pressure was very sweet and caring. I will be looking for a new doctor, and would not recommend this office if you would like your doctor to spend more than 3 minutes with you, and actually acknowledge your questions! read more

It was an interesting experience for me. I took my mom who was having stomach pains to Dr. Brown for a check up. The doctor ordered for a variety of tests including bloodwork, x-ray and colonoscopy. The procedure was only a few days later. When we arrived to the clinic, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I could tell that they really cared about customer service. I ended up paying two separate bills and both were large enough to buy a used car. I didn't care about the costs, as long as my mom got cured. Well, when they were done with the procedure and it was time to pick my mom up, I was surprised with the treatment of the nurse. My mom was still under the influence of anesthesia and she couldn't even remember her name. At that point, I asked the nurse what the diagnosis was. The nurse said "the Dr. told your mom already, we can't tell you the diagnosis since it's confidential information." I told her that she can't even remember her name at the moment. The nurse just brushed me off saying "well the dr told her everything. We aren't allowed to tell you anything, this is confidential information." I asked my mom if she remembers anything the doctor told her, she said she didn't even remember speaking to the dr. So the dr gave the diagnosis while my mom was under, and we have absolutely no idea what she was told at the time. What's the point of ordering all the expensive tests in the world if we won't even be informed about what is going on with my mom? read more
