Cocktail menu

Solid choice in city centre with plenty of good, fresh seafood options. The menu is full of good choices, including daily specials. Since the items are fresh, several dishes may be sold out by dinner time. I was disappointed I couldn't try the soup of the day, poached pear and goat cheese salad or the louet feisser or grilled louet feisser. They were sold out, which is a good sign of their popularity and freshness. I started off side baby gem caesar dressing salad. It didn't taste much like caesar dressing. I could've done without it. For my main I had the seafood linguine. The seafood included pawns, mussels and clams. It was good, nice size portion of seafood. My friend had the trout special and he said it was very good and fresh. He also enjoyed the Carlingford and Connemara Oysters The cocktails unfortunately were a miss for us. My Manhattan tasted more like vermouth than whiskey. My friend exchanged the mojito for a cider because it was a bit too syrupy. My other friend did enjoy her whiskey sour. They have an extensive wine list. The service was great. We were seated immediately and one waitress was very friendly, had great energy and provided us with great recommendations. The decor is gorgeous. I especially looked the lights above the bar. The seating is also pretty spacious I would return to try a few different items

This was a recommendation from others that had traveled to Dublin. The restaurant was fine for what we needed. There were 6 of us and we were seated in a booth with a small table that felt like it would've better fit 3-4 people. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The food was good, but nothing too special. We enjoyed the lobster arancini appetizer. The fish and chips was good, but high price for what you get. Overall, a fine meal but nothing too special write home about

Nice place about a 20 minute walk from the river in Dublin. We went after a tour of Trinity College. The service was wonderful and the drink selection was great. Definitely a great place to go if you are looking for a cocktail or wine instead of a pint, although they still had a great draft selection. The real reason I wanted to come was for the crock of mussels though. They were awesome with a great flavor. The garlic bread was crisp and perfect to dip. The fish and chips were good too, but the mussels were great!

Linguini was very good

The food was very good. The design and overall vibe was very nice and classy. We enjoyed excellent service. My linguini was good but not one of the best. Could have used more shellfish.

Interior with a lovely area with books and bookshelves.

What a lovely restaurant for our last night in Dublin! The interior has great decor and a wonderful vibe, with an area of tables and bookshelves I wanted to sit in for an entire afternoon. Our server was fun and funny, and took good care of us. The food was very good; I had a burger, which was excellent. The fries/chips were fine. Someone else had the Salade Nicoise with tuna; the eggs were a gorgeous golden color. Save room for dessert! We shared a mixed berry crumble with ice cream and it was excellent. Would definitely return my next time in Dublin!

Grilled oysters are a must have
Dawn V.

If you're an oyster fan, this grilled plate is like no other and a must-try when in Dublin Just a short walk from the park, there's a bit of outside seating and a beautifully bright and inviting interior I also had the fish/chips and brown bread, also very good but I was swept away by the oyster plate. I've had plenty of grilled oysters in New Orleans, but I suppose we just haven't gotten that creative yet- these are very special

The food was good. We were tired of the Irish pub food so we decided to pop in here for a nice meal. Gave us a break from fried and stewed food. Food was fresh and came out pretty quick. We got the two special of the day and they were both very filling. The fish was fresh and not dry. Tried the dessert and it was decent. Nothing too special. Inside was classy and clean. They had nice music playing and bright lighting. Service was a little weird. The host was kind and very welcoming. Our server was not that. She was very rude and unkind. She paid no attention to us. Threw menus at us as well as our receipt when we paid.

Excellent seafood in the heart of Dublin. I really like that the ambience is friendly and dinner oriented. Not a crowded pub scene, which can get tiresome in Dublin.

Weekend afternoon jazz band 2-5pm

Checked in this Sunday afternoon for the live jazz music from 2 to 5 pm every weekend. Bartender was very friendly, and I got to taste several Irish whiskey. Also tasted the house fish chowder. The chowder was well made, warm and creamy with delicate taste of potato flour cream and pleasantly spicy seasoning. Also came with a generous portion of fish fillets that tasted very well. The waitress advised to add a touch of lemon juice to the chowder, and it worked very well. The lemon zest balanced against the heavy and savory taste of chowder. Very pleasant experience overall.

Catch of the day. Monkfish

Went there for dinner and decided on 'Catch of the day' which was monkfish. It was lovely and service was great! Great place for seafood!

They have a really good selection of oysters and do come between 5-6pm to enjoy 1€ off all oysters happy hour. I'm not an oyster fan, but I tried their torched oyster, they taste amazing. The oysters were displayed on a bed of seaweed. And they brought to your table and explain to you all the ingredients then torch in front of you. I love all the combinations to max the flavor. I wanted to try the Dublin shrimp but unfortunately they ran out, I was told usually ran out at lunch. So I ordered crab on toast, really big size crab meat with cucumber on a yellow crab paste. Seafood linguine was do yummy. It came with a lot of local baby mussels and some shrimps. Cooked in wine and garlic sauce.

And a wall of paper towels that customers from all around the world have written messages on -- love that. We got the oyster sampler, which is a perfect pre-dinner snack size for two. It comes with four different kinds of oysters, two each, eight total. The waitress explained the taste profiles of each type: one was salty, one was mineral-y, another creamy. I thought the creamy oysters took the cake. Pro tip: come during Happy Hour and get a euro off each oyster!

I had clear favourites and ended up ordering extra rock oysters after. I tried 4 types of oysters, and I chose the rock oyster for the rest of the meal. The oyster selection is priced at €7.00 for 2 oysters, which makes it dangerously easy to keep adding "just two more rock oysters" . The oyster tempura was also a win, and it's €16.50 for 4 oysters. We shared the 10oz rib eye (€49.50) and it was good, but steak-wise other places win, so I'd personally focus on the seafood here. The atmosphere felt lively and polished without being stiff. It was busy, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. We spent roughly €150 for the oysters and the rib eye, and I'd happily go back for an oyster-led meal.

I ordered the sea bass, which was cooked beautifully with delicate flavor and a nice presentation, but the portion was surprisingly small considering the price point. Unfortunately, the mushroom risotto was the opposite experience; it had an overpowering pungent flavor that neither of us enjoyed. One of the highlights of the evening was the bar experience. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his cocktail, and sitting at the bar allowed us to watch the bartenders work while also enjoying small conversations with the staff, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the night. I opted for a glass of port along with still water and appreciated the relaxed pacing of the service. The restaurant was completely full during dinner hours, so I would strongly recommend making a reservation in advance or choosing bar seating as we did. The overall atmosphere was elegant yet calm, with soft music playing in the background and courteous waitstaff throughout the evening. The only downside to the seating at the bar was that the stools became uncomfortable after a while. Overall, I would recommend SOLE to friends who enjoy European-style dining experiences with milder flavors, quality seafood, and a refined ambiance. Just be prepared for smaller portions and moderately high prices.

I won't tell you what the ingredients list includes because you should try it first yourself but it will blow your mind. That's right. Tartar sauce has the ability to BLOW YOUR MIND. The smoked almonds are delightful and the 0% alc pale ale was a lovely companion to the F&C. My plate had a healthy portion of both fish and chips and I even left some chips behind but one person in my group took to soaking her chips in the amazing malt vinegar provided. I had to go double duty, first splashing chips and fish with vinegar AND then going in hard on the tartar. Why leave chips behind? I ran out of tartar sauce! Finishing up with the lemon posset which I also HIGHLY recommend but don't ignore the sticky toffee pudding. Our group got both desserts and shared which worked out well. Make sure to call ahead for a reservation but needless to say I'll be contacting the FS team as soon as I book my return flight to Dublin

Worth the two year wait! ... Let me explain…read more I was in Dublin two years ago, absolutely siked that there was a posh little chipper spot that could do gluten-free fish & chips. I made a reservation & arrived perfectly on time, just to find out ... I made the reservation for the wrong day. Fish Shop was fully booked out (& it's a small place!) so they could not accommodate me. I had to leave. I actually cried outside on the street. Gluten-free fish & chips is a big deal to me! So in 2026, I made a reservation for myself FAR in advance & made absolute certain that it was the CORRECT day. I did hold my breath just a little bit when I arrived, but I was good to go. The shop is tight - not a lot of room to move around. Unfortunately I was seated right by the door, so every time someone came in or out, I was blasted by cold air. I forgive. I ordered a skin contact Austrian wine & haddock fish & chips (gluten free, of course) & it all came out in a reasonable time. Everything was just spectacular. The fish was crispy, flaky, & perfectly done. The fries were thick & the malt vinegar was strong. The wine was weird & a perfect pairing. I really wish this spot wasn't across the ocean from me. I'll certainly be back every time I'm in the city.
