Customer service used to be good but it has significantly declined recently. My 2019 Pilot has an issue with draining batteries (it's well documented on the internet and there's a class action suit about it) but they do nothing to resolve the issue except replace the battery and then make you jump through hoops just to have them honor the warranty when the battery inevitably dies again. read more

I have been buying and leasing cars from Scranton Honda since 1987 Recently turned in a lease wanting to stay with Honda Finance. I was told it would be more expensive. Gave me a loan with another loaner. At first thought I thought I was being given a favor. Realized after papers were signed and reaching out to Honda Financial, Inwould have been better off turning in the lease and going elsewhere. And if Inwas going to practically buy the car as a preowned used car, Inreally would have wanted to pay Honda Finacial. My loan is all online. And $3000 lest than the price I leased the car at. Bah! Horrible Experience. I feel robbed of my time and money. The lack of care is disappointing and disgusting. I fell into the trap of receiving a piece of Honda "Recall" mail, with the impression of getting what ever was recalled for free. This is my first experience with a Honda dealership. This is also my first Honda vehicle. I brought my car in for a recall. They inspected and sent me on my way. They said everything was ok. Shorty after I started having problems with how the car was running. After bringing my car back to Honda, they ask to do a diagnosis. I pay for a part labor and diagnostic test. I get my car back just to see other parts broken that had nothing to do with what I brought it in for. There waa two things out of place. One thing they after me nagging was offered to be replaced but the other was not. The only thing they bring up is when will I bring more money to them to get stuff fixed smh never again. read more

I had received a recall notice on my vehicle, a 2008 Honda CRv that was for the rear frame brace due to rust and corrosion. I brought it in to Matt Burne Honda in Scranton PA on January 7 2025 and dropped it off for them since they mentioned it could take a few hours. They called me a little later to let me know it was all done and I could pick up the vehicle. No one mentioned any other issues or potential issues as I left with the keys. Come March I took the car in for its annual inspection and it failed due to a serious amount of rust and corrosion on the rear frame, all around the area they were working on to install the brace for the recall. No one at Matt Burne even bothered to mention it. No one bothered to look at my inspection sticker to see it was only 2 months away to at least warn me. No one mentioned the vehicle was unsafe to drive, let alone drive my wife and children around in. I called Matt Burne to find out why they would do something like this, but of course, I had to leave a voicemail since no one answers the phone in the service dept. Two days later I got a call back from Matt, and he said that the for the recall, the amount of rust doesn't matter. All they need to do is remove one bolt from the frame which holds in the trailing arm, and if they can do that then it passes and they install the brace. While at one time they were required to do a punch test on the frame, it appears Honda has removed that requirement. I bought the car from Matt Burne, and yet they couldn't care less about me or my family. While they may have held to Honda's requirements for the recall, their behavior on this one shows no concern for their customers. It is pretty despicable behavior. Imagine now if my inspection wasn't due until the end of the year, I would still be driving the car. The frame is disintegrating as it sits and waits for a tow truck to haul it away. Yet it supposedly passes their test for the recall and Matt Burne doesn't care enough to say anything. read more

Bought are Left over pilot there was over $32,000 dollars a dealer car asked if it ever was in an accident they told no sold me the bumper to bumper warranty for $1,200 dollars drivers door started rusting out had an miner accident with my other car when the adjuster came and look at it I showed him the pilot and asked him why is it starting to rust like that he told me the car was in an accident I told him I asked the dealer if it was ever in an accident they said no he showed me where what they call a skin on it and where they cut it to fix it we went back to Burne Honda and told them about it they said the couldn't do anything about it even after we spent $1,200 on extended coverage so they never fixed it for us Stay away from doing Business with them if possible because they will lie to you to make a deal bad business still have the car and this is what happened over 4 yrs now and would cost us a ton of money to fix it this is what it looks like today read more

Had great experience with sales department. Bought 2023 Pilot and was perfectly happy until 1 year in when I failed inspection for irregular wear on inside of all 4 tires. When I failed they said it was because I did not get an alignment, but they rotated tires at 6 months with no mention of an issue. Sales manager (Igor?) said he gets alignment every 6 months, but when asked why that was not advised, he said they would only advise BASED ON IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR! They blamed everything on tires and had zero empathy for the situation, did not even offer to help deal with tire company......can I give less than one star? My aunt leased a 2019 Honda from them but is now under Hospice care at home. I called today to see if they could pick up the car. It has barely any miles. They checked the vin number and my aunts SS# and then called me back to say "normally we go after the estate to collect the rest of the lease, and no we don't pick up cars." I got the feeling they were trying to work a deal until they found out I'm from CT. I can't leave to bring the car back while I care for her. She is a retired teacher. They are heartless. She has lived here her whole life and has only bought from them. Untrustworthy and bottom feeder in my opinion. Im not from here, just taking care of her in her last days but I've always worked in customer service and was shocked at the cold response for the elderly. BEWARE!!! CIVICS HAVE KNOWN DEFECTIVE AC SYSTEMS!!! Bought a '16 Civic CPO. Now AC blows warm air. Called Honda. They told me because I'm a few miles out of my CPO warranty they will not cover it. They told me I need to get a diag which will cost over $300 and then they "might" pay for something. They gave no assurance that they will pay for anything though. All Honda AC systems have r1234yf so only the dealer can service them. They are all defective on all newer Civics. I'm seeing compressor and or condenser repair/replace prices from $1100 to $2450. Noone said that Honda covered any of it. Its all over the forums/websites. I wish I knew this before I bought this vehicle. I am amazed that Honda doesn't care about this known issue. They snuck in all kinds of extra's on the final paperwork and only showed me the bottom of the page to sign. They charged 3k over the sticker price, added gap insurance after I told them I would purchase thru my carrier. They charged for registration, but I had to call several times to get it. This place saved my butt on the busiest day of my life. I lost my ONLY HONDA KEY the morning of a mandatory training and was shattered by it. After googling and calling around I ended up at Matt Burne Honda. Thanks to them, I was able to get a new key made quickly, efficiently and for CHEAP. Saw the other reviews, and none of them matched my experience. I have only come for service on my 2007 Pilot. I make an appointment for the time I want, bring the car in and it is taken immediately. There is a very clean waiting room with coffee and pastry and a large television. My car gets checked out and the manager comes and tells me if it needs anything extra and how much it costs. The service has been thorough and I never had a problem with anything they ever fixed. I use them exclusively when I am in Scranton. read more

We've bought 3 cars from here between 05-07 - 1 new and 2 used. Not the best deal we could have gotten. But, I didn't do enough research to get the most for my buck either. After having had problems with GM cars, we wanted to switch over to Honda. That's all we were going for basically, when we walked onto the lot. I've heard & seen from friends and family that you can get better deals from motorworld in wilkes-barre. We go back to get a lot of our major maintenance work done here. But, not all. e.g. $40 for oil change is a bit pricy when some other places offer the service for $20. On rare occasions, we get coupons mailed to us. Hence the reason for our repeat visit for service. Getting an appointment within 7 days is pretty difficult, if not impossible. And even with an appointment, a simple oil change can take up to 2hours. The mechanics are right down unfriendly - from the few interactions I have had with them regarding certain issues with the cars. read more

Went here to have my car serviced during a visit over Christmas. Had brakes and battery repaired. Rude service people and they didn't return my wheel lock and I forgot to ask for it...it wasn't until I returned to VA I realized it was missing. I called the service department 2 times and both times was treated badly and not very concerned about returning my wheel lock. Never heard back from them and I had to get my car inspected so I had to pay for a new wheel lock from Honda and get it sent to me ASAP. If I ever win the lottery....LOL...and I get to buy my family a bunch of cars. It would NOT be from here. read more

"Great car, horrible dealership" The first issue I had was trying to cancel an extended warranty. The warranty had a 30 cancellation period. I contacted the finance director to cancel. Long story short, over a week later the warranty company had to process the cancellation because the dealership did not do it. The next issue was with service. I had a wheel bearing that was bad. When I called to schedule my service the guy was rude telling me he highly doubted a wheel bearing would need to be replaced so soon. I had an appointment on July 3rd to get it checked out. I dropped the car off at 8 am. At 1:15 I had not heard anything so I called. I was told they were still looking at the car. At 3:30 I called again. I was told it was just finished. It was a bearing but they didn't have the part so I would need to come back! I was told the repair would take a half a day. Then when I said I would need a loaner I was told that's not usually possible. I argued that and then someone else stepped in and said they would work it out so I could get one. The next day I was called to see how my experience was. When I gave my negative feedback the woman apologized and said Jack Munley would be calling me the next day. No one called me back. When the part came in and I called to schedule and asked for a loaner I was told the repair would take 40 minutes and they could do it on a Saturday. I brought it in at 9:00. I am writing this as I sit in the waiting room. It is 10:51. When I checked 20 minutes ago I was told the person who scheduled me was wrong and the repair takes at least 2 hours. This is no way to treat customers. I regret buying my car here. I will never come back here for anything. read more

Just bought my first Honda and Joe in sales was great. I'm a no BS kinda guy, so I hate car buying transactions that take forever. From the time I decided to buy to the time I drove off the lot was about an hour and fifteen minutes (including financing, they also washed the car again and fueled it up), and it was well after 5pm. Trade in value was fair for my old ride. I just enjoyed the ease of the purchase with no surprise hiccups that always seem to show up at crunch time with other dealers. These guys will definitely be on my return business list. read more

I agree with the other Yelpers! I had a somewhat good experience in the beginning, but after the sale was done they didn't want anything to do with me. I had a similar situation with other car dealerships out of state. I generally find the sales team is very nice until the sale is complete. Once they have your funds in hand, they treat customers very different. read more
