Overall I cannot recommend using Mathnasium. The staff is friendly and professional but it was not worth the money and I wish I just hired a private tutor instead. More than once they didn't seem to notice my daughter was struggling and barely got one page of work done in an hour. We could do that for free at home. Also after we had a family emergency and cannot do the last 3 weeks of the summer they are unable to refund any money. They offered 1 week future credit but based on the emergency we will unlikely be able to use it. Overall felt like wasted half the money spent. read more

My son attends Mathnasium 3 times a week. Mathnasium tutors are very friendly and always communicate with us about our son's achievements. We receive daily emails saying what our studied every class. They also spoke with my son's math teacher from my son's school to ask how they can help our son boost his math grades. My 9 year old daughter has never cared for math. Since she has been going to this facility for past 2 months, her attitude and performance have changed drastically. All the tutors usually greet her by her name and make her feel welcome. Their attentive and friendly approach have helped motivate her to learn and build on the fundamentals taught here. I enrolled my 7th grader for a six month program. He came to the Math center almost everyday. In two months, he has earned an A on his first semester grade. The card reward program that they have was a motivation for my son to attend the Mathnasium and which also helped him to be better on his math skill. read more

Took my kids here during there summer break. My kids aged 5 and 7 were struggling with math- although we spent a lot of time with them. We did a 3 month program here and I cannot explain the 180 degree change in my kids math aptitude. These guys worked their magic. My kids are now thriving in math. Their addition/subtraction is amazing- in their head without any fingers. On top of that they were familiarized with a ton of other concepts such as fractions, time, measurements, currency and word problems. My daughter has been a having a hard time with math and it was the beginning of the school year. We decided to try Mathnasium since that seemed to be the subject she was having a hard time with. We were first greeted by Nick who was very courteous and asked what our concerns were followed by assessing my daughter. After he looked over her paper work he gave us some inside as to why she may have had some answers incorrect. He reviewed those incorrect answers with my daughter in front of us and talked her through the problem. He was not pushy to sign our daughter up but rather gave suggestions to help her improve. He gave us various program options we can try before making a long term commitment. (Such as try it for a month, or three, etc.) we decided to try it for the school year. I felt comfortable and not pressured into signing up. The environment is very positive. My daughter has worked with Nick, nick, Vivian and Tracy. She has never had any complaints about any of the tutors. She enjoys the monthly challenge question. And having a treat (licorice) for writing what she learned for the day is a bonus for her. It seemed as my daughters attitude toward math drastically changed. The people who worked with her day to day are always willing to give a daily assessment if needed or will update me on major milestones on her work. Mathnasium has their own worksheets for the child to work on however if the child has homework, my daughter can use her time to work homework or both homework and practice sheets simultaneously. With mathnasium giving her such confidence I noticed that she looks forward to going everyday. If she had a bad day at school, the first thing she asks to go is to mathnasium. She always comes out happy. I also enjoy when the tutors acknowledge me and sometimes makes small talk. I like the personable attention they give. I have been very happy so far and highly recommend mathnasium. read more

I have tried other tutoring places & Mathnasium by far has been the best experience we have come across!! If you want your kids to understand Math the way it should makes sense to them & at the same time making it an easy subject so they are not struggling later on in life with this subject you have to talk to Nick at the Woodbridge Mathnasium. He is the most helpful center director I've met so far! My son has been working with 3different Tutors & they all have great deal of patience & I love that! Awesome place to learn math! Mr. Jerry, the owner of the location does a fantastic job of organizing the place as well as keeping everyone happy! There are at least 50 kids coming every hour which explains what a great place it is. I came over the summer and learned a lot of geometry. Mathnasium has been such a good investment in my child's math future. She loves to come here, but most of all she loves math. Now that is awesome. She is excited about and loves learning math!! It's so great! The staff seem attentive to her needs and coach her in such a warm and friendly manner...it is a pleasure to see her soaking up these math concepts like a sponge! My child is in 2nd grade & advancing steadily. They assessed her initially to see her areas of weakness and to target them for improvement and advancement. I should also note that I have visited a number of different places, but found them more rote learning or stiff and formal. This program seems to have a more flexible approach meeting the child where they are at and teaching math in a way that appeals to the child. I really like this place. Everyone is really friendly and they really give each child the proper attention. It's a relaxed environment and they make the math fun. They do lots of positive reinforcement and there are prizes the kids get for completing their work. My daughter really enjoys it and is really improving with her number sense. They are not teaching by repetition alone, but by really having the kids understand numbers/math. read more

My two kids attend. Good program and good homework helper as well. Its important for the parents to keep tabs on what the kids are doing because sometimes they are doing things that are too easy. This is where kids having good communication with the staff is helpful and with their friendly staff its an easy fix. My 5 year old daughter has attended Mathnesium for 2 months now. They started her out in the First Steps program, private, one-on-one tutoring for 30 minutes at a time. She loves it and is excited to go every time. I recently ask her if she would like to go twice a week and she jumped up and down, enthusiastically saying yes!
