My child (rising 4th grader) is excelling in school and we have Kumon to thank for! The Kumon…read moremethod is practice, practice, practice until mastery so I know my child is learning the basics and mastering certain levels and concepts before moving up to the next level. It is different how schools are teaching math and reading but I like this method bc as a high school teacher, it's becoming more common to see high schoolers needing calculators for basic addition. My child does get homework from Kumon everyday (again, different from some schools but it doesn't take long on both the math and reading) so there is development of building discipline and practice. My child is at least 2 grades above in math and reading and we have Kumon to thanks! (I also grew up with Kumon and found it helped make school easier for me)

Since he started Kumon, he established good work habits while he is doing Math and Reading everyday. I am very pleased that he is much more confident at school. My older kid who is 7th grade, taking Algebra Honors course at school. He started Kumon at beginning of this year because he is making careless mistakes at school. Because his lack of Math drill, he started Kumon on much lower level but he is catching up fast now. I am very confident that Kumon will be beneficial for both of boys and looking forward to see my kids improvement over the summer.

Update 7/21: We received a phone call after the fact trying to rectify and reschedule, so changed…read moreto 3 stars from 1 because they explained the individual that was supposed to meet with us was in a daily conference with parents of enrolled siblings. I still feel this could have just been explained to us during the time we just stood there or someone could have just rescheduled, I do think it's admirable that they care enough to spend the time talking to parents of enrolled students (hence the bump). I'm still no longer interested in enrollment though. 7/20: 1 star We were very excited to enroll our daughter in Kumon, as we have friends with children in Kumon, but in different location. We scheduled an assessment and appointment about a 5 days in advance (they are very busy and this was the earliest we could get). We arrived for our assessment, and our daughter was taken back to complete it. We waited outside (due to coiv.... very understandable). No one explained the process to us, just gave us some paperwork to fill out and review while we waited for our daughter's assessment to be completed. Once she was done, we had to ask what we needed to do next. after some confusion, someone told us we could wait inside. Then we waited, 20 mins (mind you, there were no chairs, just a window to lean on). We asked if we were waiting for someone, and they said, yes, someone would be out to talk with us shortly. We waited another 10 mins, and asked again what exactly we were waiting for, and they said someone would be with us. After another 10 mins, we gave up and left. We were set up for a 1 hour appointment, and left with our kid having only done a 10 min assessment in that time. They just seemed really unorganized and extremely busy. Not the best impression to make when seeking this kind of service. Parents should be aware that you cannot drop off your kid and return at the end of class... you must wait outside or in your car. The only plus was that our daughter said her assessor was really nice.

However…read morethe center staff didn't communicate regarding their absolutely little availability and no flexibility when it came to schedule classes for my kid. This was after we paid the hefty assessment fee which is now a waste of our money and time and we couldn't pursue the classes due to very limited availability. Herndon C2 is one of the best tutoring facilities in the Herndon area! Being a student at C2…read moreHerndon for almost 5 years now, I can surely recommend them to ANYONE. Not only have my SAT scores and grades improved, but also I have built more skills on tackling homework and assignments at school. The tutors are one of the best around and know how to help every student. The staff is also VERY kind and understanding and are willing to work around your schedule and they always great you with a smile as soon as you walk in! Apart from SAT prep and homework help, I also take Russian at C2. They were extremely helpful in finding me a tutor for Russian and can find you a tutor in whatever other subject you might need. From the university I attend to the amount I succeed, I know I will have C2 to thank for all it! Ask for Mr.Terry if you need help with any sort of math! He is one of the best tutors I have ever had. They gave…read moreme a diagnostic test when I first started and I got a 1700, which is not a bad score at all. However, with a few months of help, I got my score up to a 2190 and I got into the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, my dream school. The tutors are very knowledgeable, both in what they are teaching, and in how to best teach it. They are also easy to talk to and the small groups that the sessions are in makes it easier to ask questions. It really was a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a bump in SAT scores or to anyone who just needs help with a school subject. C2 will help you advance in both!

Our son did his part, doing practice exams and going over them when they met. We had what we thought was a realistic expectation of how much the score might improve and were pleasantly surprised when he scored higher than we'd hoped and expected. Art is able to explain the material as well as how test questions are designed in ways that our son understood and was able to apply. Both not only helped this score, but certainly will contribute in the future. Highly recommended.

Everbrook Academy of Gainesville has been a Godsend for our family. If I could give this daycare…read moremore stars, I would. We were part of Everbrook before Ms Tina made the courageous decision to shut the school down and clean up shop. She really got rid of the drama, cleaned up the space, and made it into a professional daycare/school. During the time it was shut down, we went to Everbrook Bristow which was great but too far away for our family. We then went to another daycare.... And the experience was awful. We were in a school which teachers did not engage with the children and did not care when children were fighting in the classroom. Our daughter started having nightmares, picking up these unwanted behaviors, and started having the most intense tantrums. I reached out to Principal Tina, she sat down with my husband and I for a couple hours while we explained the situation and what we needed help with. Ms Tina assured us we would be a team and Everbrook would be professional at all times. And let me tell you, we have a completely different child in about a month of coming back to Everbrook. My child's language abilities have exploded! She's 2 and asking "can I play with you?". She also says many 3-4 word sentences. Her behavior has immensely improved and we have not had ANY nightmares! Her teacher, Ms Huesna, really knows what she's doing. I see her down engaging with the kids and creating activities for the kids to learn all the time! Everbrook Academy of Gainesville is where you want to send your children for them to THRIVE!

Our family had a very poor experience at this center. I should have trusted my instinct during the…read moreenrollment process when the center leaned about my child's minor disability and demanded I complete a reasonable accommodation form prior to his start date. My 2 year old is in a physical therapy program, during the pandemic his therapy was strictly virtual.I was required to sign a document that stated "should the center be unable to reasonably accommodate my child's needs" he would be disenrolled. I assured the director Sarah Zirzow that he was an independent and active average 2 year old they did not need any "special" privileges or accommodations yet we were still denied a fair treatment. I took her actions as a simple inexperience in working with children with disabilities and abided by the rules. 1st day the incident reports began piling up. He was sent home with multiple reports of violent behavior which sounded nothing like my child. The director made the decision to not allow him to come back for the remainder of the week and put together a 3 strike contract terminating him from the program. My child was disenrolled in less than 3 weeks. I have made over a dozen contacts to the corporate office at the Learning Group asking for a call back and no one has yet to return my call. The center charged us for a month and a half worth of daycare expenses and has made further unauthorized charges against our checking account 4 weeks after his disenrollement date. A billing specialist at the leaving group finally informed me that my refund would not mailed for 7-9 weeks! I have sent multiple emails since requesting videos of the allegations, copies of incidents they reported that were never provided to me, an explanation to my refund.. none of which have been responded to. The center staff was very pleasant during the enrollment process but have very little to no experience in managing an educational program and caring for small children. The new center has not reported a single incident in nearly 4 weeks.... I feel so guilty putting my child through whatever happened at this center during that 3 weeks and not trusting my first instinct. Below is a link to the Virginia State licensing violation against this center showing clear negligence, poor training by this staff. https://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/search/cc2.cgi?rm=Inspection;Inspection=111266;ID=44548;search_contains_zip=20155;search_keywords_name=Everbrook%20;search_require_client_code-2101=1 Courtney R.: I have. I have called MULTIPLE times and requested a call back. Took Stephanie over a month to call me back to tell me there was a miscommunication and that my unfortunate experience would be used to better train your staff. That's comforting to know.
