I called this center asking for pricing on a tutor for honors pre-calc and maybe honors physics. HS students can't do 1-hour sessions and you can't split a 2-hour session between two subjects. I ask for hourly pricing and I'm told "$60-70/hr" depending on the package. I say thank you, but $240/week is too much for me. She asks me to go into the center for a full explanation of their services. I go in and we're asked to fill out a form outlining all HS classes taken and the corresponding grades. My son asks if he can just fill out math because that's all we need help for. I say yes. She calls us back and makes a snide comment about us not completing the form. I remind her that I only want tutoring in one, maybe 2, subjects. No SAT prep, no additional subjects. She goes on to talk about college prep and I say I already have a contract with a college admissions advisor and I don't need that either. She talks about their testing and reporting. Fine, but don't think I need it. Then we get to pricing. She flips past the bigger packages and goes to the one that most aligns with my needs (which I clearly outlined on the phone). Now all of a sudden it's $114/hour, or $452/week if I do two 2-hour sessions. I already said $240/hr was too much, so why would I ever agree to $452/hr?? It was a complete waste of my time. So rude and disrespectful to lure me out there when I was very clear on the phone.
