My son recently left Jack and Jill, and I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on the…read morechildcare center. Please keep in mind I do not ever write reviews, but felt the need to, because this place has placed such a huge role in my child's life over the last year. I read the review from the previous parent and was shocked because my family did not experience any of the things they referenced. Now let me be clear, they do provide food Monday - Thursday, and kids pack on Friday, but ok that is their policy and you know that when you sign your child up. When they get to public school, you will have to pack lunch, so I do not see what the big deal is. As for changing classrooms, my son was always in the same classroom when I came to pick him up. Now he would sit in one classroom in the morning and have breakfast with all the kids, but when breakfast was over, they would all go to their respective rooms. Again, it is very similar to public school, so I do not see what the big deal is. As for the staff, I cannot say enough nice things about Mrs. Wally. My son literally loves her like she was his own Meme. She always had his best interest at heart, and he looked forward every day to going and seeing her. His favorite memory was getting there early on Tuesday mornings and getting to help carry in the grocery bags, he loved being Mrs. Wally's big helper. Now there were days that my son misbehaved (I mean he is a kid, they all misbehave) and Mrs. Liz or Mrs. Wally would have a conversation with me about it, but it was never anything rude or harsh, it was always a nice debrief of the day, and at the end of it, my son would be told he needs to make better choices the next day. I would never get offended by them talking to me about his behavior because they would spend more time with him during the week than I am able to due to work. Again, they have his best interest at heart and want him to grow up to be respectful and a good human being just like my wife and I want him to. Unfortunately, you cannot please everyone, and that is evident in the previous post. That being said if you come to Jack and Jill and expect this flashy commercial daycare, then you will not get what you are expecting. Jack and Jill is the perfect hybrid between a home daycare and a commercial daycare. It is not as flashy as some of the newer daycares around and may not have all the same bells and whistles, however, at the end of the day, it has what matters most, love and nurture for the children entrusted to them. It is a place where they will treat you like family and will take care of your little ones the same way your Grammy and Papa would. It has a cozy and warm feeling and really feels like home.

Now they have mandated a 4% increase which now brings the total up to $273 a week. This will now be an annual increase they said. About a month ago they had a special going on for $175 a week full-time and then we find out they increase the rest of the family's but they wouldn't change the price on those who have been there. Instead they increase our price and said it was due to staffing and other needs. My baby is in the infant A class and I love one of the ladies who takes care of my son and her name is Lourdes. She pays attention to the details like my baby was always missing bottle caps, nipples would be different, socks missing, they don't know who's blanket and bibs go too because they would always change out staffing like mid day and there's communication between each other was lacking but Lourdes is amazing and nurturing. All the girls seem very nice but they really need to work on their communication as they exchange handing off infants. They also have an infant B class which are about a yr old and they tend to bring them into the infant A room to help save money on staffing I guess. By bringing the toddler's over to the Infant side the babies are more susceptible to getting sick including when infants haven't received all their shots. My son was really sick for a week and a half. I get that by being at a daycare center that my son will catch what ever Is going around but at the same time these babies don't have a strong immune system and they should take preventative measures. That should be common sense The facility is nice and big but at the same time they are the priciest facility in Warrenton and to me it seem empty due to the high price. For the price it's nothing special that you couldn't find in another cheaper facility. I work at the hospital so it's convenient but looking into other places that are more affordable. As I don't want to continue paying a 4% increase every year...that's a little ridiculous. It should be the older they get the less you pay!!

In addition, our teachers and assistants are assessed twice annually using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS) to ensure your child receives a quality education. All our staff are CPR/First-Aid certified. Through the last 6 years, my sons have been in every class --infant to school age--and received genuine quality care from every teachers. I have never once worried about their safety while I was at work. The Kiddie Academy management staff know both of my children personally and are very proactive in reporting anything they think I may want or need to know about my child's day, through detailed daily emails with pictures, email newsletters, biannual report cards, and accident paper reports and personal phone calls. A member of the management team is always available and willing to discuss any concern or question I have in person, by phone, or promptly returned email. Besides being safe, happy, and well cared for, my children are academically well prepared to enter Kindergarten, more so than my peers' children in any other care environment. On top of all this, Kiddie Academy hosts community events several times a year that my children look forward to and also provides reliable and safe transportation to and from my child's elementary school. My children have made many friends at Kiddie Academy that they look forward to seeing every day, along with their teachers, and some that we have extended friendships with outside of school. I am so grateful Kiddie Academy has been such a big part of our sons' early years!

BEST...DAYCARE...EVER!!! GREAT OWNER, GREAT TEACHERS...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!…read more I have read several reviews that stated about how the owner is "mean" and how they have high turnover and I would like to clarify a few things: 1. The owner, Ms. Jen, is not a mean person, she is a professional who takes great pride in taking care of "her babies". She truly cares about each and every child that attends her centers. Does she expect her employees to be caring professionals? Absolutely. Does she expect perfection? No. She understands that it takes time for a newly hired employee to find their right fit (some are better with the babies, some are better with the big kids). She gives them the opportunity to truly find their fit...but she will not hesitate to terminate an employee that is unprofessional and/or does not have "her babies" best interests at heart. 2. Has there been turnover? Absolutely. This, unfortunately, is the nature of the business. There was a time in the 2's and 3's class where it seemed that there was a revolving door of teachers. Those teachers simply did not cut it...nothing against them personally, but that is a VERY demanding group of children (still babies at heart but wanting to flex their independence). However, they have had a teacher for the past few months that is EXCELLENT...so much so that I was a little sad to see my oldest graduate from her room. In a nutshell, Walnut Grove is a fantastic center where the children are the sole focus of the owner, teachers and teaching assistants. My two boys have absolutely thrived in their care. As full-time working parents, we wanted to make sure that our children would be in a safe, loving environment and Walnut Grove more than fulfills our expectations.

We were looking for a school in the area that was not only rich in their curriculum, but a school that was diverse in its culture and one that embraced children of all ethnicities. I noticed that during Black Histoy Month (2/2023), there were no initiatives highlighted in the February Monthly newsletter to recognize the contributions of the many African-Americans that have contributed to American History. I decided to email the staff with ideas in which Black History Month could be incorporated into the curriculum, considering that there were a number of African-American students enrolled at HCA. I received a phone call immediately from one of the Administrators (Mrs. Juliana) stating that this was an oversight and that they would be sure to highlight Black History Month. I had a follow-up conversation with the Curriculum Specialist (Mrs. Giovanna)...and to my surprise, she had incorporated many of the items that I highlighted in my email! Not to mention, how swiftly she acted upon this. I would like to extend my SINCEREST gratitude for all that HCA has done for Black History Month and everything that they are instilling in my children daily. I was thoroughly impressed with the various learning activities the students participated in throughout the month. They exceeded my expectations on highlighting African-American culture and the many great achievements of some of the well-known Black pioneers that have contributed to AMERICAN HISTORY. Efforts such as these make my husband and I confident that we have selected the right school for our children. We look forward to our children thriving in a school environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as high educational standards. Job well done HCA!!
