The estimate came in at a good and fair cost... but I was really assured by Pat's knowledge and game plan for the repair. Green Lake scheduled the repair within a week. The day of, the electrician was right on time and started the work right away... I left for the day and when I returned the job was done with solid work and looked sound. The inspector came out and nitpicked two things that were minor fixes... so I emailed Green Lake the inspection report and photos and they sent someone out to do the fixes. Unfortunately, they forgot to do one of the two fixes... but I emailed again... and they came out for a third time to get the job right. Stand up work for a solid price. Thanks Green Lake.

My experience working with Nick (owner) was excellent…read more He just completed swapping my panel box, upgrading all the outlets and light switches. He installed all new light fixtures. He installed a few new outlets and also a bathroom fan. This is my first home and it was built in 1950 and needed an electrical upgrade. Going into the process, I had zero knowledge of what needed done or what I was getting into in terms of cost/work. I had two quotes that were basically telling me I needed a full re-wire. This is a major project- permits need pulled, holes all over the house, and with all the work comes a hefty price tag. While these quotes were likely fair price wise; it was clear, after I spoke to Nick, that I was up-sold a lot of unnecessary work. Nick came to give me the quote and even crawled into the attic (neither other company did that) and explained why the full re-wire was not necessary. He cited many specific examples, that even I, guy with zero knowledge, could understand why what he was proposing was safe and sufficient for the size of my home. He saved a SUBSTANTIAL amount of work on this house. I cannot overstate how much work he saved. Once he got going, there are many little things that did not go unnoticed. The house is old, there will certainly be more work to be done. Anytime he saw something to look out for or I could do down the road, he pointed out to me. I had some water damage in some drywall from before a new roof was on. He sunk a bunch of screws in the area to fix the bow and make sure it wouldn't fall apart. I had lazily hung a towel rack into dry wall; it was loose, he sunk some anchors in and fixed it while he was working in the bathroom. There are many other examples in the few times he had to stop by to work. He did not have to do any of these things. He was just going above and beyond. As far as the electrical work; I live in a block house and there are many limitations to what we can and can't do. He explained everything to me clearly. Why we could do something or why we couldn't. He gave me great information and made many good suggestions about where or why to do something. The project has been completed and it's awesome. Everything looks much sharper. It's just way more efficiently set up all over the house. He did a amazing job. It's a nerve-wracking thing for a first time home buyer to undertake something like this that is going to cost thousands of dollars. I'm glad I found Apex/Nick. He was professional, honest, fair, and did excellent work. I could go on and on. He is a busy guy and I can see why. I'd recommend Nick/Apex to anyone who needs any electrical work done. Thanks Nick/Apex!

I had scheduled for two hours of work to get a couple things done, but the electrician kept insisting I fill those two hours with electrical tasks to maximize my money. He removed old knob and tube wires (safely) like they were cobwebs, installed a new ceiling fixture, replaced an outlet, added an exterior outlet, and showed me how safe the telephone wires are. He kept asking, "and what next...and what next". Eventually he refused a task because he wouldn't add a new outlet onto an existing knob and tube circuit. I appreciated that safety decision. I genuinely learned from him and his apprentice about electrical work.

We noticed mold around the electrical…read morepanel and had several different electricians as well as city technicians come over to take a look. Turns out the service work that All Wire Electric did (one that should last 5+ years) began failing catastrophically within 2. The panel was removed to reveal heavy water leakage INTO the panel, causing a severe safety concern. This would have been bearable if after contacting them, they felt that they could come address it. Not only were they not willing to make logistics work to have somebody to even inspect it until 2 weeks out, they were unwilling to apply a warranty to it and were planning to charge me in full for the repair. So if you're good with a company that won't stand behind their work despite posing a dangerous safety concern to your at home residents because it's "outside their 1 year timeframe", then feel free to use them. If you'd prefer not risk being blown up, I'd recommend another set of folks.

After a couple of hours, they were live again. How weird. So, I used the Yelp find a contractor feature and came up with Kelly at Master Electric. He replied within 30 minute of my original query, explained his pricing, and sent Josh out the next morning. This one was a tricky one, since the wiring in my house isn't exactly standard. Things are wired together in writers and unexpected ways. It took two visits and a second ejecting to find the problem, but we found it and got everything fixed. Along the way, Josh also pointed out a couple of other things that were not right and that I should deal with.
