Most classes usually have somewhere between 4 and 10 people in them, which is a good size! The coaches really get to know you and are constantly helping you improve your form and do the movements safely - and of course pushing you too. They do their own programming in house and I find I'm constantly being challenged by each workout. On the weekends sometimes they do events like Muscles and Margaritas which are open to the public and is always a fun time. Get a workout in, make some friends, and enjoy a beverage. I definitely recommend checking them out whether you're looking to join a new gym or you're here on vacation and need to drop in, the owners are super friendly and I know you'll enjoy your time there!

Crossfit classes are challenging but very rewarding. Coaches take time to explain and demonstrate the workout with the proper techniques, they also show scaling options. Coaches pays close attention during class and gives you feedback. Classes are well organized, and everything can be managed through their app. Which is a very convenient way to reserve a class and track your progress. If you do not like working out here is not because of the gym, is just that crossfit is not for you.

I'm definitely not a pro but coming to Ilovekickboxing makes me feel like one! The staff is friendly and really motivating and the workout area is spacious. The classes start off promptly with a 15 minute warm up which ALWAYS kicks my butt! It's perfect for getting my heart rate up and prepares me for the six bag rounds. In between the warm up and bag rounds, the trainer leads us through stretches and informs us of any specials or events going on during the month. The bag rounds consist of different combinations of punches and kicks and the trainer goes around making sure everyone understands the combos and is performing them properly. After bag rounds, we do partner rounds and it's perfect for the cool down phase. It's a bit expensive but there's different types of memberships offered. I got the 65 class card and I can come into the facility for any class time and it lasts for a year or until I run out of classes. The only thing I wish they would do is clean the mats between classes...definitely since most people workout with bare feet in the facility!! Overall I really enjoy the classes here and I love how they always have contests going on to boost our motivation!

The staff also would call and ask me several questions about why I'm choosing this gym and just all kinds of unnecessary things in my opinion so I had to quit answering the calls. There's nothing wrong with selling but sheeshhh, the sales thirst is real here. When I arrived to my first class I was given the grand tour then I received my free pair of gloves which were in the color black. I wanted pink instead and had to pay 15$ extra for that. You will also need to purchase wraps for your hands. so keep that in mind. when you purchase the bundle, only the gloves will be free. Long story short, I made it to my first class and loved it. The instructors are really good, and take there time with you. But of course after completing my first class more sales pitching was pushed my way. I wish they would start trying to sell you the membership after your last class which makes sense because damn Pam, its my first class, can I try all 3 to determine whether I want to join or nah? What was more annoying was the membership fee which was a whopping 145$ per month for 12 months! With an initiation fee of 150! but if you sign up your first class (hence why they pitch the member ship to you so soon) the initiation fee will be brought down to 50$. I was sooo looking forward to getting a membership here. I really like this place, its a very fun way of working out compared to the gym but 145$ a month is not affordable for me. I used to belong to Title Boxing and there membership was only 74.99 so I came in expecting a price point of that nature not 145$. Oh well, back to the gym I go.

It's a…read moresmall family owned martial arts school and you can really feel that family atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming they make you feel like part of the team right away. The facility is clean and well maintained and you can tell they take pride in their space. Starting in 2026 they'll be introducing a dress code so everyone trains in the same uniform which I think is a great idea to build unity. Each class is about an hour long and for adults there's a sparring session afterward at no extra cost just people helping each other improve. It's been an awesome experience so far and I'm looking forward to continuing my training here.

We have had some incidences on the bus, some things at school, some things at aftercare. All things that definitely upset me as a parent. Things that made me just want to shrink myself and put myself into her pocket so I could pop out when necessary. I know that's just not possible. After these Incidents we talked to officials at all places. They try their best at all these places. Unfortunately they just cannot be everywhere all the time to keep other children from acting like arses. Witty comebacks and telling the teachers, officials etc is just not enough in today's climate. We came and checked out Tiger Academy of Martial Arts. Staff is super pleasant and attentive. We did the two week trial. We watched the classes and talked to our daughter. We decided to sign up for classes. A couple of weeks ago an incident happened at school during lunch. Two children (one a play date friend) one a classmate. One pushed her. One was talking rude and accusing her of cheating at thr game they were playing. Let me tell you what happened: She not stood her ground. She calmly spoke to both children. She called the one on his language and cheating accusations. Calling him on havingngame rules he told no one. She calmly talked to her friend who pushed her and told her flat out. Not to touch her physically because no one has the right to do that to anyone. What happened was a shock to me. Both children actually responded in a positive manner. They were all able to move forward. When she came home and told me about the incident I have never been more proud of her. She told me that stood up for herself because of Tiger Martial Arts. She said what she learns in class helped her feel confident enough to handle the moment. Between the student creed, classes the amazing Sensei's and staff , home practice and friendship and family atmosphere, we have definitely landed in the right place. What our daughter was able to do in the moment rl is priceless. It's a step towards a positive correct direction of not taking any shit off anyone. I highly recommend checking them out. It could change your kids life.

The trainers are far superior to any in your local gym. I had a membership at Golds/One Life, a yoga studio, a small women's gym, and the Rec Centers over the years and the programing, training, and overall atmosphere of the Compound is immeasurably better. I will be a member of this facility for as long as they'll have me. I am so appreciative that Compound CrossFit became my second home - my Virginia family!
