I did like this gym when I went there. I got transferred and froze my account in hopes to return there after a few years. They unfroze it without my knowledge after a while, so I called to cancel my membership knowing that I would probably not get back to that area. I called and they said that I would have to either mail a letter saying that I want to cancel or come in. I now live over 1500 miles away and obviously can't come in. How is a letter any better than me calling? Why is cancelling a gym membership this difficult? The customer service here has always been mediocre at best. read more

I've been a member on and off since 2010. I love this place. They have lots of options for working out, the place is clean and the people that come here are nice. I've tried other places but I keep coming back here even though I have to drive further. It's worth the trip. With the monthly price being so low, I can certainly afford the gas. read more

You can tell a lot about a place and their integrity, especially when it's time to leave. Nothing wrong with the facility itself, but I canceled at this gym due to work travel abroad and kept getting charged. I went in a few months later to address it, once I noticed it on my statement, and rather than get any type of professional exchange, some arrogant kid with a man bun started telling my I was wrong and arguing that I never canceled if I couldn't provide the slip proving it. He then writes some stuff in my folder, tells me I'll get charged one more month and gives me a sarcastic "you have a nice day" and turns away. Guess what... he didn't hand me a cancellation form that time either. This is why we don't leave kids in charge. Classy. read more

I've been a member here for almost two years and I love it. You can't beat the price- $10.99 a month. This gym has everything you could possibly need no matter what your workout style is. They have a wide array of machines, plenty of dumbbells, free weights, squat racks, assault bikes, row machines, stair masters, an entire separate cardio room for treadmills & ellipticals, Astro turf and more. The facility is always spotless, and I've seen workers cleaning the equipment in the morning during their slow times. There are spray bottles located throughout the gym so the members can clean their machines after they use them. The owner, his wife, and the workers are all really nice and speak to you when you walk in. There is a kids room that only charges $1 per hour per child, or you can pay an extra $10 a month for unlimited kids room. Lastly, the members here are just as awesome as the facility itself. Everyone is polite and cordial of each other, and I've made quite a few good friends just because I've met them at Fitness 19. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I have going to gyms my whole life and have never felt so uncomfortable in a gym space. I have not had an issue when I come here in the evenings, the staff is so sweet and nice! but since my schedule change I have to go in the mornings now. Well the owner is there in the mornings and she's not the most pleasant person in the world. I had one conversation with her and ever since then gives me nasty looks when I come in now. I was nothing but nice to get during our conversation but she w had an attitude the whole time. I just want to come in get a good workout in and then leave. Should be a positive environment but doesn't seem that's how the owner wants it to be. I stopped going in for a week or so in hopes it would change but nope. Disappointing to say the least trying to find a new gym now, which sucks because I love how close this is for me but onto the next. SAD SAD SAD how people can't just be kind to everyone now a days, should want people to feel welcomed not like they can't enjoy their workout because the owner is rude to you and makes you feel like you can't do anything in a gym YOU are paying money to go to. read more

Does this place cuddle you in luxury and spa music? No, but if you're looking to get it in and get your fitness on in a clean, high end equipment facility, this is your place! The only downside for me is the insane amount of high school boys trying to flex after 5:30. Love this gym though. read more

I had my bank hacked and all my accounts changed. I was on automatic payments with Fitness 19 which didn't go through in January. I didn't realize this until I got a phone message on January 26. I then got a nasty letter claiming they had tried to contact me repeatedly dated January 30. If this is how they treat long time members I'm gone. I wasn't contacted except for that one call. read more

I like Fitness 19 in Westerville (see my review) but this place is not up to those standards. First of all it's way too hot in the building. It's literally a sweatbox. I don't mind getting sweaty when I work out but I don't like being in a sauna and sweating before I even get on a machine. Secondly, all the machines were in use and I had to wait for a bit (not too long though) on an elliptical to open up. The place was literally packed. I don't know if this is normal or just an odd timing thing but there's too damned many people. Next, they don't sell any waters or Gatorades like the place I normally go to in Westerville so if you don't bring your own then you're out of luck Lastly, and most disturbingly, they don't have paper towels to clean off the machines. Instead they just have kitchen-gym type towels which get re-used. By everyone. I shudder to think how filthy those things are. I'm glad I won't be here in Chesapeake for too long as I would not be a member of this gym if I lived here. Especially after seeing their sign for $19.95 per month which is twice what I pay for my Fitness 19 Westerville membership. read more

The gym itself is alright. It has everything you probably need but just not enough of it - as in you will likely end up spending an extra 20 minutes or so waiting for equipment as simple as a squat rack or bench press on any given day after 4pm. read more

I've been a member for well over a year and while you can't beat the cost it's becoming more and more like a high school gym class if you go after 4pm. There's an influx of high school "dudes" who seem to mostly congregate and do little lifting. Those that do lift refuse to put the weights back or wipe down the equipment. The high school aged girls that show up are dressed in barely any clothes at all making it quite uncomfortable for those of us who are of, let's just say of legal age. Sports bras and volleyball shorts that are barely there are not appropriate attire for minors still in HS, especially in the #metoo age. Aside from the HS KIDS that are making up more and more of the folks who go it's a great gym at a great price. read more

Thanks! I have been a member here for over 7 years. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgable. Not sure why so many negative reviews are posted. Facility is always CLEAN with everything in working order. As with any gym there are going to be peak times such as evenings after work. The price is the most competitive in the market. I challenge you to find a facility of this caliber that can provide all they provide for less than the cost of a night out. read more

My family appreciates the reasonable membership fee of this gym but are concerned about a couple of things. 1. Wifi is offered but does not work consistently. When your working out and plan to use wifi for music that is really frustrating. 2. Some of the gym employees are not very helpful. When I asked about a guest pass he told me they were $5 a visit or $20 for the week. Everywhere online they are FREE! This is not the first time we've had less than helpful customer service. We enjoy the gym but really need wifi and good customer service. read more

Have been a member of the YMCA and One Life Fitness, but this is by far the best of the three. Newly remodeled, always clean and educated trainers. Open most holidays and even when it snowed. Familiar faces, as the members have been around for years. Some evenings can get a little busy, but that is the same for most gyms. No intimidation being a woman and going alone. read more

The gym is clean and constantly upgraded. Whenever a pad on any machine is worn out it is imediatly replaced. The whole gym is constantly cleaned and vacuumed you will not find a cleaner gym or one that takes better care of its equipment. read more

Best gym in the Hampton Roads by far. They have the friendliest staff, latest equipment, and great classes. Since I've started going there they've made so many renovations to the place, it is definitely a top quality gym for a great price. The trainers are all very approachable, and actually know what they are talking about. I would recommend this place to everyone, even if it may be a drive for some, it is worth it. read more
