The trainers are far superior to any in your local gym. I had a membership at Golds/One Life, a yoga studio, a small women's gym, and the Rec Centers over the years and the programing, training, and overall atmosphere of the Compound is immeasurably better. I will be a member of this facility for as long as they'll have me. I am so appreciative that Compound CrossFit became my second home - my Virginia family!

I had my butt handed to me but I DID IT! I went with her because I noticed that she lost weight and looks fit. And I am sick of not being in shape. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and the coach Stewart was very nice and positive! I love that they own this one and 1st Colonial and I can use both. I am not sure about the membership yet but I need to push myself and go back if I expect to see results. They aren't any more expensive than any other gym like this with classes. They also have an app which I hope I use. I will keep you all posted on my results after a few more classes.

This facility has brand new equipment and a great location (close to Busch Gardens) to boot. Another great factor is the safety. They are right around the corner from a police precinct. I signed up for this online free programming full of bodyweight workout I could do at home just to see what they offer. I never got to the workouts but I did look over them and liked them. About a week and a half later, I received an email from Dianne(the gym's owner). She wasn't pushy about me coming in and seemed genuinely interested in me as a person. I met her on a Saturday while running errands. Her and I talked about my goals, what I'm hoping to get out of her gym, what i'm looking for, and what the gym offers. All of it was amazing and I had such a good feeling from the gym. Upon entering the gym with her, the nutrition coach complimented me on my Lululemon shorts. This was a big bonus because we talked about why the clothes are worth the price and how it impacts a workout-when women feel good, they do good. In addition, I noticed someone had brought their dog and Dianne made sure to tell me dogs are welcome as long as they don't distract from the workout. As a woman who loves her dog, this was an awesome surprise! She also mentioned they have open gym and the "intro" class isn't some super long drawn-out course. I loved all of it. I tried out a workout the next day and LOVED IT. The coaches were helpful with ensuring everyone in the class had correct form and knew how to do each movement properly. They also made sure everyone in the class knew proper progressions and regressions for each movement. Me and Buddy(my dog) can't wait to join! He loved it as well.

They unfroze it without my knowledge after a while, so I called to cancel my membership knowing that I would probably not get back to that area. I called and they said that I would have to either mail a letter saying that I want to cancel or come in. I now live over 1500 miles away and obviously can't come in. How is a letter any better than me calling? Why is cancelling a gym membership this difficult? The customer service here has always been mediocre at best.
