Amazing coffee spot in a cool Walnut Hill complex…read more I like the vibe here and their coffee is always on point. I've only been during the day and always spend a little time working before a coffee meeting. The WiFi is always good and the coffee is great. The ambiance is very open and inviting as well. They serve small bites as well but I haven't really partaken. Additionally, I think they have several beers on tap and they appear to all be cool local brews. If you're looking for a good local coffee shop with a vibe, this may be your new spot!!

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.

Smooth, bold, perfectly balanced... it's become his non-negotiable order, and honestly, I get it. I don't usually grab anything from the bakery case, but everything always looks so fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented that it's tempting every visit. You can tell they take pride in what they offer. Circle is consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. It's the kind of service that feels genuine and makes you look forward to coming back. Whenever I'm in the area, Merit Coffee is an automatic stop -- great drinks, great people, great vibes. Always a highlight! P.S. There's always folks working here, so it must be a popular spot to answer a few emails.

Super cute space, great music, and a cool, relaxed ambiance that immediately makes you want to stay awhile. There were about a dozen seats total and it was roughly 80% full, which felt lively without being chaotic. The two girls behind the counter were absolute sunshine--warm, bubbly, and genuinely welcoming. That alone made the experience feel good from the start. Service was also lightning fast; my drink was ready in under two minutes. Now, the letdown: the matcha. They don't make actual matcha here. Instead, it's a pre-made mix that gets heated and combined with whole milk. For matcha lovers, this is... disappointing. The flavor was extremely bland--drinkable, sure, but uninspiring. I'd have it again only if there were no other options nearby. And that's the thing--this location is very close to the Civic Coffee area, which makes it hard not to recommend going there instead if matcha is your priority. All that said: great ambiance, pleasant experience, friendly staff, and moderate pricing. Nothing bad happened here at all. Just don't come expecting a proper matcha moment--this one's more vibes than flavor.

Please note that parking in this area is particularly difficult but if you come in the morning, it should be easier to find. Another thing worth nothing is that they are more of a quick standing coffee bar type of place and I definitely wouldn't recommend it for families or kids, so keep that in mind when visiting. Now to the food... They have a small but mighty menu for breakfast and lunch. For my first time I decided to try their The Monte Duro, which is a pastry style "hot pocket" with smoked prosciutto, mortadella, mustard and jam. For drink I decided to go with their Dirty Chai Latte. The drink was absolutely perfection and exactly what I needed in a warm Texas morning. The space is small, but with cute, tiki vibes. If you are only ordering coffee and pastries, you can also sit in Half Priced Books or on their patio. - Service: For a full service meal, La Casita is order at the table. I recommend a reservation for weekend brunch so you can guarantee a seat. If you just want pastries / coffee, you can order at the counter. Expect a line during busy times, but it moves quickly. On my most recent visit I saw they added mobile ordering. The employees at La Casita always provide great advice on what to order. - Food / drink: The La Casita pastries are hands-down my favorites in Dallas. I love their monthly rotating items (only Saturdays and Sundays). You must visit in October for their Halloween specials! One of my favorite standard menu items is the ham and cheese croissant. Their drinks are also top notch. I love the ginger mint matcha in the spring and sweet potato latte in the fall. The salted honey matcha and Turkish lattes are great standard options. If you're able to get a seat, the food is not to miss! I think they have some of the best chilaquiles in town. The banana praline pancakes are perfect for a sweet treat and the sandwiches are great if you want something more savory. In the evenings, this location turns into a tiki bar. I haven't tried their evening food yet, but I enjoyed my cocktail when I went in the evening and I hope to try more evening food and drinks soon. I also have to give a shout-out to their to-go drink containers. They are compostable and their large size folds up so you can get the perfect sip without a straw or a gaping hole. I hope more businesses take note and start to use these too! - Value: La Casita provides fair portion sizes for the price, especially the sit-down brunch items. Everything is made with the highest degree of quality so it's money well spent!
