Just wanted to say I've been going to the dentist office for the past year each and every time that I made appointments they have taken such good care of me. The service they have provided me with has been off the charts I would recommend anyone to come and get work done on there teeth. They seem to go above and beyond to help you with your needs. Had a bad feeling the first time I went there because the dentist seemed a bit arrogant right off the bat. I told them what my insurance would and would not cover, yet they went ahead and submitted a request to my insurance company for a 3-tooth bridge. They wouldn't even tell me what that would have cost out of pocket. They seem very secretive about their fees. When they called me to tell me the insurance wouldn't cover the bridge, I was livid that they even contacted the insurance company after I told them it wasn't covered. My second experience was even worse. I had ex-rays and a cleaning, and right away they want to do a deep cleaning which is not covered, 2 or 3 crowns, which are not covered and a couple bridges, again...NOT COVERED! I even asked him point blank, "what would a crown cost?" He would not tell me. When I said those things were out of the question because I am on disability and do not have the income to pay for these things, or the power to borrow on that scale, which would be in the tens of thousands, he got even more arrogant, rude, loud and obstinant. He very loudly told me that he had to submit all his suggestions to my insurance wether they would cover it or not or he could lose his license. I'm not sure, but this sounds like a crock to me. Dentists for the most part are all about the money. If they weren't, they'd be driving Chevy's and behaving like true healers helping people who can't afford their ridiculous fees. Needless to say, I left there very pissed off and I will most definitely be going elsewhere. I have always questioned why dental care is not covered under regular medical insurance, when it's known that poor tooth and gum health can lead to heart and lung, even brain disease. Why is it that health insurance covers brain surgeons, but not the "elite dentists"??? It's like a cult, or a secret society...creepy and disturbing. read more

I had two out of three root canals get abcessed because they never fully cleaned out the root chambers which caused me to be on antibiotics for over a month and have to have an apicoectomy on the two teeth by an oral surgeon. I now have a mouth full of stitches and my face is swollen and painful!! read more

Hard to know where to start. My adult son started going there because it was convenient. He needed major work done and had been putting money aside for over a year. During his first couple appointments he gave them $4,000.00 to start. He had 2 root canals and the assistant made his temporary bridge....not the dentist but the assistant. She took the impressions over his appliance (the appliance was similar to invisalign) which was was ridiculous to start with. Because of that the temporary teeth did not even reach the gum line. The dentist checked it and let him leave. What a mess. This was a 3 tooth bridge and each tooth had swirls in it like a peppermint candy in different colors none of which matched the color of his natural teeth and a large gap between the teeth and the gum line. The bridge is right in the front so it really was noticeable. I went back to the office with him and demanded it be done over. This time the dentist did the work which was not much better and still not done properly. While the Dentist was attempting to redo the temporary he preceded to back the bus over his assistant stating that she did it wrong. But let's not forget that the dentist checked it before he left and thought it was fine. Then he fired his assistant who had no business doing that type of work in the first place and I am sure was told to do it by him lol. Nice guy! The list of work needed to be done included implants which the dentist was on board for. After this disaster my son canceled the permanite bridge before it was ordered and went to a new dentist. Thank God he did. The root canals that this dentist had just done need to be watched because it appears there may be some infection way at the end of the root and the two posts that he put in are too short. So they need to be done over. Also, he is not a candidate for implants because it is too close to his sinuses. OMG you go to a Dentist thinking he will do right by you and then get this shotty work which if he continued could have caused so many problems. To the best of my knowledge there are only two Dentist who work there.I had a filling fall out and could not get in to my dentist as fast as I needed. I figured it is a filling no big deal and had an appointment with the other Dentist WRONG! I sat in the chair they took an Xray. The Dentist came in said it needed a root canal and he could do it right then and there. Then the girl from the front desk came in and on a yellow sticky note which had $1,400 written on it.(it was a little more then that but I can not remember the exact amount so close enough). They wanted the money right then and there. Just very shady to say the least. I decided to go to my Entidontist who was about 1 hour away. Thank God I went. He examined me and said who said you need a root canal? I told him and he said you do NOT need a root canal you need a filling. So what the hell! This practice, in my opinion should be closed.They just care about the money and not the health and welfare of the patients nor the quality of their work. We are now in the process of contacting our lawyer and the Dental Board so maybe this may prevent them from doing this to someone else.We are also looking for the $4,000.00 to be refunded. Every time my husband and I visit Matamoras Dental for an examination and cleaning, we marvel how the place in NY that we used to visit is still even open. Matamoras Dental is welcoming and inviting. They have one of the best waiting areas ever. They have a huge television on the wall, a stunning view of the Delaware River and Port Jervis, NY and a fantastic looking aquarium to entertain the young ones. All my experiences so far have been most favorable I would recommend this office to everyone without any reservations. read more

I will be leaving this practice. Today was the second visit in a row where the actual dentist was not there. 6 months ago they said he had hand surgery and today they said he was at a training. And this information was given to me at the end of my cleaning-both times. The hygienist is rough and painful. She doesn't ask you how you are doing nor give you an idea of what's she is working on next. It's clear she is just going through the motions of her job. It's a horrible environment. At least the receptionists are friendly but they seem to change really often. While the horrible hygienist remains every time I am there, I have never seen the same receptionist there. My advice: do not go here. Find another place. read more

All I ever wanted was to be able to do is smile. Thanks to Dr.Syed and his wonderful staff that dream has come true. After 60years of hiding behind my hands or other people I now stand front and center and laugh with no fear. I don't run away when someone brings out a camera. All of this was made possible by Dr.Syed. I was very apprehension but after my first visit I felt like I was going to achieve my dream. Dr Syed did full dental implants (top and bottom) and I was catered to every step of the way by his wonderful stall and the Dr. Himself. The whole procedure was relatively painless and never was left looking like I was under going a major dental procedure. From the very beginning I had a smile that I could be proud of. Worst receptionist and billing practices I have ever had to deal with!! Claim was put in wrong and they keep calling and harassing me for the money when my appt was covered at 100%, they need to go through the Insurance company not harass the patient!!! Only giving one star because it requires to give atleast one to leave a review!! Otherwise I'd give them none!! read more

I had previously been very happy with this office up until today. That is probably because I always showed up there with either cash or my checkbook! My husband went in today for an emergency appointment because he was having severe tooth pain radiating up to his eye socket. They took an x-ray and told him he needed a root canal done and that it would cost $600 (we don't have dental insurance, just a discount plan). When he told them he didn't have it on him and asked if he could be billed, the dentist stopped working, walked out of the room and the assistant proceeded to take off the bib. He looked at her in shock and asked "are you really going to just leave me in this pain because I don't have $600 in my pocket?" She said that the procedure has to be paid in full before it can be done. He then asked about having the tooth pulled. She left, then came back in and said he had to pay $185 first before they would pull the tooth. Now that I am thinking about it, yes, I remember that they would do the same with me...stop mid-work, come in and tell me how much the procedure would cost and I would have to pay them (while still sitting in the chair!!) before they would continue! So, if it weren't for Zelle and me being able to send my husband the money, they would have let him leave there in excruciating pain. Are they that desperate for money that $185 or even the $600 would kill them? Definitely time to find another dentist!! read more

I went to Matamoras Dental for cleanings which were paid by insurance regularly every 6 months. At one of these cleanings the drs aid I needed 2 caps. I decided I didn't want them done because I felt there wasn't anything wrong with my teeth and I hate getting caps. So I ignored their phone calls when they got an ok from my insurance companies (2) mine and my husbands. Well I got a toothache and had to call them but the dr broke his hand and I would have to go to the Warwick office. I had to pay cash 195.00 which I got back after the insurance paid them and I went after it. Problem though is when Dr Goldstein fixed it he drilled through my bridge and did a root canal leaving a hole in the back to be repaired. He prescribed antibiotics. I got sick on the antibiotics and called for something different. He had me come to his office 2 different times. I was seen for maybe 5 minutes, Had the girl take an X-ray each time and charged my insurance. Now my visits for cleanings are used up for nothing and I had to drive 40 min each way. I went back to Matamoras a year later, waited for more insurance coverage to kick in. The doctor is supposed to be back. I meet Dr Roy. I'm upset my doctor is still not available and I still have a hole in my tooth I'm keeping clean. So I decide to trust this dentist. He tells me oh we are doing the 2 caps. I said NO. I DON'T WANT THE CAPS DONE. I want you to fix the bridge only. So after insurance approved and I was told they would not cover it all, I agreed to bring $340. ? Of my own money. So I go to have the work done. While Dr Roy had me numbed up he did my bridge and gave me two caps that I didn't want and probably didn't need. What's worse is I had to go back there to have the permanent ones put in after he already did this to me. I will never go back there!!! read more
