If you care about your jewelry, take it elsewhere. If you have high attention to detail, take your jewelry elsewhere. I really hate giving negative reviews to mom and pop shops but this was such a bad experience. I had this place set a stone into a ring setting I already had. When I brought it in, the setting was perfect--current center stone was straight, prongs were beads and all the same length and straight. I asked them to remove the current center stone and replace it with a different one which was the exact same size. I've had this done in other places before with no problems and it shouldn't be difficult but obviously requires skill. When they finished it, the prongs were different lengths, they were not straight and the stone was tilted in the basket. I don't like to make a fuss about things (I'm very detail oriented and thought I would need to accept some deviation) so I kept the ring as is and thought I would get over it. You couldn't really see the issues unless you looked fairly closely at the setting (which I obviously am because it's my ring). It bothered me so much that I never wore it so I went back and asked them to fix it. Because it had been over a month, they charged me to fix it. They said that this could have happened through normal wear and tear but I'm not sure how that could cause different length prongs. Anyways, I said ok, fair enough because it had been a while. I pick up the ring an hour later and though it is much better, the prongs are still different lengths, the prongs are not straight and the stone is slightly tilted in the basket. I can see this without a loupe. The woman working there said that the prongs were strong and the stone wouldn't fall out and she said when you shake the ring, you can't hear the stone rattling around. I pointed out that the stone wasn't straight and this was similar to their last setting job. I told them that if "normal wear and tear" can make the diamond move in the basket so much, then I want the stone to be completely straight. She takes out calipers and a loupe and measures the differences and has me look at it and she keeps insisting that it's straight. Are we looking at the same setting??? I said that the stone definitely was not straight and showed her how one side of the stone was showing much more than the other side and the beads of the prongs looked different too. Some were flatter and some were longer and more prominent and two of them were literally curved and not straight. She kept repeating that the prongs were strong and I should have no problems. I again repeated that the stone is still slightly tilted and I was worried that it would tilt more with normal wear. What if I accidentally hit the ring on the surface of something hard? She then blamed it on the basket and said that it wasn't level and that's why the stone was tilted. So which excuse is it? Is the stone totally straight? Is it ok the prongs are not straight because it'll hold the stone in place? The basket wasn't straight to begin with? The ring was holding another stone 100% straight and the setting only had problems when they worked with it. I understand that there are risks to resetting jewelry because they have to heat it up, bend back the prongs and remove the current stone and reset it with a new stone but they have a bench jeweler on site and they should be experts in this. I paid almost $150 for a diamond to be set correctly and it's tilted with bent prongs at best. I own several other rings, two of which are platinum and the metal is softer than 14k yellow gold and have had no problems with them. I'm just going to take this ring to another bench jeweler and ask them to fix it. As I mentioned in the beginning, if you have high attention to detail and you want your jewelry to be handled correctly (and you don't want someone feeding you BS when you can see the problems with a naked eye), then go somewhere else. I would only come here if you're having something done and the results aren't visible (i.e., replacing a watch battery) or you're ok with an "eh" job. I should have listened to the negative reviews but wanted to patronize a local business. That was a poor choice. Go somewhere else! read more

I hate to give a negative review of any of our neighborhood businesses, however I would hate even more for someone's antique family heirloom jewelry to get messed up like mine... Master's Workshop Jewelry Repair off of Long Point and Blalock messed up my wedding ring trying to replace a diamond. I learned to take pictures before I repair any jewelry in the future, but the stones are very poorly aligned and it looks nothing like it did when I took it in to be repaired. They kept looking at it with a loom and telling me that it looked exactly like it did when I brought it in, but that it looked "bad" because it had an antique setting. I'm so heart-broken that I just busted into tears right in the store. The jeweler kept yelling from the back room in a foreign language and they told me that they could remove the diamond that was replaced free of charge but I was afraid to leave my ring with them again so I just paid for it and left in tears. They offered no solutions or sort of compensation whatsoever; my ring setting is completely ruined and two entire rows of diamonds on the left side are misaligned just after replacing one small diamond?? Impossible... Plus after posting my experience on Facebook through a neighborhood group page and I was shocked to find several other clients who had similar experiences. Do not take your jewelry for repairs at this location, they are not experts or professional in any form. read more

I've been here twice to replace batteries on 3 of my watches. The place sure is cheap but their batteries are worthless. The next day after they replaced the battery one of the watches stopped working. I took it back and they said that it wAs not the battery and that my watch probably was due for a cleaning. They said to leave it with them and that it would be $150. Of course I didn't leave my watch there. I brought it back home. A month later my other watch stopped working, I took it back and they told me the same exact thing, that my watch was due for a cleaning. I won't come back to this place. I would rather pay more for quality batteries that will last! read more
