We were in town on a business trip and looking for a good breakfast by Midway airport. Well, the reviews led us here and didn't let us down. This is a simple mom n pop restaurant and we felt at home when we walked in. Simple folks enjoying their breakfasts and staff that was very friendly. I opted for the 3 egg meat plate and that included the French toast. A nominal charge for the blueberries. I loved it all. The polish sausage though was AWESOME . The flavor was nothing like I've ever had and so genuine. I could eat a whole plate of that. All this and a very reasonable price. This will be my breakfast go to when flying out of Midway!

Great food and fast and friendly service. You definitely get your money's worth and more. I highly recommend Masters

Came here after the gym and will say it's a must. The service is good, bilingual which is a plus in my book. The menu had a good amount of options but I went with the Mexican skillet and couldn't pass up the tres leche churro French toast. All were amazing! But the whole vibe of the place was welcoming for myself and other customers coming and going. 4/5

The food was lovely, and incredibly flavorful and filling for the price. I was honestly shocked to see a place in Chicago this cheap and this decent, the interior is also quite pretty. Waiter was also super sweet! Stopped by multiple times to refill drinks, and just check in.

I forgot to review this whole in the wall breakfast restaurant when I was in Chicago but looking at my pictures it was definitely a memorable meal. We were looking for areal diner in the midway area and came across masters. The staff was friendly and the menu was hearty. It was busy in there for a random Thursday, we came towards the end of breakfast. It did take a while for the food to come out but once out everything was great. They refilled the coffee cups often, which is nice. Overall nice experience and everyone said their food was good.

Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to Masters Pancake House on 7/05/24 (Friday) for brunch. This was my first time coming here and I was so excited. I came at a perfect time (a little before 11 am) and I was able to get a table with no wait. Around 11 am, it started to get a little busy and some people had to wait for a table. Food: The food was really good. I was indecisive because they had so many great options to choose from. I was debating between the Two by Two or the Cinnamon Swirl Platter. I ended up getting the Cinnamon Swirl Platter (2 eggs, 3 cinnamon French toast, & choice of 3 bacon or sausage). I would definitely get it again. Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. It gives me old school diner vibes. I love me a good mom & pop restaurant. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was absolutely great. All the waiters I came across were very polite and were very attentive in refilling drinks which is awesome. Parking: It's located in a small plaza with a nail salon and a few other businesses. When I arrived, I found plenty of parking. I can assume & would say parking is hit or miss on a busy day. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great experience at Masters Pancake House. The food was really good, the prices were very affordable, and the customer service was really great. It's definitely a breakfast/brunch spot and closes early. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving breakfast food. I hope this review helps Masters Pancake House & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

The food was excellent. The egg was a little well done for my taste, and I hate folded eggs. Other than that, it was delicious. The. The waffle sandwich was half a waffle; I missed that part. I would have liked a whole waffle with the eggs and bacon. All my food needed additional seasonings. I had to add salt and pepper for taste to the egg, and potatoes. The bacon was what I call paper thin, in the future ill order a side of bacon. The service was attentive and very welcoming. The space is awesome. A good spot to meet and chat while having a great meal. I do recommend this spot. If you are on your way to midway Airport, its perfect for a quick bite leaving or returning.

I'm here at Master's Pancake House 5265 S Cicero, Chicago, IL not far from midway airport trying something different and out of my area. The customer service was amazing the food was ok.. I had three eggs over easy, hashbrowns, a ribeye medium well and French toast. The ribeye was not seasoned that well but it was tender. My hashbrowns were a bit darker than I prefer and not seasoned as well.. The French Toast was just ok.. they have a Friday French Toast special and a Wednesday Waffle special. I'm not mad at it but I was not really impressed by the food.. It's really cute in here and the customer service was exceptional.. I ate the food I just wasn't really impressed.. The portions were nice and if on the way to the airport and there is time I would try it again. But I wouldn't make this a first choice.

The thick French toast and eggs were great. The sausage was good but could've been cooked longer. I ended sitting at the bar because the table wait times were 25-30 minutes but I didn't mind. It's a diner-esqe feel. The servers were nice and helpful. I would definitely go back

So when Hanabusa Cafe appeared on my search for brunch in DT Chicago it was a no brainer for me. I dragged my husband with me first thing in the morning so that we don't have to wait in line. Thank Goodness there was no line but the menu was a little confusing. They gave us a menu and we had to order in line first, and of course it being our first time here, we were attracted to the pictures and didn't notice the handwritten strawberry cream flavors (also our heads were down reading the menu rather than up looking at the TV advertising (which has the SC flavor - obviously we missed out on that). I had checked the menu on yelp before going and already knew I wanted the earl grey pancakes. When we got there, I saw that there were two favorites. I asked our teller which would he recommended between the fan-fav of Custard Vs the Earl Grey. His answer was "... well... they are very different flavors..." and that was as descriptive as he got -- so I just stuck with my Earl Grey. My husband told me I was being a butthole and why did I ask for their recommendation if I was only going to go with my original. I told him I asked for their thoughts and recommendations and he didn't really sell it to me, duh! I'm very aware that those are two different flavors but maybe if they can tell me more about the flavors and why he liked one over the other, I may have been sold. Be excited about what you sell/serve! Anyway. The husband had the plain and I had earl grey and no regrets. Only regret I had was not being able to go again before we had to leave Chicago and my husband's regret that he didn't see the strawberry cream earlier as he would have gotten that one. So don't miss out on that! 1 star down because service could have been better.

While I wasn't a big fan of the taste of my drink and dessert, my friend enjoyed both of theirs. Rather, the service was excellent and the views were amazing. My friend ordered The Rocher for dessert, which includes hazelnut cake, mascarpone chantilly, and smoked maldon salt. I ordered a Baked Alaska, consisting of citrus cake, lemon cream, toasted meringue, and salted white chocolate crunch. We both also ordered cocktails. I cannot recall the name of the drinks. I asked for my drink to be fruity and sweet, but it wasn't enough of either for me. The Baked Alaska was fine but too much of various flavors. I wouldn't fault the restaurant for the drink or dessert taste as I know others really enjoyed theirs. Our server was most attentive and very helpful. We found that making a reservation on Open Table only offered a certain number of time slots, and all of them involved having dinner and not just drinks or a dessert. Reservations can also be made on their website though we chose to speak to the front desk about a reservation. Going up to the bar is first come, first serve though. We ended up making an Open Table reservation and were told it was okay to only order drinks and desserts. Cindy's is named in honor of Marian "Cindy" Pritzker, a beloved Chicago philanthropist. It sits on top of the 13th floor of the hotel under a glass atrium and offers views of Millennium Park, Lake Michigan, and beyond. Cindy's Rooftop is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 12 Midnight, Saturday from 10 AM to 12 Midnight, and Sunday from 10 AM to 11 PM. I would assume a place where the newest thing since the 1980s is the security camera would have vinyl with more cracks and patina than my trusty old leather jacket! But no, it's in fantastic shape. Especially given that, the vibe in here is awesome! It's like stepping through a time-portal. For food, I ordered an old favorite: Pigs in Blankets. The food came out fast, though, to be fair, there was only one other person dining in at the time. The sausage links were crisp, and the pancakes were lightly sweet and fluffy. All in all, great! While perhaps not enough to summon the Michelin Guide inspectors, it was better than the average greasy spoon. Finally, I really appreciate that the prices are reasonable, and that there is parking! Final verdict: I've had a small handful of spectacular breakfasts. I've also had criminal breakfasts, where two unsalted eggs, two bacon strips, and a tablespoon of potatoes costs $14.95. Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House finds itself in that sweet spot in between - it is neither a spectacular spot (often have prices to boot), nor is it an overpriced, underwhelming greasy spoon that stays in business thanks to regulars who have been coming for decades and don't want anything better.
