This requires a lot of work, and this is ot a non-profit shop. I brought in several old Mcintosh vintage pieces. They needed a lot of work. One ended up costing a lot more to repair than what was estimated. They stuck to the estimate and asked if I would not mind at least paying for the additional parts needed. They basically lost money restoring an MP1-4 (look it up it is rare). they did it as a labor of love. They told me few were made and only a couple had ever come through the shop. They restored a pre-amp, tuner and power amp as well as the MP1. John explained what could and should not be done to bring these back to pristine condition. This is an honest good shop with techs who love working on vintage gear. I have to check if they are back up and running after the fire. I hope so!

I have used John's expertise and services for probably close to 13 years now. He is the classiest most honest handpiece specialist out here. He knows what he has and what he can and cannot do. We have great handpieces but they do act up once in a while. I know who to call. He has great service...same day pickup and is quite efficient with his work. I also am amazed by his brilliant loyalty service. There have been numerous times where something is askew with a handpiece. I call John and he brings it back after picking it up in a very timely manner. If it's an easy fix and he's serviced the handpiece before... sometimes he charges a nominal fee or even he's done some quick repairs for free. HOW RARE is THAT? Shelter In Place review…read more Even before Shelter In Place began in the bay area, Apple stores shut down, and my appointment to repair my cracked screen was cancelled. My phone was still functioning, and I am in support of safety measures, so I didn't fret too much. As my cracks expanded, I did wonder when phone repair would become an essential service. If someone's phone is not functional and they are an isolated person, it would become a safety issue. A few weeks later, on a whim, I tried again with Apple to make an appointment. We pay the monthly insurance, so the repair would be covered. Apple offered me an appointment with Mobile Kangaroo, and I jumped at it. The service technician was smart, helpful, communicative, and practicing excellent safety precautions. My Apple insurance was honored, and everything was handled with maximum efficiency.
