Our problem: We have an irrigation system with 9 valves mapping to 9 different zones on the microcontroller. Zones 1-4 stopped working suddenly. Also our Zone 9 was disconnected and we had a separate "workaround wire" for Zone 9 which we never liked because it was a visible extraneous wire glommed on as a hack/workaround. Quote: Ramon came to our place and gave us an honest quote. No blanket solutions like "replace all the wiring", "replace all valves", "replace the controller", etc. Ramon has a device that can trace the electrical wires (from the controller to the valve) and locate the disconnect. No digging up of wires involved. Solution: Ramon showed up punctually for the appointment and found the disconnect. The previous crew had spliced bunch of wires which was susceptible to disconnection. Ramon put in the proper connectors and gave us a 5-year warranty on his work. Now all the zones are working nicely and no superfluous/extraneous wires. Ramon also replaced some sprinkler heads and drip outlets that seemed broken. Solid work and great value. Master Tech Irrigation is likely the most honest and capable crew in the Bay Area at this point. read more

this is the best service I have ever had. They have excellent service without overcharging. They respond quickly and we have a deal on the valve replacement over chat. Upon coming, they investigated the issue and realized it does not need valve replacement at all. the issue only needs a small adjustment with pipe capping. The most important, they did the repair for free. This is the best service I have ever had. They provide excellent service and wont over charge you. read more

Ramon came in and was very knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issues, and clearly outlined the pros and cons of each option. I felt confident in his workmanship and long-term choices (I had some cheaper options, but felt more confident in his expertise). For example he buried the drip line so we didn't have to worry about a squirrel chewing thru it. He was able to schedule something within a week. And he had installed multiple lines, and even cleaned up part of our yard in less than 1 day. Definitely recommend. read more

I contacted Master Tech after a quick google search for a technician to fix our leaky sprinkler head. Ramon came the next day to examine problem and fixed it within a day. Very professional and easy to work with. I would contact him again if our need arises read more

Responsive, efficient, down to earth, good price. Initial assessment for my water leak was free, most big companies charge at least $150 an hour to diagnose. He came for free, gave a good quote Had all the right leak detection tools, very professional, replaced some other unrelated irrigation parts that he felt were not done properly in the past Fair price and honest Would 100% go with him again but I hope I don't have another leak! read more

Master Tech came out to fix broken valves, after checking the valves, he found out nothing is broken and just the water line is turned off. We walked through all the valves front and back to diagnose all the lines. He answered all my questions and cleared my concerns, offered a great service. I will for sure to contact him again when something is really broken. read more

He did a great job !! Will surely hire him again for our irrigation needs ! His price was also very reasonable.

I had two underground leaks as well as some poor coverage on the back lawn. Ramon had everything sorted and in good working order in a couple of hours. I just had an outstanding experience working with Ramon from Master Tech Irrigation. The other day, I randomly discovered that 2 of my 5 sprinkler zones just stopped working. I had no idea what was wrong. Ramon diligently checked everything possible and found that some inspectors who were in our crawlspace accidentally disconnected a sprinkler wire. Anyway, Ramon is very knowledgable and charges very reasonable rates. I would highly recommend him. read more

My dad had a leaking pipe issue that flooded his and his neighbor's front yards. Ramon came out quick to look at the problem and diagnosed the issue and provided a quote -- all complimentary. In the end, my dad wanted to go with his own gardener. I appreciated how responsive Ramon was. If it were up to me, I would have gone with Ramon so we could have been done with the issue right there and then. Instead it dragged on for a week with my dad and his gardener. Ramon is a nice, personable, and understanding guy. I will use him in the future when I can for sure. Highly recommend! read more

I had to replace my valve system, and Ramon came to take a look. He provided the necessary details (e.g. what work needs to be done, what brands he will use, and how much time it will take) as well as an affordable quote in a quick 15-minute visit. I also liked how he explained his scheduling and which days would be best for him since he travels around the Bay. On the day of, he came on time, got right to work and finished replacing the system in about 2.5 hours. I appreciated that he also said if we need any advice on anything related to my sprinkling system, I can freely contact him. I am very satisfied! read more

Ramon is very responsive and professional. A big thank you for his efforts assisting me.

This review is overdue, but add me to the list of very happy clients of Master Tech Irrigation. Having interviewed several contractors for this project, it was quickly apparent that Ramon is an experienced, irrigation expert and he would be able to address our needs. The project entailed mapping an existing irrigation system, replacing an aging controller, and identifying / fixing leaks. During that process, he resolved mismatched sprinkler heads that a handyman had used to band-aid a previous issue. He did also warn that he suspects other leaks may exist in the main line that will require more serious leak detection (but that's my next project). Due to rainstorms, I didn't run the system for a few weeks - after the first run, the water usage still seemed a bit high. I found a couple of issues after testing the individual zones (easy task with my new irrigation maps) and notified Ramon. I'm aware that leaks are inevitable but there was no debate whether these were new issues or simply missed the first time - he came back and addressed them at no charge, which validated why I chose to work with Master Tech. Ramon stands behind his work and recognizes the importance of building a long-term relationship/referrals. I will definitely call Master Tech in the future, and if you need irrigation help, you should too! read more

Ramon was extremely professional and patient. He thoroughly answered all my questions, and help me to find out a best solution. When he came out to do the job, he finished the work very quickly and professionally. Everything was done efficiently, and he left the area very clean. Worked with Ramon again on a separate issue involving a leaky valve for my irrigation system. Issue was urgent, and he showed up at my place the next day for repair. Pricing to repair the issue was very fair, and Ramon is such a pleasant guy to work with. I will continue to work with him on any future irrigation related issues. read more

Had to install a pressure regulator and vacuum breaker for our sprinkler system to protect our potable water and comply with plumbing code. Ramon at Master Tech Irrigation showed up to my house and gave me a fair quote, and was able to get started in a few days. Communication was easy through Yelp's messaging system. He showed up on time. He worked diligently until the work was done, which about 2 hours. He also made sure the sprinklers were working and at the right pressure. Payment was done easily over Zelle. He also accepts Venmo. Good work, quality parts, friendly service. read more

Ramon is the best! He is very professional, understands what is needed and does it efficiently and VERY quickly. AND his price is very reasonable. Highly recommend Master Tech Irrigation! The process was smooth from initial consultation to project installation. Ramon lead the project, kept me informed and answered all my questions. We had irrigation installed for our flower beds along the perimeter of our backyard, front yard and 4 raised beds. This was completed in 1 day without hiccup. Ramon and his crew (Ramon Sr and Marcos) were friendly and very respectful of our property. No plant casualties, and final results were better than expected. Extremely happy with the service. I needed to replace my ancient manual irrigation controller with a smart app-enabled modern irrigation controller. Master tech took my call promptly, gave quotes and options (even recommended me to not over-spend since my controller was in indoor in the garage) and came over on a Sunday and finished the job including setting up the program in the app. I highly recommend their service. read more

I have a big whole project in landscaping (brand new irrigation system plus 1600 sq ft lawn installation, transplant young tree, lay rocks 2 feet away from sidewalk plus planting succulents) . It was a lot cheaper to let regular landscaper to do the irrigation system, however, I have a well and need to install filter for the long term benefit of sprinkler heads. I don't want headache down the road so decided to go with Master Tech, specifically Ramon, he is well known on professional irrigation company, he also works for another company as consultant. After reading good review on him, I got more confident spending the bucks. Plus the 5 years warranty is very appetizing to me. Ramon is very knowledgeable on irrigation, plus his workers are all hard working. Master tech used very good quality material hence the price is higher than some companies. Quote is very transparent and I paid what I signed up for and the job is done what I paid. A month later there are weed grow up on the side due to inadequate weed fabric. Ramon came back to fix it which is what a good business should do. Tips to get a hold of them is to email (mastertechirrigation@gmail.com). Master Tech don't have a designated staff answering phone, if they do, I can imagine the price may increase for more administrative cost. Ruby will reply email and sometimes she is very fast. In term of quality and value, Master Tech is reasonable. Can not just look at the price, need to know what the material and skill level offer. I highly recommend Master Tech for your irrigation system. They are also able to do lawn installation for me because the job was done in early Nov. They are super busy in the summer and only do irrigation work. read more

Ramon and team are exceptional especially during this time where home renovations and garden needs are in high demand. He is extremely communicative, reliable, and puts his customers first. We had an irrigation system put in and have accidentally plugged a few holes in to the central pipe. Ramon responded quickly and with care to our needs. His work and the detail of the system is done in a way that should ward off having any fixes for years to come. I'm comforted knowing that we get the value spent on our irrigation system. Highly recommend and wished more service industries worked with such great customer service at its core. THANK YOU RAMON! read more

if I could give them zero stars, I would. They sat down with me, did an audit, I walked them through every single item that needed to be done. They sent me a quote, which included what I thought was the complete set of items. After the work was done, they claimed it was a Phase 1 and that they now need to quote me for Phase 2. I feel completely misled and apparently it's all my fault because I don't understand their jargon or their emails. The poorest quality customer service I can even imagine. read more

Last Nov, we let go of our gardener who has been managing our yard for the previous few years. As we took over the service ourselves, we noticed that many of my sprayers were not covering the lawn entirely and that a few plants were getting water, but others were not. Since the irrigation system was 22 years old and San Jose is moving forward with water restrictions, We felt this was an excellent opportunity to put more efficient sprayers and add bubblers. Since we had an idea of what we wanted but are not skilled in irrigation work, we reached out to yelp to get some quotes. Oddly enough, maybe because of Covid, most companies wanted us to send pictures of our existing system to provide us a quote over email. Of course, this wasn't an option as we wanted to meet personally the people that would be doing the work. After reviewing the quotes from those who did come out, we decided to move forward with Ramon at Master Tech Irrigation. Ramon was not the cheapest option, but what sold us was the information he provided us on the equipment he used, his five-year warranty, his company only focused on irrigation (Not landscaping), and his Yelp reviews. His team took two full days to update the entire system with minimal impact on the landscape. They replaced the sprayers around the grass with high-efficiency multi-stream rotators and a commercial-grade bubbler system with drips to every plant (including those in pots). Although he did not have to re-pipe everything, there were instances where my previous gardener had improperly added or patched a line. Now we don't write reviews often, and when we do, we wait a few months to make sure there's no buyer's remorse, and if there is a follow-up, we can provide that experience. Since work was completed, I've had to call his service twice for follow-ups. Since we were new to the bubbler world, the first call was an educational experience as we thought the bubblers were not working, but indeed they were. The second call was due to a leak that appeared from one of the bubbler lines. That turned out to be an old patched connection by my previous gardener that burst. In both cases, Ramon and the team were here within 24 hours to repair and educated us. I highly recommend if you just need your irrigation system looked at, repaired, or replaced, this is the company to call. Their price is competitive, and you will not be disappointed in their service and follow-ups. read more
