I had called and made an appointment to have my sprinkler system back in working order . Edwar came at the appointed time and we walked through the system containing 6 circuits with only 2 that actually worked. He tested the power at the main control unit checking for power and continuity. He went to each valve and checked for power finding and replacing the power solenoid that controls the valve. He went through and got each valve working. Also discovered leaking pipe causing low water pressure on that circuit. After about 3 plus hours had everything working like when it was first installed. Ramon provided top-notch professional service - I wish every repair could go this smoothly. He was on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. He patiently explained his reasoning at every step and answered my every question. The tricky thing about an underground leak is that it's difficult to know how hard it will be to fix without seeing it. So I can appreciate the reluctance most companies have to provide an estimate, instead needing to charge to dig and diagnose first. But from my side, if I hire someone to dig and diagnose the leak, I'm pretty much hiring them to fix it, because with a leak tied to the main supply line I don't exactly have the luxury of shopping around after it's exposed. Ramon was able to provide a reasonable quote based on my explanation of the previous fix done in the area. What pushed me over was a 5 year warranty, providing peace of mind this issue would not bother us again. After he completed the fix, I found a small leak in an unrelated irrigation valve. I asked him how much it would be to replace the valve, but I was surprised he suggested applying some teflon tape at the solenoid fitting, free of charge. It did the trick! I highly recommend Sprinkler System Repair (SSR). My backyard sprinkler system is controlled by 2 valves. The right side sprinklers have not worked for years but I let it go to save repair costs and watered by hose. But recently on the left side, water was trickling out of several sprinkler heads so I could tell it wasn't just a broken pipe or head. I thought it was the water control valve that was failing. Definitely, the left side needed to be repaired so the yard wouldn't get saturated. I made an appointment with SSR and they came over on time and we walked through the problem. I live in San Bruno and they are based in Fremont so I wasn't sure if their scope covered that much territory but it does. He came over and confirmed what I suspected with the valve. He could not repair it that day and we scheduled an appointment for later in the week. When appointment day came, their office called ahead of time to inform me they were behind schedule and could not make the appointment and needed to reschedule. I was disappointed but appreciated that SSR called me and did not flake and waste my time. These days companies don't always communicate with their customers. We rescheduled for an upcoming Saturday which turned out was the day I had long-awaited golf plans. I had to rely on my wife and son to work with Sprinkler System Repair. My family's interaction with SSR was great. Not only did they repair the backyard control valve problem but they also resolved some impromptu issues my wife brought up to them. I believe it speaks very highly of SSR's integrity that they repaired the backyard sprinkler system problem that I needed solving but they also did not take advantage of my family when I wasn't there and in fact, were very courteous and friendly. Excellent work and good price, as usual. This is the second time we have used Sprinkler System Repair. There was a leak in the underground pipe, just below the ground surface. Another gardener gave me a quote and estimated a huge, 6-foot hole to get to the pipe (ridiculous since I could uncover it with my fingers). Ramon at Sprinkler System Repair did the work for half the price; there was a cracked pipe joint which they replaced in half an hour. He also took a look at our sprinkler settings to optimize during this time of drought. Knocked one star off due to difficulty communicating. Their Peninsula (main) number is very busy and the mailbox was full. Luckily the Pleasanton branch number has a voicemail, but I think they only check every other day. Cannot call and speak with a live person, you'll need to leave a message and have them return your call. read more

We changed our old sprinkler controller into a new one. So this controller starts to mess up our 11 water stations. My husband and the electrician didn't know how to fix these wires. We were worried. I called and made an appointment to have a a malfunctioning valve repaired. He showed up promptly within the allotted time and diagnosed the problem as being electrical. Ramon repeatedly tried various times to get it going again and eventually succeeded saving us an expensive replacement of the unit. He then was also able to repair a small break in the drip line having the correct part with him. The price was very reasonable. The city began ripping out trees and roots on my street this month. As part of the process they used a tiller on the grass and ran over my meter box. This caused a water leak because the concrete meter box was sitting on my main line. The vibration/pressure from the tiller caused the 3/4" PVC behind the regulator to crack. EBMUD verified the damage done was on my end of the regulator so it became my responsibility. I began calling around on a Friday afternoon and found most plumbers either were booked, did not pickup the phone, or were not familiar with exterior irrigation/leaks repairs. I finally found Sprinkler System Repair through a friend. Ruby asked me to send her photos and also provided a price range over the phone. Since water was leaking into the street this was considered an emergency, so she quickly dispatched a technician (Ramon). To my surprise she also came on-site to oversee the job. This company is complete ripoff, adding prices for un-necessary works for given task. So i happen to ask an estimate for a sprinkler leak issue. Gus/Ruby came, they were completely hands off. Did not root cause the problem, just suggested to replace all values and sprinkler heads for leak! Even after asking them to diagnose issue, they seem to have little interest in knowing what problem is. Gave hefty estimate of $870 for the job. I got in another landscaper, who came, pin pointed exact leak and diagnose all of just $150. I do not recommend them at all. read more

Gus and his team are great - they showed up when scheduled and proceeded to do exactly the work agreed. They spent the whole day at our house (from very early morning, about 8am to mid-afternoon). Replaced several bits of hardware - big and small, tuned the otherwise tragically misplaced sprinklers. The job was big and messy, as much of it required digging and the like. They cleaned up the patio area and buried everything neatly, I really appreciate them hosing down our patio path because it got pretty dirty in the process and we have a 5 year old that loves to run around in that backyard Gus takes his time to give his customers options and discloses all of the information so you avoid nasty surprises in the future, we'll definitely be calling him again! Had a leak of about 700 gals/day in my sprinkler system that my gardening people could not find after several tries. This is a fairly big system with 11 zones on about 0.4 acres. Sent two others workers who had no idea what they were supposed to do. Worse yet, while trying to understand what I needed fixed, they talked to the dispatcher who sent them to another job. I have been meaning to write a review for Gus for a couple months now. We had a major sprinkler malfunction a while back (on a Saturday evening) where our sprinklers were on and would not turn off no matter what we did. My husband and I are new homeowners and had no clue what to do - we tried everything on our own before we called Gus. It was a saturday night at 7pm - even still, Gus was over at our house within 30 minutes.
