Decent work fixed my oil leak but have your car checked in a few other spots before coming here. They wanted to replace fans that are fine and run well. Already hard enough trusting dealers and now it's smalls shops. Also paper work stated that I need radiator replaced. But he called and said to replace fans. read more

The wanted to charge me $3000 to replace a bad power steering rack. I took my car to another mechanic, and they found that the problem was just a leaky gasket, which only cost $300 to fix, and the power steering rack was fine. read more

Called to get a estimate for a routine transmission service on my 2010 S4 that is to be done every 40k miles. When I called they said that they would not give me a estimate as they don't give estimates over the phone. I could understand this if I called to get a estimate for repair, not for routine maintenance. On top of that they said the only way they would service my car is if I paid $150 for a inspection. Absolutely ridiculous! Obviously they are just trying to grab money every way they can. I will just take my car to Audi of Tri Cities where they will do routine maintenance without a $150 inspection and provide a loaner. Don't waste your time with this scam shop. Since this review they have tried to contact my employer to have this review taken down. I guess the enjoy stalking people and harassing them when they don't like the truth being told. read more

Just an update to my post from last year... had my big 90,000 mile check up this week and I continue to be impressed with the above average service here at Master Tech Auto. My Saab is running better than ever and I attribute this to the high-quality products they use, their careful, thorough service and sound recommendations. I appreciate their prompt texts with the status of my repairs, as I am not always free to take a call. Early October: my check engine light starts to come on intermittently. October 19: spend $150 to have Master Tech "diagnose" the problem. November 4: spend $1000 to have Master Tech "fix" the problem. November 7: check engine light comes on again. I'm so furious there are no words, but since I no longer believe a word they say and have no intention of throwing good money after bad, I just have to chalk it up to bad luck that I picked this place instead of a decent one. This is a great shop, if mechanics were free and I had to pick between Master Tech and Meyers, I would choose Master Tech. Also Master Tech does not charge $200 an hour shop rate like Meyers does. Master Tech helped me identify issues with my Delica and provide a plan of action to move forward with repairs that work for me. read more

This shop was recommended to me last year and at this point I have made several visits for oil changes and also to have things looked over on my vehicles. I always felt a little uncertain of the things I was being told at this shop, as almost every time I visited something else needed repaired, but for the most part I assumed they were honest people that really just wanted to keep my vehicles in tip top shape. Boy, was I mistaken. Once again, during a standard oil change appointment, I was informed there was a rather costly repair that NEEDED to be made. I just couldn't believe what I was being told as I'd not noticed ANY issue. So, I took my vehicle elsewhere for a second opinion. WOW! Master Tech was COMPLETELY wrong about needing to have these things replaced on my vehicle. Could have been a simple mistake, but really, I highly doubt that. I now wonder if all the money I poured into their pockets over the last year was really necessary, or if they were taking advantage of my lack of automotive knowledge. I called them to see if they could service my 2019 gt3 touring. They assured me, they were a certified Porsche service business. I made an appointment, showed up and am a bit bewildered, by what happened. First, they overfilled my car with oil, causing it to smoke like crazy. They drained it and refilled it. It continued to smoke for awhile. Then they pretended they didn't understand what could have gone wrong. The very first thing that popped up when I did a simple google, was it was overfilled. Before I left, after paying for the oil change, they said the car would need new plugs and a deeper look. They said it was throwing codes and was miss firing. When I got home I called the Porsche dealership in Spokane. They assured me, the codes were all due to a recent battery change I performed. I went to the dealership, they checked the car out, registered the battery and sent me on my way. Not a single issue found. Definitely not miss firing. Hmm, I would not recommend this business for your Porsche, unless it's more than 20 years old. Not the pros they claimed to be, when I made the appointment. read more

Thomas and company are great! I am seriously delinquent in putting this praise out there. Master Tech Auto has kept my car on the road and improved its performance over the last several years. I normally just expect my vehicle to work, and I depend on it doing so. As we all know, every now and then stuff happens. Thomas and his crew have rescued me more than once when stuff has happened. What's been emergencies for me have been matter of course business for them. In short order and for very reasonable fees that have gotten me going again with minimal hassle. I am always glad to deal with Master Tech auto, and refer everyone in need to them. If you're not currently taking your vehicle to Master Tech for its regular and emergency services, you ought to be. So a few weeks back I took my 2002 Volvo with 213,000 miles in for Trans flush, Turns out to be the first one for this car. I want to say the service I received was Great. I found out about problems I didn't know I had. I want to applaud the Techs there for there ability to correct huge issues and to keep this car going. I never usually go out of my way to write a review but Master Tech definitely deserves the recognition. The guys there are always so warm, welcoming, and kind. They are able to get my car in and out for services super fast and at a fair price. They now also provide a link with service that shows a full report of what is being done on my vehicle and what looks good and what doesn't - with pictures. TLDR; Master Tech Automotive provides superb service with a personal touch. I have never been disappointed with their work, and I am never surprised by the price tag. Thomas and the gang are friendly, ready to chat about my car and the repairs it needs, and they are always willing to go the extra mile, like providing a pick up and drop off if I need a ride. My most recent experience was quite good - the check engine light on my car (2002 Honda Accord) came on, so I took it in. They diagnosed the problem (the distributor part had a defect*) and shipped in the new part over the weekend. Since the problem arose within 12 months of replacing the part, it was under warranty and therefore at no cost to me. Master Tech Auto goes a step further, and makes sure even the labor costs are waived if it fits within the warranty! Very pleasant surprise :) * The distributor part needed can only be ordered from one manufacturer, and sometimes they're faulty - nothing the car shop can do about it. Lame, but that's life with a 13-year-old car. read more

Apparently, if you receive your bill for repair, (as I did) you are NOT to believe the labor is warrantied, (the red square of lies at the bottom). After the bill I received for a major belt, (and alleged inspection of pulleys) guaranteed the parts and labor for 12 months or 12 thousand miles...this was a lie! So when you have the vehicle towed back for them to replace the belt, (that failed) they TELL you they will pay half towing expense....But Lies again. So...the owner, (leaves early and avoids you). I've given money, service, and 5 star reviews - when warranted, but Thomas, gave me 7 days with no vehicle for my wife, no honor or integrity in service. The only response you will receive is double-talk, "we only guarantee the parts". I honestly recommend the owner edit his billing to reflect NO Warranty on services provided. Sorry doubting Thomas needs to get some integrity for me to change this review. read more

If there is a better team of mechanics and people in the Richland/Tri-Cities area, I do not know of them. Thomas, Faith, and their team at Master Tech have been complete professionals who recommend what is best for your vehicle and what fits your budget. After my first repair, a transmission flush and fluid change, my vehicle's (an older SUV) highway mpg went from 21 mpg to just under 27 mpg. The next repair was much more daunting and scary; my vehicle clunked and clanked and bumped to a complete stop. One call to Thomas and he had a towing company pick up my SUV and within a few days, had the rear differential replaced and I was back on the road. Again, Thomas and the staff at Master Tech are wonderful professionals who do not talk down to you or throw around random technical terms. I came in desperate and looking to get my car fixed quick. The manager was friendly and eager to help. I already knew what was wrong with my car but I was far from my tools and forced to pay for a mechanic to help me out. I told the manager what I needed done and they quickly got to work. A short time later, he and the mechanic came out and told me that what I expected to be the problem was indeed the problem. I knew how much the part would cost but wasn't sure how much he would charge for labor. He showed me how much it cost. I seemed a little high but I was desperate and the faulty part was already removed so I told him to finish the job. While I was waiting, I called various shops and dealers in the area and asked how much they would charger for the same service. Each shop quoted a price almost 100 bucks cheaper. When the job was finished, I asked the manager why was his labor cost was so much higher. He told me that he goes off of what the "book" says the labor hours should be and that's how many hours for labor he charges. So I was charged almost 2 hours of labor for a job that took less that 1 hour of labor to complete. So basically, instead of charging me for the actual hours of labor proformed on my repair, he charged me what his "book" said he should charge me. What can I say? I was desperate so I paid. I took my wife's car in due to a coolant leak. I was told it would cost $79 to diagnose problem, was charged $86.60. After their initial look-see, I discussed the options with Thomas, he wanted to make sure we were on the same page as far as costs were concerned. He asked if I would pay $400 to fix the car, I said yes, he asked if I would pay $800 to fix the car, I said no. He commented that he would probably be able to fix it for less than the $400 rough figure. It certainly was a rough figure. The total cost of repair was $738. read more
