It took a couple of weeks for me to get my car back from when I first took it to State Transmissions. I was moving to Seattle and was waiting for my car to be fixed. Then the transmission blew.... it was supposed to have been rebuilt with new parts and be just like new! No..... not the case. I called State Transmissions to tell them the problem and the fight began. They wanted to take no responsibility, luckily my dad does know about cars and they towed it back in to fix it again..... This went on a couple of times before I finally went to AAMCO for a second opinion. They took a look at my car and found nothing but problems. They saved everything and showed us the parts that State Transmission had used. They were old parts that had been cut or shaved to fit back into my car. They had been telling us they were putting in new parts and I was sure paying for new parts! My car never ended up running the same again, it broke down so I finally had to get rid of it. I basically had to junk it. When I tried to get my money back all the owner did was lie lie lie!!!!! I turned him in to the better business bureau and he lied to them!!!! This car I had never ever had problems until the owner of State Transmissions worked on it. I have heard this from many other people, that they have had the same dealings with him. I just wish I would have heard it sooner! So please do not waste your money or time....... or chance of ruining your car!!!!!

I was not told about the fee until after they were done with my car. I told them I was not expecting this because I didn't ask for it & they didn't show any care or seem apologetic about it. Poor customer service & unethical business practices. I've been here multiple times, but will not be coming back. A $250 charge is a lot of money to not inform your customer of until after the fact. While the more extensive check was good, I did not need it nor did I ask for it. I would've gone somewhere else if I had known about the hefty charge.

I am so thrilled to have found Simmonson. We were very disappointed with the service we were getting at a local place, and I started asking around to friends and strangers who they trust to work on their European car, they all said go to Simmonson! From the minute I called to make the appointment I was met with a friendly voice who cared to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. I was hesitant, as we are fairly new to the area and I made the mistake in the past of getting a 'not so great' place to take the Rover. From the minute I dropped it off for service Sam was always in contact with me. I asked for quite a few things to be looked at, which were not done at the other local place, and they gladly obliged and also dug deeper into what should have been done. We needed quite a few different things, but Sam was always great with the communication and the costs for everything. I picked up an amazingly clean vehicle, which was a pleasant surprise. I have found my go to mechanics! I only wish I had found them sooner. When I started getting check engine errors I took my 2002 Porsche Boxster S to a franchise oil change shop. They promptly changed the oil but added far too much (nearly five quarts too much!). Then I started to get another engine error. I followed a recommendation to bring it in to Simmonson Automotive by another Porsche owner. I couldn't be happier. They diagnosed the engine error and found the additional oil before it damaged my engine. They were great a communicating what needed to be done and worked very quickly to resolve all the issues. I cannot recommend them higher! They have earned my future business! read more

I took my Porsche 911S to Simmonson Automotive on the recommendation of my previous mechanic, Curtis Messer who now works as Crew Chief for Carrus-Callas Porsche Race Team. They were able to troubleshoot a problem with the mass flow sensor that led to its replacement. My Porsche is equipped with a Fabspeed Performance Package (i.e. Cold Air Intake System, Headers, Exhaust and tuned ECU). No one had ever worked on my car other than the Porsche Dealership during its warranty period and Curtis post warranty. I am happy with the work they did, the car runs strong and no more "check engine" light issues. I would recommend Simmonson Automotive for others driving German automobiles. Don H. read more
