The first time, I brought three garments here and they told me it would take over a week. When I came to pick them up, they were still laying on the counter and hadn't been touched. One of them was a $400 dress and it was just laying out there wrinkled up. The second time, I called on Tuesday and asked if they could shorten a dress for a wedding that coming Saturday. He assured me they could do it. Showed up and the dress hadn't been touched! AGAIN. Now it's Saturday, I have to leave for the wedding in one hour and I have no dress. I'm also pregnant and can't just run into the store and pick one up real quick. Just don't come here. It doesn't matter how much time you give them, they don't take care of your clothes and they don't get them done in time. ***update: He was able to get my dress done in time for the wedding. I had a cotton skirt with a soft tule overlay that needed taken in at the waist and then shortened. It cost $86 which I thought was very steep. Sad thing is that after one use of the skirt the soft tule around the waistband was coming out. Very disappointing considering the amount of money I paid. It is hard to find a tailor in New Braunfels but I will not use this place again. I'd rather drive into San Antonio. I'll say that the gentleman doing the tailoring was nice enough even though he barely said a few words. read more

I've been over to their shop multiple times and every occasion they are very unprofessional and unenthusiastic to take a look at the items I've brought to be tailored. There was just an overall attitude that they really didn't need my business so why bother. Especially over the phone the gentleman I spoke with was very short in his answers and would tell me he was able to help with my problems but when I arrived in person, he decided he was no longer able to assist. Very bad customer service. Dropped of Driver uniforms for sew on patches. When I came to pick up, he had thrown the uniforms in a box. They were in the box 2 days. They were brand new, and the collars were folded and bent and shirts were wrinkled. He said my company didnt pay enough to get hangers and to bag them. We had to pay to have the steam pressed. Cost us more to go to this guy. Will never so business there again. read more

I went in with my daughter to have a formal dress let out. It was getting close to closing time so I'm sure he was ready to go. I tried to show him the dress but he said there was no help for this gown and sent me away. I even asked if he could add a bit of fabric to it and was told no. I took a blouse in to have the sleeves sewn. I don't like the open shoulder look or the open seam below the elbow. When I picked it up, it looked like a 5 year old had been set loose with a sewing machine. It was stiched on the outside, and the stitching was not even straight. 0 STARS IF I COULD!! I walked in and an Asian lady barely looked up from her international tv show she had playing on her phone. I wanted to be measured for a suit, as I was buying 3-4 suits to have tailored. An Asian guy came out from the back and measured me in about 45 seconds then charged me $5.41 to measure me. When i challenged him on why he was charging me, he said that he had operational expenses and that the business needed to make money. No where was there a price list to be charged for this, nor did he tell me ahead of time there was even a charge. I told him, "let me get this straight, you're going to charge me $5 to measure me before I even bring in my suits to have altered?" He said YES. Unbelievable! He then told me that no one in New Braunfels does alterations. He lied! I went to Tip Top Cleaners & Tuxedos and the customer service was amazing! I even got remeasured for FREE!! I took a brand new jacket that I needed the sleeves hemmed and the owner proceeded to turn the sleeves up to my elbows. I said I just needed the sleeves hemmed about an inch and the buttons moved. The guy said cannot fix. Take back to store. I proceeded to tell him he had fixed a similar jacket for me. He said the sleeves were not fixable. I took my jacket to Shin's Alterations on Nacogdoches Rd and got it the next day. A gentleman bought me a shirt to alter and said he had taken it to the this Master Tailor and was told he could not fix it. I fixed the shirt for him. I would not recommend this Master Tailor as I have never seen him actually make a suit AND he doesn't keep suit fabric in stock. All tailors I have been to have a selection of fabrics. I would question his credentials. I will never go there and prefer to drive to San Antonio to Shin's Alterations. Better place and better customer service. read more

I had the worst experience ever at this tailor. I recently moved to the area from Houston, Texas and have been using my tailor in Houston for the past 11 years. She is a godsend! Every piece of apparel that I purchase has to be altered because I have a small waist and wide hips. After having anxiety about finding a new tailor, I googled and fiund Master Tailors in New Braunfels. I visited on Saturday, 8/30/14 and found the owner to be rude and condescending. I walked inside initially to query his prices and turnaround time. I mentioned that I was new to the area. He responded and told me to bring my items inside. Therefore, I went to the car and retrieved them. Once he completed my measurements and wrote up the ticket for me to pick up on Thursday, 9/4, I stated, "I'm sorry, that won't work. You said that you could have them ready on Wednesday before I went and got the clothes from the car." He went into a tirade and said, "You're not going to find anybody else who can do this for you because you're new and you don't know where to go, and nobody is going to do it for my price." I picked my clothes up and said, "that's okay, I will go elsewhere." At that point, I couldn't fathom leaving my clothing behind with someone who was being so rude and condescending because I reiterated that he had committed to an earlier due date a few minutes earlier. Additionally, you would think that if someone is new to town and facing change, one would want to help...Not the Master Tailors owner. He thought that he was going to exploit my new-ness to town. I dropped off four pairs of slacks today to get altered in a couple hours. Owner stated he could do it but he would have to charge me additional money. I agree he told me between 545 and six I can pick them up. Traffic was really bad on I 35 and I got here at 6:05 and they had already left. So not only did I pay extra money for nothing I can't take my new pants on my work trip tomorrow morning to Dallas. Most people would've picked the phone up and call me and ask how far away I was.
