This place is yummy and the price can't be beat. We just love the street tacos. The chicken and the carne asada are delish. I've also gotten the cheese enchiladas, which are mild and perfect for kiddos, and a breakfast burrito. I like that you can create your own. It's a decent size. I've been here twice now, both times have been absolutely fantastic. The first time I had the master burro. It took me two days to eat it and the Carne Asada was really great. Today I stopped in for a Carnitas burrito and it was arguably the best carnitas I have ever had and definitely the best at a fast dining place. I'll never go to a Bertos again. read more

Just visited Master Tack for lunch today! I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was and the friendly staff. I have eaten at every Mexican food place in surprise and this one it at the top. It is much better than a Filiberto's or Federico's and it is privately owned! The atmosphere is lacking, but the food tastes great. I had a Carne Asada burrito and the beef was not overcooked and full of gristle like you get at other Mexican food places. So I decided to pick up some food from this place on the way home. I have heard from several co-workers that I should try it out. I ordered the two soft taco combo which is #2 with No Pico or Guacamole. At first I thought it was kind of rude that she was taking my order with headphones in her ear. So I pick it up take it home get ready to eat. Open the box and my tacos had BOTH Pico & Guacamole. Remind you I am 4 miles away. So I called and spoke with Sofia. (That name is on the receipt) She said because I ordered the no pico, guac at the last minute that they had made it already so just gave it to me. Makes no sense and where is the customer service. Horrible. Also it wasn't last minute because I told her before she rang me up. After telling me that she just sat on the phone in dead silence. No apology or anything. So I asked can I get reimbursed or make another plate. She said just come back and bring receipt and we can make another order. I said what the heck I'll make the trip back. When I got there I told her I called and spoke to her about the issue she than says did you bring back the order. I said you didn't aske to and said that's the way they do it and walked away stating she couldn't help me. So pissed because she didn't give two shits about it. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I hope this gets to a manager and hope I can not have to worry about people like Sofia and her lack of customer service at your location. read more

First impression on arriving that it was going to be very average. It was very fast service for ten people. I was a little shocked the food came before we finished the chips. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was great. I kept going over to the salsa bar and refilling my salsa. Overall it was a great experience. The portions were generous. I'm a huge breakfast person. I usually opt to go to one of the ones that ends in "ertos". They are decent but Master Taco has one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. You get to choose from some options they have on the menu or build your own. The one thing I love is the fact that you get to choose hash browns as a option. Most places for breakfast burritos don't offer that only potatoes. Anyways I stick to the basics. Egg, sausage, bacon and hash brown. It's incredibly fresh and weighs more than I imagined. They offer Uber Eats as well. The lady inside seemed so friendly and appreciative for me stopping in. Love supporting small business that love offering great food! I tried Master Taco after reading some of the positive reviews. My first try was the Vegetarian Burrito. It came with rice and beans and the burrito was HUGE. Everything tasted amazing. I was hooked. I prefer vegetarian/vegan food but sometimes I get a meat craving. I am extremely picky about the leanness of my meat and a bite of the wrong thing ruins and ends my meal. I had a sudden craving for tacos and decided to be brave and try the Hard Shell Beef Tacos at Master Taco. I'm hooked...almost addicted. This is a small, very clean joint in a quiet strip mall in Surprise. There are a few eat in tables and booths and walk-in or call ahead carry out is available. Prices are very reasonable. Tortilla on bean and cheese burrito was good and the beans were okay but had a heavy lard taste. Counter help didn't say thanks or anything. Got into Phoenix to visit family & it was already a little past 8:30pm. Looking on Yelp saw this was still open (as most places closed by 9pm) & wasnt to far away. Honestly should of skipped it. I tried asking questions about some of the dishes & cashier wasn't helpful @ all in explaining anything. In fact she didn't explain anything. I was fed up trying to find out about the dishes so I just ordered boring tacos. I ordered a side of Pico & was given this tiny container that aboit a tablespoon worth of Pico was in. Crisp tortillas and flavorful fried fish. The chicken was seasoned well but kind of a skimpy portion of chicken was my only complaint. These guys are usually are go to place. Good portions, good tasting, and fairly reasonably priced. That being said our last two occasions have been less than just ok. The first bad occurrence I wrote off because of covid. This last occurrence was more of the same. It seems like most of the places we visit are using this to serve up less than stellar food. Our house flooded and we have had to eat out due to lack of a usable kitchen and we have found that even places we rely on are serving up poor food. We got taco Tuesday and the taste of the beef and chicken were fine but they were cold and saturated with oil in the shell. Also very stale. I have never complained about the portions here but we were hard pressed to find the meets in the tacos and the accompaniments were extremely sparce as well. We were eating in the empty portion of the lot so as not to let them get cold and it was obvious they had been sitting around. Waited a bit to get served so we didn't want to risk going back in. Tossed the beef ones, they were pouring grease. I really hope moving into the larger store hasn't made them slip or if this is just a hint of things to come. We hope not. read more

Three of us went to this recently opened place for lunch and were amazed at how good the food is. I had the Enchilada Combo - 2 enchiladas, rice, beans - which is a nice size portion; I ate half and took the other half home. I got 1 cheese & 1 chicken enchilada and I must say both the enchiladas were pretty fat! The chicken was tasty and nicely seasoned. The salsa bar is a nice feature; it would have been nice if the salsa's were labeled. The restaurant is not fancy, you place your order at the counter and it is brought out to you. The restaurant is clean, the service is efficient, the food is fresh, the young lady who took our order was friendly and welcoming, the prices are reasonable for the amount of food. Thank you Master Taco, we finally have a very casual Mexican restaurant in Surprise that serves yummy food. We will be back. =) read more
