I saw the Lagree Oahu studio by chance and looked it up and decided to give them a go. I've attended at least four classes now, each with a different instructor. While each instructor has their own style, I like that there is a consistency in the way each class is taught. The choreo every class is different but the moves are the same. Even though the Lagree workout is similar to Pilates, they're not the same. I definitely felt muscle aches in areas I've never felt before! Lagree Oahu is located at the Ala Moana Center ground floor, very conveniently by the main entrance close to Jeans Warehouse, Massage Palace, Marshall's, etc, and lots of parking in the mornings. It's a very compact studio, clean and bright. There are ten megaformer machines (reservations required) two changing rooms, cubbies, and a water fountain.

The studio is clean, stylish, and welcoming--and don't let those good vibes fool you. The Megaformer does not play. It's a full-body burn that's low impact but high intensity. You'll leave drenched, sore, and strangely wanting more. Went with my friends to suffer (I mean, sculpt) together, and even took my 14-year-old daughter--she kept up and honestly enjoyed it. It's now becoming our little mother-daughter fitness thing. Instructors are super motivating and bring the perfect mix of kindness and tough love. Every class feels fresh and challenging, no matter your fitness level. If you're on O'ahu and looking for a workout that will tone, tighten, and humble you real quick--Lagree O'ahu is IT.

These Barre classes are more upbeat and are "fun". I actually look forward to the classes and I plan on buying a pack of classes once my "starter pack" runs out. Also, I definitely felt the effects of the workout both during and after the class. The muscle shakes are REAL!! This was my first ever barre class I've taken, and wow - what a workout. I'm three months postpartum, and the classes offered provide the perfect workout and challenge for me, as modifications are also provided. The studio is clean and inviting. Not only did the workout catch my eye after several classes, but the owner Melissa is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable to barre. I appreciate how all the instructors at Sweat + Soul are friendly and encouraging. The instructors help guide you throughout class and make friendly corrections to optimize your positions so you can get the best workout possible. Highly recommended this studio to everyone!

Diane's assessment and carefully chosen exercises have changed my life. After committing to Pilates three times a week, I've seen dramatic improvements in swelling, strength, stamina, coordination, and balance -- easily the best ROI caring for my health. The studio itself is lovely and thoughtfully arranged. Small classes (maximum six people) mean personalized attention, and Diane's preparation and expertise shine through -- she has clearly dedicated her life to Pilates. Her cues and hands-on adjustments are precise and encouraging, making each session fun, challenging, and rewarding. The exercise progressions require coordination and balance, which I find invigorating rather than intimidating. Beyond Pilates Hawaii with Diane is outstanding. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Very nice and professional set up and studio. I had never done Pilates before so this was a new experience for me. Wow. Totally blown away by the 1 hour session/ class I took. You can totally feel what Pilates can do for you in just one session and I now see why people go back. You learn things you didn't know how to do and use muscles you didn't know you had (or at least I didn't). I wasn't quite able to keep up with everyone else but that didn't matter at all. The owner Kareen, who runs the place, is also awesome at working with your schedule and had multiple classes and times to choose from. I highly recommend this place!

Some classes fill up quickly and they have a waitlist. You form a line outside of their door and wait to enter when the instructor lets you in. Moani recognized that I was a new student and quickly helped me to grab weights, resistance bands, and ankle weights. There is ample equipment for everyone. The studio is very small and the provided mats were so close to each other. I ended up in the back row in a corner near the door. I only had 1/2 a mirror in front of me as there was some obstruction on the bottom. The class was very fast paced HIIT, with heavy and light weights, some cardio, and core. This class also used Red Light and Infrared Heat so you are constantly sweating. They require you to bring your own towel. The reps were intense and I had to stop several times to shake out my arms/legs. Most others looked like regulars and were able to keep up with the instructor. There are no modifications for different fitness abilities and no corrections on form. She does offer verbal motivation, great energy, and kept switching up the music to keep it fresh. At one point in the class, it was so hot that the emergency door was opened for a bit. There are very few, very quick breaks to take a sip of water. At the end, we were instructed to wipe down the equipment we used and rushed out as the next class was coming in late. Moani helped to swifer the floors. As a first timer, most exercises were pretty easy to follow along to. It's an exhilarating and challenging class. My dri-fits were soaked and my cheeks were flushed. The heat, intensity/pacing, and tight quarters made this a quite uncomfortable workout experience. The girls next to me have been going for a year and said it doesn't get any easier!

Each class is only 45min, but they pack in the work and you leave feeling good about yourself every single time! Normally a workout studio will have some instructors that provide harder workouts than others, but ALL of the instructors here know how to get you sweating & burning :) There is a $20 late cancellation fee, which is a bit steep, but it is within a reasonable time period and since space is very limited in the studio - the fee is understandable. It also helps to motivate you to make it to your workout and not make excuses! The monthly membership price is on par with other workout classes. Always believed that your health is the most important investment anyways. Only thing I would want are more class times so I could go more often. Latest classes are at 6pm, so sometimes I'm unable to attend in the evenings after work. But the staff is very small atm, so hopefully they will expand in the future so we can get more Burn :)
