I brought my small fiberglass rv to these guys to see if they could remove a damaged stabilizer jack and install a new one. Their response was no problem and it will only take about 30 minutes and cost $50 ( I already had the part ). I waited for them to complete the repair without issue. I came back a few days later and they did wheel bearing service and again it was very reasonably priced. These guys have helped me with other things on my trailer also. I will seek their advise and services when ever I have a problem. They are honest, do good work and have it ready when they say they can. I used the Master Hitch in The Woodlands, but this is a family company and it is a new location on Rayford/Sawdust, so reviewing here on this store because I didn't see an entry for the one I visited, but they are a quality place it appears. I just had a hitch installed on my 2011 Lexus RX350. I called, drove straight there, and had a hitch installed in less than 30 minutes. It looks good too...hardly anything showing so you wouldn't even notice it unless I said "hey look at it." The installer was the part owner/operator of the store, and has been doing it for awhile since it is the family business. He was very knowledgeable, honest and maticulous with it looking good. I appreciate that for what you pay for cars these days....certainly don't want a hack job! Additionally, it was very reasonable, and he used some parts I already owned and also gave me tips on trailering (I'm a girl, and have towed twice in my life..with someone else getting me set up, loaded etc...) Price was more than half 'less' than what the dealership was going to charge me. I was pleased, and would recommend Master HItch to anyone needing a hitch installed. Sadly I can not remember who helped me but they were amazing! I was quoted 475$ and when it was all said and done I was only actually charged 275$ for a hitch labor and 2" ball. I absolutely love this place, the owners and employees! Always courteous always knowledgeable always ready to fix anything going on with your truck or trailer and they do it for really reasonable costs. I recently bought a new truck and needed my 4 horse GN trailer raised and also a GN hitch installed. Scott suggested I get the bed liner sprayed in prior to install of the hitch. Great idea and it was done the same day! They raised my trailer and installed the extension coupler and I'm good to go! Also mentioned I needed a lock...not something I was thinking about but they were! Purchased our first hitch at the recommendation of Bike Barn in 1999. We called to make certain it could be installed the same day. We were assured it would be done. We arrived and waited our turn. Before we could say a word, Steve already knew who we were and what we needed! The service was fast, friendly, and price was very reasonable. I was so impressed with their service and product that it was etched into my memory all this time. Fast forward more than 15 years later...We needed to add running boards to our SUV. Purchased a set from the dealership, but didn't want to pay their premium for the installation. I remembered Master Hitch, but didn't know if they would accept the job. Called and was told it would be no problem! Went into town Saturday afternoon and had the running boards installed in less than an hour! I have a 36 year old Finnish sailplane trailer that had problems with the wheels and hubs. I was preparing to move from Houston to California and was very concerned that the trailer wouldn't make it there without failing. I thought that perhaps Master Hitch could find new hubs and wheels for me but recommended replacing the entire trailing suspension axel with easy grease hubs and new wheels. I did not even realize that that was a cost effective option. The work was done quickly with a focus on reducing costs. Tom is actually a great father and husband but he started this balls thing that I can't help but remember when I see him. Eewwww.... Seriously- He helped me keep my old dually and gooseneck trailer equiped and safe for 7 years now. That's important when you are hauling trees in a trailer in the city of Houston. I've never left a Yelp review in my life, but after our experience a couple days ago I felt compelled to. We bought a brand new camper from a dealership in spring and had them install the weight distribution hitch that I supplied (which was much better than the garbage they were trying to sell me). I knew the camper would be tongue-heavy and expected a little dip in the rear-end of my truck, but after their shoddy installation it was much more dip than I was comfortable with. When the wife and I said we'd probably have to get air bags, they recommended us to master hitch. We called them as soon as we left the lot and Bob told us to drive on over, most likely it was an installer error that wouldn't result in airbags. We arrived there 10 minutes later and Bob diagnosed the problem, unhooked from the truck and remeasured everything before adjusting the hitch itself and the placement of the saddles on the camper. Other customers began to arrive and he stayed focused on us, even though we had no appointment and arrived 10 mins after speaking with him. After about 45 mins or so he completely fixed the problem and kept us from having to drop about $1500 for airbags/compressor. I asked how much I owed him (cringing inside that I literally just paid someone to do this very thing) and he said "I wasn't planning on charging you anything, you already paid to have this done." The wife and I were so happy that we bought an Anderson tongue jack block like the one he used to raise our camper, which was about $45 and well worth it. From here on out I will only buy anything trailer-related from him. We buy EVERYTHING via Amazon, but because of his customer service I will go out of my way and maybe pay a few $ more to support this business for life. Thank you, sir! read more

I was looking for a trailer hitch and installer for my 06' GTO, to start carrying a bikes. I read up on the reviews from Google and Yelp for some of the other local Houston shops and was not very impressed. I then found Master Hitch and called them a little before their opening time of 8 AM. First good sign with upon contact is that they (Tom) answered the phone before opening. As an old school blue collar guy, that speaks volumes to me. Tom was friendly, courteous, and professional. He stated that he'd call his local supplier for the Curt hitch that I was looking for and would call me back with the results. He promptly called me back within 10 minutes and stated that he could get it in today. Around 13:30, I hadn't heard anything so I called them back; it just so happened that the hitch just arrived. I got there within 35-40 minutes. I wanted to discuss with whomever was going to install the hitch, what part of the rear valence was required to be trimmed, as I read the installations from Curt online the day before. They were very professional and courteous. The installed hitch cover looks great. I'd definitely highly recommend this shop. read more

These people are the best, even my mechanic says so! Recently, I had to visit them 3 times in 2 days, and they were graceful as anything about all my return visits. First, they had the hitch I needed in stock. Yay! They offered to sell me the electrical stuff at the same time, but a smug friend told me to get that stuff elsewhere and that he'd install it. Well, no one else carried the electrical cords, so I ended up having to come back here the same day to get it. They were very sweet about it though and realized before I did that my friend was a pedantic jerk full of false promises. They gently suggested they do the install. Still believing my friend, I thanked them and said I was good. Oh regret. Today, I roll into Uhaul with the hitch my friend installed, and Uhaul wouldn't attach the trailer (thank godness!!') because my awful friend had made a flipping mess of hitch. He lost 2 of the 6 bolts and didn't tell me and didn't fully tighten the hitch to the car. I can't believe it didn't fall off as I drove! Uhaul was sweet and tried to fix it, but after an hour they told me I had to go back to Master Hitch and get it installed properly. So I drove all the way across town back to Master Hitch crying in frustration about losing 3 hours on my moving day and cursing my arrogant soon-to-be-former friend. I arrived at Master Hitch defeated and tear-stained. They gently took my keys and got right to it, undoing the mess my friend made (one different bolt that didn't come with the kit and didn't fit properly and one missing bolt - a total mess). Took them over 30 minutes to undo his mess when install should have taken 10 minutes. At the end, they took pity on me and bade me safe travels. They could have really made my day even worse by taking advantage and charging me a ton, but they were superstars. Thank you! Yesterday I would have given Master Hitch 5 stars. I had been a customer for many years. Today, I will not spend another dollar with them. Their service is great, but what you do after the sale is done is what really counts. This is where I take issue with them. 10 years ago I bought a load leveling hitch from them and was told it had a Lifetime warranty. It broke, so I took it back to them today and nope sorry this has been very used, we will not warranty it. Well No service after the sale no business from me again. I have in the past bought bumpers, a couple of trailer hitches, this load leveling hitch, and had brake controllers installed in several vehicles. He had a hitch installed on his Audi A4 and he said the staff at Master Hitch seemed professional and really interested in installing the hitch properly. This was the only place in Houston that had my hitch in stock, and they even offered two brands. (both of which were in stock) I was in and out in less than an hour, despite their obviously busy workshop. The salesman was very knowledgeable and recommended the best option for my car, and explained why this was the best option. He answered all my techie questions as well. I will be recommending this place to friends in the market for hitches. Edit: had to take a star off because whoever installed the hitch did not vacuum out the metals shavings. I had a hitch put on my car by these guys and they did great work. I use the hitch mostly for my bike rack. Recently, I had to travel out of town for a bike tour and realized my bike rack was missing the pin that helps keep it in the up position. I went over to Master Hitch to see if they had anything that would work. The man working there came out to the car and said he knew exactly what I needed. He went in found a pin and installed it in my bike rack and told me to have a nice day. I tried to pay, but he said to not worry about it. Over the past 8 years, I have had half a dozen experiences with Master Hitch in Houston-Bellaire. ALL have been 5 star. To sum it up... The last 10 years of my career with Chevron Inc were as the Corporate-level Procurement Alliance Manager for 5 key suppliers of oil biz related critical equipment and after-sale services. The Company spent between $25 - $200,000,000 per year with each of those companies and part of my job was to literally travel the world instructing both Chevron & Supplier personnel in our expections from these huge, complex, sole source contracts. I used Master Hitch as my example of what the highest level of customer service looks like. Tom, I told you I was doing this... :-) A couple recent examples: yesterday on a busy Saturday, Tom took the time to find me a supplier of services outside what they offer, i.e. weigh individulal wheels on a dual axle race car trailer. A month ago, also on a busy Saturday, Bubba took on an assistant and finished a 6 hour job in 3 hours because I really needed that complete brake overhaul done right now. Bubba also noted some incipient cracks on my tailer connection which i hadn't seen. Dec 11, i'll get that fixed with them. I called Wednesday at 5:25pm (right before closing) and my hitch was in stock the next day before noon. Went by this afternoon for installation and it took less than 45 minutes.
