Short review: AC at…read moremy aunt's house in Houston crapped out on the hottest day so far of the year 104. Got 6 different quotes and Action AC came out and installed a new condenser unit outside and new evaporator inside, in 3 hours. Didn't charge until AFTER THE JOB on a handshake AND came in literally $1500 LESS than the other 5 quotes. Lesson: Texas businesses will WORK for your business. Longer review: Galen answered the call and was able to quote me on the phone for a couple of new coils and a 3T outdoor condenser but wanted to make sure so he's going to send someone to come out and get us a free estimate. He was the last one that came out and quoted us and I couldn't believe how low his quote was! Almost $1500 less for the exact same equipment, warranty and time frame as the others. He didn't do the extra stuff that wasn't needed like replacing the vent lines or adding dampeners, etc, but again, it wasn't needed. We needed air at an affordable cost. He came early and went thru and quoted us for a new evaporator and condenser. He's definitely old school so I was a little afraid when he spke about a handshake deal over the phone. He did also give it to us in writing as well when he came out so that made me feel better. I checked their ratings on FB, Yelp, and also their state license, since the other companies couldn't match the price, and all came out stellar. I also contacted some of his Facebook clients and they stood by their awesome reviews. He gave us some tips for self care to maintain and extend the longevity of our new AC. He definitely answered every call or text I made and his team manager Rocky was prompt and fast. I will definitely be recommending him and his company.

I shopped around on a Saturday and a contacted 10 companies who ranged from 12,000.00, 8,000.00, 7,600.00 and everything in between. Now, mind you they were all talking the same language giving me the same 10-ton unit and the R 54. I was confused. I finally spoke to Reza of All Electric and AC who assured me that they had the best price, better 10 yr warranty and 2 yrs maintenance at $6,599.00. The job was professionally done, it took about 3 hours, they were clean, the young gentleman swept my floors and stairs. All material outside were picked up and everything runs perfectly and a new thermostat that can be controlled from my phone. When the other companies tell you, well they are cheaper because you won't get the same quality things, that's a lie. Reza match the $12,000.00 price apples for apples. So, I hope you're never in my position but if you are please do your homework so you can feel comfortable then reach out to REZA at All Electric and AC. Thank you Cindy Joseph

They told me the issue was one thing and fixed it for a lot cheaper than I thought. Unfortunately, the air only worked for a day after that. I text and called the guy, I believe it was the son I was dealing with, and he asked me to check something; based on the check he advised it was a different issue he was worried about. Came back out and replaced THAT part. The unit ran for a couple of days, then went out again. I was extremely frustrated. None the less, I knew it was an older unit. They gave me a quote on a new HVAC, advised they don't offer financing and that was pretty much it. I don't want to say they were rude, definitely not, I just couldn't help but feel like I was a bother with response to texts a few days later with statements such as "phone wasn't working" rather than saying don't work weekends. I suppose I just didn't feel like welcome, for lack of a better word. You know that feeling when someone wants your business... That partnered with the issues with the AC twice after they looked at it are how I arrived at my opinion.

Yair has always treated us as "valued customers," and Easy Flow has always responded QUICKLY to any issues we've had over the years. They arrived on time and were professional & efficient in removing the old units and installing the new ones. It seemed to me like a BIG project, but they handled it very capably. We have a ten-year warranty through them for our new equipment, and because of our long-term relationship with Easy Flow Services, we are confident that we will have excellent service and well-functioning equipment throughout that time. When I worked as a Realtor, I was comfortable recommending Easy Flow Services to clients, and personally, I'm happy to recommend them to friends and family who have AC/heating issues. In a nutshell: Top-notch, reliable, professional services all the way!

On two recommendations, we called Easy Flow and presented them with the assessment. We got expert advice from Yair, who made a thorough inspection of the system. It's winter, but I have no doubt it also will work well in summer. Easy Flow also coordinated with Mundae Restoration, so we got the entire job scheduled and completed in 2.5 days. I appreciate the expertise and no-nonsense approach. Yair game us choices and never tried to up-sell.

While Yelp is no Angie's List, I'd like to boost the service provider category of reviews. Given…read morethat this is Houston, central air conditioning is akin to a Liz Lemon party*. Well, during our "winter", my compressor sprang a leak and spewed its 1994 Freon all over the Earth's ozone. Sorry. Anyway, since I had the luxury of shopping for bids during our winter, I opted to get 4 bids before deciding on a final contractor. Think of it this way: How often do any of us shop for central air/heat? I think we shop for cars more often so I wanted to be careful in such a big decision. Here's the rundown: * Fly Comfort Services: Recommended both outside compressor and inside air handler be replaced for $4,700. Cash discount of 2.5%. No charge for evaluation. Found these guys via a fellow Yelper. They were flakier than a Crisco crust on writing up the bid in a timely manner (not a good impression for all that money they wanted to charge me). * Comfort Star: Recommended both outside compressor and inside air handler be replaced for $4,500. Cash discount of 2.5%. Charged $45 trip charge. Found these guys via Yelp search. The owner (Mr. Khoury) was very patient on discussing details and the technician's visit was very thorough (about 1.5 hours). * AC Repair Houston: Recommended only the outside compressor to be replaced for $1,850. No cash discount. No charge for evaluation. Found them via Yelp search. Mr. Jack Jensen is the salt of the earth; actually mentioned that many of his AC brethren have reputations similar to used car salesmen. * M&L Air Conditioning: Recommended only the outside compressor to be replaced for $1,700. No cash discount. No charge for evaluation. Referred by my Realtor who I've worked with on the buying and the selling sides. Winner: M&L Air Conditioning! Mr. Atkins was friendly, down-to-earth, approachable, and informative. He didn't try to sell me on anything unnecessary and even pointed out the pros, cons, and secondary alternatives of the replacement options. He's so confident in his work that he doubled the usual 1-year labor warranty for free. He provided an arrival time window (10 to noon) but, unlike the evil Comcast, he arrived at 1010 AM for his projected 3-hour installation. He even finished 20 minutes ahead of the installation timetable, despite my periodic questions of "What's that?" I wrote him a personal check for the $1,750 once the Goodman 13 SEER 2-ton compressor, condenser pad, and programmable thermostat were installed and tested. With the blizzard of contractor visits, I've learned a lot about the old and new refrigerant standards, the minimum SEER ratings, air handlers, compressor-condensers, pads, duct work, and fair prices for all of these items. I also got pretty dang good at verifying their licenses at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website, too. I'm almost sure that I could get an AC contractor license easily with the volume that I know now. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with my new A/C system to spend some quality time chilling things down. (draws drapes) * If you're a fan of "30 Rock", you'll recognize the line: "There's no party like a Liz Lemon party. And, a Liz Lemon party is...mandatory."
