As mentioned by another reviewer, he had a handy test-for-water-damage tool he carried around. I was really confused when he stopped using it halfway through the inspection. He didn't even pull it out in the back bathroom. I asked him about it a few times, but he seemed so confident in his dismissals that I let it go. The big one, though - The extent of his electrical inspection was to look at the labels in the fuse box. He told me he was happy with how the rooms were divided up in there. About a week after moving in, I plugged something into an outlet in the kitchen, and heard a fizzling sound in the wall. The outlet topped working as did another outlet where the microwave is plugged in. Flipping the fuse box doesn't remedy the issue, so I'm going to have to call (and pay for) an electrician. I asked two other recent home-buyers in my office, and both told me their inspectors had investigated all of their outlets. The same for me would have saved me a ton. As I was letting Dov out, I regretted having my real estate agent source him for me. It's in Dov's best interest to help my agent, and not me. If Dov helps my agent make a sale, my agent will keep giving Dov business. Thus, if Dov nudges me toward buying with a lighter inspection, he's helping to put more money in my agent's pocket, while also taking a steep $600 out of mine. I'm not positive this is their explicit arrangement, but it's the feeling I got as I paid Dov for what gnawed at me as a not-at-all thorough inspection. First time home buyers beware.

Hope they would be master of inspections for my new house purchase. The inspector was nice, answered all questions. That's why I gave 2 * instead of 1. However, after I moved in the house I believe that there are some small things to fix. 2 weeks later, the national grid came to turn on our meter and then he locked our all gas due to he found out gas leaks and wrong installation. The fixing problem is more than $10k. Just one of the most things need to fix, but this part the inspector didn't tell us before. And we couldn't have gas for almost 3 weeks due to fixing and holidays( thanksgiving) Go back to the inspection, we read again. Yeah. He wrote some improper installation, gas leakages. But why he didn't mention about I should've done the gas fixing before any gas company came so that we will not get no heat, gas, hot water for 3-4 weeks. The inspector only recommended to move the dryer and washer out then we will fix the problems, estimates cost $2-3k. So we didn't think this was a big problem.

Now I'm stuck with thousands of dollars of bills to repair after the purchase of the home. When I asked the company to compensate via insurance, they stated I signed an agreement which I can only claim damages up to the amount of the inspection fee $450!!!. They screwed me and cost me money on the home price as well as repair and refuse to make me whole! Mark Bendit, shame on you! Please check the agreement before you sign. It says you waive your right to be compensated above the inspection fee if they are negligent!! Do not sign! Do not use their services!!!
