Tommy is thorough and patient to explain everything as he goes through the house. This is the hitrd house I used his services for.

We were closing on a house on Long Island and needed a fast inspection, fortunately we found Tommy of HomeSpector who came to our rescue! From our first phone call, Tommy was a professional & a total pleasure. His communications prior to our appointment were also first-rate. He was able to inspect our prospective home on short notice & did a great job-; Tommy is meticulous & very detailed oriented. Tommy carefully walked us through the whole process, then actually had us walk the house with him, inside and out, as he gave us (first) a detailed verbal report of everything we should be aware of before we closed. Within 24 hours a full written inspection report was emailed to us, with scores of supporting photographs documenting anything that might impact our final sale, as well as longer-term maintenance issues we should be aware if we decide to buy the house. At the same time, Tommy was so polite, the seller & her broker were very friendly & engaging with him, not adversarial, the whole process was painless from beginning to end. Last thing, when I followed up with Tommy with a question regarding an issue he had raised that might impact the final sale, he got back to us immediately with additional research that allowed us to close the deal. Tommy does great work, hire him without hesitation! read more

Tommy is a great home inspector. He knows everything about the process and can help you understand anything you need to know. He was booked on the day I needed him, but he still helped me out before and after my inspection with another inspector. I highly recommend him. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this review. I don't usually write reviews but I felt that I had to for Tommy because he's very friendly, thorough and professional with his work. This is my first home inspection and I didn't know what to expect going into it. He makes sure you know everything you need to know before he leaves when he's finished with the inspection and if you ever have any questions afterward, he's willing to go over them with you again even after it's done. I didn't expect much from the inspection since I have no experience looking at homes but what I gained from it was so much more than I asked for. During the inspection, I felt like I was taking a lesson on how to become a home inspector myself! That's how detailed Tommy was. He prepares his report with a quick turnaround time with everything explained during the verbal report and sends both pdf and hard copies to you (pictures taken during the inspection are also included). As his client, he will always have your best interest first, but will not hesitate to ensure the safety of whoever is occupying the space in case he finds something that is considered a possible hazard. He's truly a great guy who cares for others. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for a home inspection, especially if you'll be a first time home owner. I'll definitely have him again for any further home inspections. He deserves all the stars you can give and more. And if you're reading this, thanks Tommy! read more

We are very happy we went with Tommy from Homespectors for our recent home inspection. I have been through 2 other inspections. While none were bad, Tommy was the most thorough of them all. We spent over 2.5 hours going through every part of the house including crawl space etc... Tommy took pictures and summarized everything in a detailed report which he sent to me the next evening. As we looked at each part of the house, Tommy patiently explained what he saw and highlighted each risk no matter how small or insignificant. It got to a point where I was hoping he would go a little faster but I realize this is the type of inspector every prospective home owner needs. When he sent the report, he called me right afterwards to go through it on a Sunday evening and again patiently explained everything and answered every question. He told me I can call any time if I have any additional questions. I'm thoroughly impressed with Tommy's professionalism and dedication to his work. We can all learn a thing or 2 from his approach to his work. Highly recommend!! read more

Tommy is very knowledgeable and pointed out numerous deficiencies in a house we were looking to purchase that were previously overlooked. I definitely recommend hiring Tommy for peace of mind read more

If you are a first-time home buyer and need a home inspector to inspect your property, don't hesitate to call Tommy. I had a wonderful experience with Tommy for our home inspection for a property we are buying. Tommy was not only deeply knowledgeable but also very patient and thorough. Throughout the whole inspection, he explained everything in detail to us without being an alarmist. I have had three home inspections in my life, and I would say Tommy is much more thorough and way better than the two inspections I had in the past. Lastly, the fact that he was available until late at night after our inspection speaks volume of the customer service he provides. Overall, you can't go wrong with having Tommy help you with your home inspection. read more

Tommy, my main man Tommy. I don't think i'll be able to scratch the surface on how important Tommy and Home Spector Inc was in my house hunt. Tommy was able to make a huge exception for me, which I don't want to disclose, but made it out to our appointment early and was ready to go. He explained everything perfectly before we got started and made sure that we understood all aspects of the home inspection we were going to receive that day. As he started, he insisted we walk around with him so he could show us every single detail in the home that we should know about (since we are first time home buyers). He answered every question we had, showed us all the necessary things around the home, and how to access and use them. There was even a tiny crawl space in the basement that he crawled as far as he could into, so he could see how the foundation looked from the inside (since the outside had some minor cracks in it). Within 24 hours I had a full comprehensive report emailed to me that included a general summary, and a full table of contents with every individual part of the home. It's unbelievable how detailed this report was, and the best part was a picture of what he was explaining accompanied each part of this report. Wow! The absolute most impressive part of this inspection process with Home Spector Inc was days after the inspection. We received a package from Tommy as a first time home buyer, while i'll spare the details of the package, I was EXTREMELY impressed with it. He must have really liked us because it felt like a VIP package. Even my mother, who invests in realty and has gone through many, many home inspectors was absolutely floored by the quality. I could go on and on about the entire inspection process, but i don't want to bore you with the details. All you need to know is Tommy is the RIGHT man for the job, and i'm glad I hit a home run hiring him for my home inspection needs. Thanks Tommy!! read more

Tommy was GREAT! I rarely write reviews but he did such a wonderful job inspecting our home, I felt the need to praise his work, since I found him through yelp, and the simplicity of his website did have me wondering (hope he finds someone to help update his website to match his profesionalism and amazing work). I compared Yelp to Angies List to BBB to various Home Inspector certification sites and emailed three home inspectors (have been told anything related to houses - get three quotes). I also googled "what to look for in a home inspector" and "what to ask." Tommy responded quickly with thought out responses to my questions. Though he was slightly more than the other home inspectors I had emailed, his email response already showed drastic quality difference, and for a home inspector, you want someone detailed, especially in writing reports. He arrived to our home on time, allowed both my partner and I to follow him the entire time (one of the questions I asked in the email and something google said is a red flag if a home inspector does not want you present). He spent 3 quality hours explaining what he was looking at to us and taking photos for his amazing binder he mails you immediately (really every step he blew us away). He looked at our roof (its amazing how much you can see from the street level), gutters, windows, foundation, driveway, deck, how rain water flowed around the house, checked for signs of termites, tested every outlet in the house, checked the dates / maintenance records for the ac unit, furnance, and water cooler, went in the garage, attic, and crawlspace, and of course walking around the interior of the house (checking that it was level, any signs of water damage / mold, and etc). He was so indepth with his explainations and when we asked him for contractor recommendations, he let us know that is a conflict of interest and maintained a high level of professionalism, while also being down to earth / friendly. read more

As first time homebuyers, we were looking for a thorough and honest inspector that would take their time, be patient with us and be patient with all of our questions. Tommy was hands down amazing, and we would highly recommend you choose him for your home inspection, especially if it's your first purchase. We didn't have to ask Tommy any questions or set any expectations, from the first time we reached out he was extremely responsive and showed amazing customer service. I believe it's a one man business, and it being his full time occupation, I am so impressed with the way he handles his business. I even reached out after our inspection to see if he'd be able to return to inspect something else and he was still super responsive and followed up. Hire Tommy, you won't regret it. read more

Tommy rates easily as one of the top 20 home inspectors in America for certain. It would not surprise me if he were top 10. If you want to know EVERYTHING about that house that you are buying, good and bad, unbiased and fair, then hire him. You will not get a whitewashed report that is geared towards not messing up the sale, like possibly from an inspector that the seller's agent may refer you to. read more

Tommy is the man, he showed me around answered all my question. He was very patient and helpful. If I buy another house about NY I will surely ask him for inspection and I highly recommend him. Thank you for everything Tommy. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Tommy. Seriously. He went above and beyond to make sure my family and I understood everything that he was inspecting and why; giving us recommendations for how to approach possible repairs in the future. He was thorough, clean, professional, and above all else, fast. I received my PDF copy of the 80 page inspection THE NEXT DAY. Following this, I received a printed binder copy within 5 days of the inspection. He comes with all his equipment including an outlet tester, magnifying glass, flashlight, and the coolest pack-away ladder to check the roof and skylights. Tommy's pricing was appropriate given the level of work he provided. Honestly, Im glad I didn't try to save $200 by going to someone else since I got way more than the other companies I found were offering. If I need another home inspection I will definitely be using him again. Thank you Tommy!!! read more

HomeSpector Inc - Tommy the best home inspector!! - Home Inspectors Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

As a first time homebuyer, I was definitely swayed by the positive reviews posted by other first time buyers. I can only say that I was not disappointed although I will admit I was a little skeptical of all the glowing reviews at first. My worries were eased when I called Tommy for information and he was courteous, informative, and professional. I had to make my appointment late in the evening since I had to work and then make my way to the property but Tommy never once rushed to get through the inspection. He took his time (almost two hours) to point out every little thing that I would need to be wary of. He was friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. Every step of the way, he went above and beyond, even crawling on his hands and knees into the tiny crawl space in the attic to look at the insulation. He gave us so many tips on what to look out for in the future and suggestions on changes that we could make to make our lives easier. You will not go wrong choosing Tommy/HomeSpector to perform your inspection. I received my inspection report via email the day after and the beautiful, colored binder in the mail only two days after the inspection. All my friends and family were surprised to see so much detail in the report. Amazing job, really. Thank you Tommy! read more

Tommy/Home Spector sets the gold standard for home inspection. I hired Tommy off the positives reviews here and he is everything as described and more. I had requested Tommy's services to help me inspect a 2750 sq foot 90 year old home. Tommy went through great lengths to explain everything to me as he was doing the inspection. What I TRUELY appreciate is the way he delivered the information to me ( i am very anti-need to know basis) so he explained exactly what were pros-cons of various areas in the home and why things impact things the way they do. Example he pointed out the grading on the soil and the impact on the flooring levels etc. If you want a good thorough job, Tommy is the person to get. I received a full digital copy of his report as well as a bindered hard-copy. Very professional. Note: Be ready to spend the necessary hours/time for what is likely the top or near top purchase of your life. Well worth it. read more
