*rounding up to 4 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed my dish but overall would have given this visit 3.5 stars* Took my husband here for his birthday dinner this year. We had a 7pm reservation on a Friday night and were seated promptly upon arrival. The restaurant was not overly crowded and we were seated in one of the side rooms, not the main dining hall. It was nice but felt a little dark compared to the main room. After placing our drink orders a waiter came over with a basket of fresh bread with a few options. My husband asked for two pieces which the waiter seemed a little hesitant about but did comply. For an appetizer we got the grilled octopus (not pictured) which was tasty but a very small portion. For our main course, I ordered the Vitello Valdostana and it was truly to die for. The Marsala sauce had great flavor and the veal was tender. My husband ordered the dry aged bone in strip steak and he said it was cooked to his liking but there was no real wow factor to it. He also got a side of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. I also tried both, the mashed potatoes were okay but had a heavy olive oil flavor which I wasn't expecting. And to put nicely, the sautéed spinach was just not good at all. Not sure if they just forgot to season it but it was super bland and pretty much inedible. We each took one bite and didn't touch it again. For birthdays they do bring out a small bowl of icecream which was a nice touch. Overall the experience fell very middle of the road for us. For the price, I won't be running back here anytime soon but would definitely consider it for another celebration and to try some other dishes.

Ok I definitely wrestled with how this review was going to go. I actually waited a few days before I composed this to give myself tine to reflect on our experience. For those who are not familiar with this restaurant, it's a high-end Italian steakhouse that recently opened in morristown. The interior is beautiful and sophisticated. Now if you are going to present yourself as an upper tier steakhouse there is an expectation of above average service and food quality. With that being said let me get into it. Myself and my wife walked in and was greeted by a friendly hostess. We opted to sit at the bar and there were two barstools that were vacant at the end. Next to where I was sitting, there was several used dishes and napkins that had yet not been cleared by the bartender which is a little off putting. Bartender came over within a minute or two with a cocktail menu and took our drink order. I ordered the espresso martini and several moments later the bartender brought it over. This is when it got a bit strange. The bartender also brought over with her a small cup of beans. I understand that an espresso martini is to have beans placed on top as a garnish. The bartender picked up the beans with her bare hands and placed them in my drink. I find this a bit gross as she's handling menus and money. The next issue I had was I ordered chicken Parmesan with a side of rigatoni. I'm not sure who messed up the bartender or the kitchen but I got spaghetti not rigatoni. I know this is a minor hiccup but I was more upset by the way it was handled. The bartender offered to put an order of rigatoni in but by that time I would have finished my meal. At the end of the dinner the bartender came over and told me she took the spaghetti off the bill after talking to her manager. Except for tasting it I never ate the pasta so that should go without saying. I mean she wasn't doing me a favor. Lastly the manager was aware there was a problem with my meal and didn't come over to speak to me about it, overall disappointed in the service. Food was tasty. Drinks were just ok.

My first time at Masseria and the experience was as good as any NY steakhouse. Service was top level and the food was prepared just right. When you go, valet parking or park in the Marriott connected to the restaurant.

Very surprised to see low ratings for this place. I had a great experience! My husband and I had a pre-Valentine's day dinner on the 13th. Table was ready when we got there and we had a nice cozy spot that wasn't sitting on top of someone else. Chairs are comfortable and have a nice back to them and fabric on them. My glass of Sauvignon Blanc was nice. There was a man going around with a tempting basket of bread. He came over and gave us each 1 piece. Now- while he did indeed come back around (the waiter asked us if we wanted him to come back), I would say it would be better if they can let you choose 2 pieces from the start. Getting 1 piece of bread from a massive bread basket feels chintzy. Don't make an expensive Italian steakhouse chintzy, come on now. Anyway, I had the waygu ribeye steak which was deliciousssss. Melt in your mouth. Cooked to medium rare perfection. The crust on it was superior. Every bite was perfect. My husband got the pappardelle bolognese. I tried some of it and it was also excellent! Had an umami flavor to it that made it super flavorful. I don't think it has mushrooms, but it was mushroom-umami-like. I had an after dinner Campari and my husband did a cappuccino. Both very nice. Our waiter was great and the right amount of attentiveness. The front hostess area can do a bit better with the hospitality. A lot of "big suit" people walking around that could have offered a greeting to the people waiting. I know that's being picky, but my reviews are pickier the higher the price tag. Overall, food + service + ambiance all met the mark for me and I would come back to try more items.

Didn't like my food. They had great bread basket. But the food didn't live up. Branzino was cooked in a lemony sauce. It was bland, slightly overcooked and chewy. The sauce made it taste sour. It looked good. Atmosphere was nice and scenic. I wouldn't go back. It just felt like another pricey joint in Morristown.

Went to Masseria for a girls' night out, and overall, it was just an okay experience. The restaurant is huge, with plenty of tables and different ambiances. The food was decent. The appetizers were good, but for the main course, we ordered a chicken and veal parm to share. The veal was tough and chewy--definitely overcooked--which is surprising given that this is a steakhouse. The chicken parm was just okay, nothing special. The pasta and salad were good, but for $19, the salad portion was too small to be considered a main dish. The service was a major downside. Our server took forever to take our orders and then rushed us to leave once we finished eating. We even saw him chatting with another waitress, saying he wanted us to go. While I understand wanting to turn tables, at that point, we hadn't even finished our drinks. He cleared the table before we were done with dessert, immediately brought the check, and rudely tossed two pens onto the table--no exaggeration. He didn't even ask if we wanted tea or coffee, and as soon as we paid, he rushed to collect the signed receipts. This all happened before 9:30 p.m. Overall, I didn't enjoy the experience and wouldn't go back or recommend it.

I was shocked to see anything short of 5 stars on here. I popped in for lunch and received nothing but amazing service. The hostess kindly checked with the kitchen for me regarding gluten free items and then seated me in my preferred outdoor seat. I ordered the Branzino and it was one of the best versions of the dish I have ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly, skin included, and even expertly deboned. The accoutrements were tasty as well, with pitted olives, cooked tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. The fish itself was filling and quite a large portion and definitely the star of the dish. There was just a sprinkling of the other items. Overall, so much flavor and seasoning. I could barely finish it and ended up taking the rest home. My server was incredibly professional, checked in often, and even apologized since the fish was taking a bit of time. I would not hesitate to come back and try something else off their menu.

The only saving grace - the rooms are pretty.

From the moment we arrived, the entrance was a standout disguised as a regular laundromat with a bouncer outside. The door itself was cleverly hidden, blending in as a regular washing machine, and if you weren't in the know, you'd probably miss it entirely. Once inside, we descended into a spacious area with two bar stations and a stage set up for live music, which gave the place an exciting, eclectic vibe. Since it was our first time, we asked for the cocktail menu and were fortunate to have Dan as our bartender, easily one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. His drink-making skills were on another level, and we immediately struck up a great conversation. Dan started us off with some unique choices from the menu. I tried the Smoked Apple Fashion, which was incredibly smooth with a crisp apple flavor and a subtle smoky finish. It was so easy to drink almost too easy! My girlfriend ordered the Gangnam Style, which was visually stunning with boba pearls, though not very strong if you're after a more potent drink. Next, I had the Cider House Mule, and it was hands-down the best mule I've ever tasted. They swapped out the typical vodka for spiced rum, and it was a game changer bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. This is when things started to get really fun. Dan, seeing that we were enjoying ourselves, began crafting custom drinks for us, starting with Dan's Malibu Special for my girlfriend. She loves Malibu, and this drink was fruity, smooth, and delicious. It was so good, I had to order one for myself. Dan recommended adding a shot of tequila to give it a bit more kick, and he wasn't wrong this was next-level good. Honestly, Dan's Malibu Special needs to be a permanent item on their menu. It's that good and would definitely be a hit. Dan then served up a Peanut Noir Old Fashioned. I know I know, peanut in a cocktail sounds odd, but it was incredible! I was blown away by how well the peanut flavor worked in an Old Fashioned. It was one of those drinks that make you question why you haven't had something like it before. Dan mentioned that unlike many places that use store bought ingredients, they make a lot of their mixers and components from scratch. For instance, their ginger root is muddled fresh for mules rather than relying on ginger beer, which really makes a difference in flavor and freshness. Following that, I tried a Chocolate Old Fashioned, which, while still very smooth, was probably the weakest of the Old Fashioneds I had that night, but it still went down easy. By this point, I was starting to feel the effects of all these fantastic cocktails, especially since I hadn't eaten all day! I ended my night with a Summer Old Fashioned, garnished with either rosemary or thyme (I can never tell the difference). It had that signature smoothness Dan brought to all his Old Fashioneds and was a perfect end to the night. The ambiance of The Laundromat was fantastic. It had a lively yet relaxed feel, with a mixed crowd of both older and younger patrons. Sports were playing on the TVs, and you could tell the energy would pick up even more when the live music kicked off around 7:30. Unfortunately, we had to leave before that to grab some food (after all that drinking, I needed something in my stomach!). Thankfully, I had the foresight to take a Lyft to The Laundromat, easily the best decision of the night. Overall, The Laundromat is an absolute gem. The drinks were some of the best I've ever had, the conversation with Dan was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a fun, laid-back night out. I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable cocktail experience.

Despite this, the manager refused to provide our party with the brunch menu and insisted we order from the regular menu, even after we politely requested otherwise. It later became clear that this decision was based on the size of our party rather than an actual menu policy. The manager repeatedly claimed that brunch ended earlier than what was printed on the menu, which was confusing and inconsistent. After unnecessary back and forth, the chef ultimately approved our ability to order from the brunch menu, confirming that this was not a kitchen issue. This was especially disappointing as we were celebrating my son's birthday, and what should have been a pleasant occasion was unnecessarily stressful. The manager's approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and confrontational. In contrast, our waiter was excellent. He was attentive, courteous, and did everything possible to make the experience positive despite the circumstances. Honoring published menu times and treating guests with respect are basic service expectations. Unfortunately, poor management overshadowed what could have otherwise been an enjoyable celebration.

There is also seating on an outdoor terrace on the second floor and a few tables in front of the restaurant on South Street if you're up for dining al fresco. It's a terrific option in Morristown that's sophisticated enough for a date on the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperates or a pre-theater meal in the dining room, yet casual enough for beers and appetizers while watching a game in the bar area. The menu captures the essence of modern American comfort food. Whether you're grabbing the Stirling Burger ($18) -- made from a tasty short rib and brisket blend -- or splurging on the Grilled New York Strip ($48) topped with crabmeat fries, the quality is evident. They are also great with dietary restrictions. Between the various poultry, fish, and vegetarian options on the menu and the kitchen's willingness to make moderate accommodations in any other dish, there's something for everyone. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. We recently celebrated my niece's 21st birthday here, and our server made it memorable by honoring her milestone birthday by playfully asking for her ID EVERY SINGLE TIME she ordered a drink. It became a running joke for the night and made the occasion feel extra special. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars for me is that both sides of the main floor can get pretty loud when it's packed and the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Stirling Tavern offers a Happy Hour Monday through Friday between 3pm and 6pm, which features specials on certain cocktails, wines, beers, and light snacks. You must be seated at the bar to take advantage of the promotional pricing. If you enjoy a good Old Fashioned, try the JB ($10), made with Four Roses bourbon, blood orange amaro, orange & angostura bitters. PRO TIP #2: Stirling Tavern does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of paid on-street parking on South Street or Maple Avenue. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. First, overall I'd say the food was very good on all five visits. The first two nights, I had dinner here. On the first night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a bowl of the French onion soup and the halibut. The soup wasn't huge for $12, but it tasted good, and the halibut was quite flavorful. I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.
