So, I scheduled a massage IN PERSON two days ago, for 4:30 today. I get a call at 4:00 from someone who works there who says that the guy who was supposed to do my massage needs a break at the time I was scheduled for. They offered to do 5:30 instead, twice, to which both times I responded that I couldn't because I had plans. They didn't seem at all sorry. Not only is it NOT my problem that someone screwed up scheduling, calling THIRTY minutes before, when I was about to walk out the door, is ridiculous. I used a Groupon for this place a year or so ago and it was not what I expected. I expect to leave from a massage more relaxed than when I came in, but that didn't happen. The place looked clean, but the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I had to fill out some documents on an iPad and then waited for my masseuse. I forget the name of the lady, but it felt like she was massaging me with hands made of jello. I basically paid 30.00 for her to spread lotion on my back. She was enormous, and seemed like she was out of breath just from being conscious . She sat on a rolling stool for the entire "massage". When she was finished huffing and puffing her breath all over me I went out front and this is where it got even worse. They started trying to get me to sign up for their membership program that supposedly saves you money somehow. I couldn't figure out how so I declined over and over and over. It was like used car salesmen pressure and I finally had to be a bitch and explained that I did the math and the membership doesn't save money for me. I hated the entire experience and will never go back. For those who had a good experience, I am glad for you, but mine was the exact opposite and it seems like I'm not the only one. By the way, I still tipped her $15.00 because the only thing worse than getting a bad massage is being labeled a cheapskate. read more

Let me first start off by saying that out of all the massage places I've been to, including chiropractor offices, Massage Luxe has, by far, THE BEST, most professional ans experienced massage therapists I have ever encountered. Just today, my fiance and I had an unfortunate experience with some major car repairs that needed to be attended to ASAP. This was going to kill us financially this month with all the wedding stuff we've been paying for. After scrambling to figure out where we could save every penny, I called Massage Luxe in Willowbrook and talked to Jason, who by the way is one of the biggest reasons we would never want to leave Massage Luxe, and he was so helpful in allowing us to waive this months charge for our membership. This helps us so much and next month we will go back to normal charges and enjoying our massages. I started going to Massage Luxe about 2 years ago & did sign up for the packages, which I thought were great. I thought Jason the manager was outstanding, never had a problem with him or anyone at the desk. It was my first time using a male masseuse "T". I was hesitant at first but gave it a shot. My massages were amazing, as I travel all over world & it could compare to none. I loved it & felt more comfortable with each additional massage. It was like I found Heaven, UNTIL HE ASKED ME OUT WHILE HE WAS MASSAGING ME !! I immediately tensed up & felt trapped. Then, he got inappropriate with getting just a bit too close to "private" areas...just creepy. Yes, I wanted a happy ending just not that kind !! I got a groupon and agreed to purchase the monthly membership. After realizing that I was too busy with my 1 year old and I couldn't make it every month, I decided to cancel. I went in person to cancel and filled out the yellow form. The following month, I realized I was charged on my credit card. I called massage luxe and spoke to the manager Jason. He said that because he tried to keep the acct open for at least a month so I can redeem my massage from last month, it charged me. I said fine, just cancel and refund my $ back. He said he cancelled it and should get the refund. Mind you, I cancelled in May and we are now in June when we had this conversation. I forgot all about July because I thought Jason took care of it. Now here comes August and I look at my cc statement. Lo and behold, I was charged for July and August as well. And I did not get the refund for June. Called Jason again. And of course there was some phone tag going on. it went on for days. Finally he said the acct is now canceled. Should it have been cancelled 3 months ago? Why are my still getting charged. He assured me that this will be taken care of. Of course it took about a whole week of playing phone tag with him to get my refund back. And when I did, the guy at the front desk was little sarcastic about it. Whatever. Its ashamed because they gave me a good deep tissue massage but the cancellation aspect of this is no fun at all. Went on a groupon gift for a facial and 15 minute hydro luxe. The environment was nice. I had a facial with Rachel and she was awesome. Walked me through several options and made recommendations. The facial was really good. She was knowledgeable and very sweet. I also loved the hydro luxe bed. Nice way to get a short massage/like experience after the facial. I spoke to the most rude and obnoxious General Manager (Brian Sinclair) at this Willowbrook location. I was not allowed to speak without being interrupted each time, and as I was trying to speak all he was doing was making noises and making comments such as "Oh God". Not to mention that the massages are not great and they do not give you the allotted amount of time for your actual massage. I will not recommend this place to any more of my friends and the ones that signed up because of me I will definitely let them know to cancel their membership. I have just returned from a Swedish massage with Carol. I had never been to this location and came here on a groupon. However, I must say I had a very pleasant experience! Carol was extremely knowledgable and always asked if I wanted more or less pressure. She also made sure to work extra long on my problem areas and did an awesome job of working out my knots. She's been a massage therapist for almost 30 years and it really shows. She hit some pressure points I did not even know I had! The front office staff were also very nice and professional and the place was clean. I would definitely recommend a visit to this location. If you're new to the place, your first hour massage is $38. My appointment was at 7pm for a 1 hour deep tissue massage. I was told to come in early to sign some paperwork so i did that. The receptionist was very friendly and offered me water and tea. But then I was in the waiting room until 7:05 and then brought into my room. I then changed, which was about 3-4 minutes. Then my massage started; and ended at about 7:52pm. If you ask me, that's a short 1 hour massage. I expected to be in the room until about 8:05-8:10 due to the spa running a few minutes behind but that was not the case. In these economic times businesses need to increase their customer service to hold on to business. Massage Luxe gets that. From our first introductory massage we were hooked. We were handled with courtesy, professionalism and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. The environment there is so relaxing and inviting. The treatment rooms are clean and easy to relax in. And the therapists? Well, Let me compliment them immensely. My husband has had back issues for years and a regular regime of massage therapy under Christine's hands has meant less pain, more mobility and more fun! :) Kevin is greatly skilled as well. As for the membership. No pushy sales, no frills, no unexpected charges. The program is simple clear and easy. Putting all the businessy stuff aside. The people at Massage Luxe are nothing short of wonderful. I had a recent surgery that prevented me from getting massages for 6 weeks! My husband kept his appointment and I went to pick him up. As I sat in the car i was suddenly surrounded with my 2 favorite therapists and the general manager giving me hugs and checking up on me. It was a wonderful moment and completely made my day. Hi there, a few months ago I also went in for a massage, however, my experience was so good that when I signed up same day, that first hour massage was free and with my new membership I still had two full hour massages in my account. (By they way, it's an ongoing offer of $38 for your first visit - so check it out - come on...$38 for a hour massage?!?!!?). When I first called up I said I really like 'deep tissue' and I was given the name of a couple therapists who have that . Since then I've gone to both Christine and Kevin and they are powerhouses - if you want them to be. Me, I really want that 'deep tissue' massage where you pinpoint problem areas and I'll tell you...they will spend the time to work on it. I've even booked a couple hour and a half sessions because my neck or legs were really aching after all the work out I've been giving them. It's well worth it. They will always have the little chilled bottles of water for you and sometimes I'm leaving with a few of them because I need to hydrate. My friend has recently tried Tracy and loves her. Jason is the manager there and he is very kind and professional. If I have any questions or comments he's always at the front desk or walking the floor. After my first couple sessions, I walk in and am greeted by name and that is a nice touch. I pay $88 month and that pays for 2 - 1hr sessions. For any of you out there who have gone to the other spas in the area know this is an absolute steal! I'm tired of paying $90 to $145 PER 1 hour session - now mind you the full spa atmosphere is nice - especially when you can enjoy a steam before your shower, but when it comes down to it, I love this Willowbrook Massage Luxe. I've never had the luxury of being able to keep up on working my sore muscles. But for $44, twice a month - I'm sold. And the quality of these folks who are working on me is just as good as the oak brook / hinsdale places I've been going to for years. Sure, you may hear someone who is talking loud as they walk down the hall, but I could care less, you're not in sound proof rooms anywhere you go. I was nervous to go here based on the other reviews, but am glad I did. I bought the groupon and then took the sign up deal, which was to sign up for two months minimum and they give you the first massage with the groupon free and applied the groupon toward the next massage. So ultimately got three massages for $120 total ($40 each)...umm, yes please. I would highly recommend massage therapist Jaime. Only complaint is no showers, but that isn't the business model, which makes sense to keep costs down. It does take a while to get in with the groupon, but they need to keep slots open for members, so I understood that too. read more

I also went here with a Groupon and expected the worst. To my surprise the staff was very friendly and did not try to sell me on any monthly package. My masseuse, Coleen, had me in her room within 10 minutes of arriving and discussed with me what type of massage I was expecting. The massage lasted a full hour and Coleen asked me several times if the amount of pressure was good. Once the hour massage was done the General Manager set me up with the 15 minute hydro luxe treatment, which was an added bonus. I would definitely return if I lived in the area. I have read the many reviews and have decided to add one of my own. I too like many began going here due to the Groupon coupon and joined the monthly plan. I have ben having massages done for many years and have went to numerous places across the Chicagoland area. I feel some of the comments are based on poeple that were new to the process. First of all, every massage therapist is not going to be to your liking. We all have different levels of expectations. You need to openly communicate with your therapist if they are not doing something to your liking and give them the opportunity to adjust. If they do not, then you need to try another therapist. This is true no matter where you go. You must also realize, sometimes folks are just new and are learning their way. Don't wait until the end, speak up immeidately. Perhaps ask others who they use and what type of massage do they have. Secondly, the prices are great. The average one hour massage in chicago costs $60-65/hr and that does not include dressing/undressing time typically. So the monthly rate beats this by a lot no matter which plan you go with. Higher end places, cost even more up to the hundred dollar range. I have the 2 hr plan and I love that the time rolls over and is not lost like at some other places that offer plans. Plus you can buy additional time at the same monthly rate, not full rates which no other place has offered where I have been serviced. Thirdly the management (Jason) is friendly but must walk a line between running his busness and not overaccomadating customers who try to take advantage of what they signed up for. Yelling at anyone never yields positive results and I find that dealing with certain matters don't work well over the phone. I have never had an issue with Jason or anyone, but did have issues with needing to keep my account updated and adjust when funds would be withdrawn. Making an appointment and then not showing but wanting to use the same credits should not be accomodated. There is a policy for that and sometimes you just have to take a loss when something personal comes up in your life. That time was reserved for you, no other customer was put in your place and the therapist was available...your fault, not his. The decor and ambience is one of peace when you enter the door to the relaxation room. Water and tea are offered before your therapist arrives to greet you and show you to the room. Again, if lights are an issue speak up and say something to your preference for it to be darker or brighter. In the winter, I love when the heating pads are turned on. Even the bathrooms are nicely done, but watch that lock. The folks are friendly from the moment you walk in until you leave. Nice location, lots of parking and a growing business, so appointments are necessary. They have only cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions in the winter in the few years I have been a member. I highly recommend them to people who know about getting massages. Newbies need to head the advice and learn the process. Don't committ right away if you are not sure, try it a few times and different therapists. read more

Tried Massage Luxe via a groupon. Very strange and disappointing experience overall. First when I called for appt. they tried to give me (female) a male to do the massage, which I thought was improper to assume that was OK. Then I got a reminder call for the appt. in which the message said "for your 5AM appt."..... which should have been 5PM, so I had to call them to verify the time. Arriving at the facility, they asked for several info sheets to be filled out, and too much information considering identity theft... they were VERY demanding that I fill in my birth date, to the point of rudeness. The female massage therapist did not even look at my completed sheets to see what type of massage I wanted. English was her second language, so I had a hard time understanding her and vice-versa. When it was done, I was in terrible pain and could barely walk. Only when I was almost out the door did they then remind me that I also had hydrolux (water) massage time as part of the deal, but by then I was in a hurry to leave. Of course they tried to sell me on a monthly plan, but even after I told them that I could not do it due to upcoming surgery, they ignored me and persisted in repeating the same sales pitch again. I called, set up for Saturday the 14th, got asked all the same questions that I filled out online.( Waste of my time) She then asked me for CC. I explained I have gift card, she said give me numbers, told her it was paper and I can not read it, she told me that they will not accept that for the holding appointment. I told her that I will bring CC in later in the day, I work from home. She said she can not hold appointment, they need to be sure that they get paid if I'm a no show. Really? I told her I will be there within 2 hours, and she said, no exceptions. Not only does she get to the root of the problem, she also recommends stretches I should do at home to help my neck and back pain. I tried couple more masseuses and they had really bad manners and only gave me little pat on my back but once I met Jennifer I decided to continue my membership at Massage Luxe just to visit her every month! My daughter went there yesterday with a $40 groupon and after the massage was brought into a room where the door was closed by the female masseuse and told she should give more than a $13 tip. She also talked the whole time asking questions and continuously tried to up sell additional services. Not relaxing at all! I called and spoke to the manager who hopefully will fire the masseuse who tried to strong arm my 21 yr old college student daughter. Don't use a female masseuse with a European accent. read more

Had my facial with Rachel this past weekend. It was awesome! She help go over the various types and what would be best for my skin. Very relaxing and refreshing. She took time to explain each step of facial and what products she was using. I would highly recommend Massage Luxe! I tried the service with the $39 special. Like ALL other massage salons one hour = 50 minutes of actual massage time (10 min of the hour is for a consult with the therapist, undressing, and dressing). I decided due to a back and hip injury to sign up for the two month/once a week package. My massage therapist, Mariah, was excellent. She listened to my needs each week, and she greatly helped me with my movement to improve my quality of life. There was no problem discontinuing the service. Just be sure to read your contract and cancel BEFORE it renews. No issues about that at all. I will continue to go to Massage Luxe and ask for Mariah when I am able to do so again and when needed. read more
