I booked services at La Peau in Fresno for a bachelorette party of six. The week of the event, I…read morecalled to modify just my massage because I was five weeks postpartum, dealing with a painful PUPPP rash and stitches in my back from a biopsy. I asked if there was any way to adjust my service, and I was told they would work with me and that the owner would call me that week to discuss a solution. On the day of the appointment, I received my facial (which was fine) and was told again that the owner would reach out soon to arrange something for the unused massage portion. But I never received a call. When I followed up afterward, I was told that because I booked in a group, they would not offer any accommodation--such as store credit or gift card--even after explaining my medical situation. Given that I personally spent $360 and our group spent around $1,800 including tip, I expected a basic level of compassion, especially for a postpartum mom with an ongoing medical issue. I wasn't looking for special treatment, just a reasonable accommodation for a service I physically could not receive. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with me given my specific situation was deeply disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spa. Attached is a photo of what my back looked like the evening before the massage (mind you, this was all over my body).

While guided to my locker and given a robe and slippers, I was offered a mimosa, wine, or other menu drink. Opted for a warm drink at the snack and beverage station. Shortly afterwards, I was summoned and led to my appointment. The massage with Matilda was divine. Because massages are often not long enough, I strongly suggest scheduling a longer massage when time allows. Afterwards, my friend and I sat in the sauna. Appreciated and loved the basic yet luxury products available for use. Simply needed one of the hair brushes, a hairband, and bobby pins after utilizing the shower. Before leaving, we returned our locks and keys. Everyone was wonderfully helpful. Already pre planning and looking forward to my next visit.

Highly recommend Muses for a relaxing, top-notch experience!

I bought two luxury packages for my husband and I as an anniversary gift, after reading the reviews. I wanted to love it, after a stressful quarter at work and a day off to relax, I thought this would be just the thing. It started out well. Low lights, quiet music, then a cell phone went off, not silent. It was the woman's phone who was doing my treatment. Ok, I'm thinking, maybe an emergency, you never know, let's give the benefit of the doubt. She answers the phone and walks out of the room. She comes back we get back to the treatment, another phone call, then a third. She takes the calls each time and walks out of the room. A man comes into an adjacent space next to ours and his phone is dinging as well. Now, that is not the salon's problem, but after the fifth interruption to what is supposed to be calm and relaxing, it's anything but calm and relaxing. The package is supposed to come with a shoulder and arm massage. I didn't get that. All in all, not what I expected or paid for.

Even when I told her I had arthritis to my lower back and I don't want her stepping on me, she stretched me and put her whole weight on my lower back. Then there was a period where she was working on my left lower leg and it just felt like she was just lightly rubbing on it as if like she's distracted on her phone or something. It was a good 5-10 minutes before I told her to move onto my feet. And whenever she put heavy pressure on me, I would tell her and she would just laugh and jokingly put super light pressure in response. I told her that if she is going to put pressure on my bones then it is going to hurt. She needs to learn to massage the muscles and not the bones. And that was not even the end of it, I planned to not give her any tips due to her poor performance today and when I went to go pay up at the front, I only paid for the massage session and gave no tips, I was attacked by the front lady saying that I never tip when I come, which was a complete lie. I have tipped many times before and this session with the masseuse was bad. This place craves for tips and is very rude when they give you poor performance and you don't give them any tips.
