I planned a spa day for my husband's birthday well in advance. The day before his appointment, I received a call informing me that the esthetician who performs the facials was sick, so that portion of his appointment would need to be rescheduled. Although I was annoyed, I chose to make the best of it and keep the remaining services. About an hour later, I received another call from the spa saying his appointment time had to occur at a later time than I booked. After multiple changes, inconvenience, and uncertainty, I decided to cancel the entire appointment. I requested a full refund. I spoke with the manager, and the owner personally called me to apologize and assured me that I would receive a full refund. I appreciated the apology, accepted it, and moved on. Imagine my surprise when I received my credit card statement and discovered that I had been charged the full amount for a spa day that never happened. I immediately contacted the spa and spoke with the manager, but the explanations I received for why the refund had not been processed were unconvincing and frustrating. After everything that happened, I should not have had to chase down money that I was already promised would be refunded. I'm now being told that I will actually receive my full refund. That remains to be seen. The entire experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Customer service isn't just about apologizing, it's about following through! Unfortunately, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be patronizing Sensory Sentiments again. To the owner, manager and staff...DO BETTER!

Simply the Best -- A True Healer!…read more I've been seeing Venise at Indulgence Health for years, and I can honestly say she is the best massage therapist I've ever had and I'm a massage enthusiast who has seen many! I originally came to her with chronic back pain, and her care has been absolutely life-changing. Venise's approach goes far beyond massage she embodies true holistic wellness. She takes time to understand what your body needs and integrates techniques that relieve tension, fluid retention, and stress. I love that she also offers teas, wellness recommendations, and personalized care that support healing from the inside out. The ambiance is peaceful and rejuvenating, and everyone on her team provides excellent service. I've tried other therapists there as well, and they're wonderful too, but Venise's touch and intuition are unmatched. If you're looking for a place that blends professional expertise, holistic healing, and genuine care, Indulgence Health is it. Highly recommend!

I did a quick search on Yelp and saw that Massage Crystal in Crofton, MD offered massages. Since it was extremely short notice, I wasn't sure if he would be granted an appointment. Nevertheless, I gave them a call and was pleasantly surprised they had availability for my husband. The customer service I received on the call was professional and helpful. The day of the appointment, he arrived on time and was set up in one of the massage rooms. He said he had a wonderful massage and would absolutely come back in the future. The shop itself was very modest and straight to the point, no big thrills or frills, but it works! They only offer massages, but just know you'll receive a wonderfully relaxing massage if you plan to visit. They offer deep tissue, hot stone, etc. Thanks Massage Crystal for picking up the ball that the other spa I made an appointment with dropped!

Since I saw Daisy (formerly Jing Jing) was under new ownership with new staff, I decided to give…read morethem a shot on Friday (a rainy Veteran's day). Overall, I'd say my specific experience was closer to 3.5 stars, but I'll bump them up to 4, giving the benefit of the doubt that some issues detailed below were beyond the control of the therapist and spa. The good: **Mary is a fantastic massage therapist. She was communicative, friendly, and responsive when I asked for adjustments/changes. She understood what I wanted to have her focus on and did a great job. By herself, it would be a 5* experience. **The spa is clean and relaxing. Both the massage rooms and the restroom were in great shape. **New Massage tables - at least when compared to my previous experience with Jing Jing/Daisy. **Very affordable, especially with the cash discount for a one-hour massage. Things that could have been better, but I'm not docking a star for: **The night sky ambiance (noted in other google and yelp reviews) wasn't offered - but giving that I'm face up for only about 10-15 minutes, it isn't a huge thing. **Similarly, their website mentions essential oils and hot stone, but again, these weren't offered/discussed. Depending on the cost, they might have been added to the massage. The things that made my overall experience less than stellar: **I called around noon, and made an appointment for 3pm. I arrived around 2:50, and Mary came out of one of the rooms to meet me. She told me things were a bit behind, and it would be 3:15, and showed me what room I would be in. At 3:15, she came in, and said the previous customer was just finishing up. However, by the time the previous customer dressed, paid, and perhaps Mary flipped the room, it was 3:30 before she started with me. So we are a half hour behind the original time. **Mary was also quite busy with being a receptionist - she answered about 5 calls, and had to leave the room to attend to other issues twice. The interruptions definitely affected the flow of the massage. I don't know if they were short staffed, or extra busy due to the rainy federal holiday. **Despite losing some time due to the interruptions for when she had to leave the room, the session ended promptly at 4:30 - no extra time given to make up for time that I was not the initiator of missing time. Most times for the phone she continued the massage while quietly talking to the customer. **At least for my session, the door was kept slightly propped open by a plastic spray bottle on the floor. Not exactly private, especially since I was in the room right next to the lobby. If any one of the above things had been an individual incident, I probably wouldn't think much about them. But when they all occur on the same visit, well... the whole is greater than the sum of the parts... Maybe it was just a rough day for them. Hopefully my next experience will be a little smoother.
