My only suggestion is that the neck pillows hurt my neck when laying face down; I'm not sure if it's just my sized body (I'm a smaller person) or if it's the pillow itself; I think they are too large and high to use for that purpose. Next time I will skip the neck pillow. Thank you! I will return!

My boyfriend is a diabetic and the gal was able to get those darn knots in his foot out with very little issue. However, when I got there I was told $52 (I wasn't going to make a big deal out of $2. After all, costs are increasing). I was asked if I wanted to tip after the massage and I said yes. The massage was lovely, that included hot rocks and a cooling face mask. The masseuse had strong hands and was able to get in deep. She packed in a lot of massage in 30 minutes! When it was over I said I wanted to give a $5 tip to which the woman said $10, confusing me. She then pointed to the prices which said $60 for deep tissue. I did get a deep tissue massage so I didn't argue. When I asked why the "women massage" was $80 (since I am a woman) I was told that included a facial. Their website is somewhat confusing, though I would go again!

Also, know I only leave reviews of the good studios. So if I'm writing, it's a good studio. I attended the Yin class with Emily and was really impressed by her sequencing and the atmosphere she created, even virtually. When you're an experienced Yin Yogi, you can tell quickly whether you're taking a class by a yoga teacher trying to teach Yin or a Yin teacher teaching a Yin class. Emily is a Yin teacher! I felt so wonderfully stretched out and relaxed after class. I would totally recommend their virtual studio to anyone, because they are prompt with communications and getting their link out. I'll be back for more virtual classes. Their community was so welcome and excited to have me, even actively welcoming me and chatting with me before class started. Cool people!

I recently decided it was time to start up yoga again. I am a larger woman and some places I've…read moregone for yoga have been less than stellar about my accepting and encouraging what I can do. At Woodstock Wellness Center all of the instructors have been wonderful. They seem to embrace and encourage all types of people - all sizes, colors, shapes, and abilities. The only little blip I ran into was one of the substitute instructors - she was supposed to be teaching a Basics class however she taught a class that was more of a gentle Vinyasa. I have enjoyed the many classes I have taken in the past 3 weeks and look forward to continuing my yoga practice at WWC.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a really light and pleasant vibe. I called from my…read morecar to let them know I arrived and was let in shortly. I was wisely given the option to use the restroom since I had a 90 minute massage. It was stocked with extras like hair ties, a small gesture but an appreciated one. I'm sure all of us have arrived to a massage and forgotten to bring one, and having your hair hanging around your shoulders/face isn't ideal. I was led back into the room, which felt extra cozy since it was almost nightfall. Daniela M. let me know she was planning to use hot stones and a cupping technique where she moves the suction around to break adhesions up so she can better get to my problem areas. I'd never done it before, so I was excited yet apprehensive. The only thing I know about cupping is the round bruises I've seen on friends backs. However with this specific technique, there was zero bruising and it felt so amazing! I've honestly never walked away from a massage feeling like my body had let out such a huge sigh and released all this tension. I used to be able to crack my back at home simply by using a back roller but it's been years. A few hours after I left my appointment here, I ran myself down the back roller and heard the beautiful sound of "pop pop pop pop" from everything resetting itself. After chugging a ton of water and stretching, I headed off into my best night of sleep in a long while. I think Daniela M. will have to become part of my monthly routine. She balanced out really getting into problem areas of my body, while moving to softer and more relaxing techniques. It's hard to find someone who can do the work needed to get out the knots while still having you enjoy the overall experience. She was also great at being personable, with some small talk that usually I initiated, while still giving space for silence so that I could zone out. In the end, this is the first time I've debated setting a monthly massage with someone. I've enjoyed past massages, I've had tons at highly rated and respected places. Yet this is the first time someone has been able to make my muscles feel like jello (in a good way) without me cringing the entire time and feeling beat up the following days. You won't regret coming here. It is an investment into your own health and happiness. My husband has also come in, seeing a different person but having a similar experience. You can't go wrong :)

The front desk worker Ocean is costing their own LMTs money. I called Elk Rock Wellness for the…read morefirst time to book a specific modality--neuromuscular trigger point therapy (and potentially deep tissue)--for an upcoming Saturday. What followed was one of the most unprofessional and confusing front-desk interactions I have ever experienced. The receptionist was completely unfamiliar with standard massage terminology. She didn't know what neuromuscular therapy was, stumbled over "trigger point," and didn't seem to understand that they are closely related modalities. Despite representing a large clinic with numerous LMTs, she could not tell me if any therapist on staff specialized in this work, nor could she confirm schedule availability for the upcoming Saturday. Her solution was to tell me she "might" call me back the next day after checking. Asking a potential new client to wait over 24 hours just to find out if a clinic is even capable of performing a requested service is entirely unacceptable. When I explained that I would have to take my business elsewhere if basic scheduling and modality questions couldn't be answered, she seemed completely baffled. What kills me is that her lack of training directly hurts the therapists working there. By being completely unable to sell their services or book a basic appointment, she essentially reached right into an LMT's pocket and snatched a $120 session away from them. I will be taking my business to a clinic that actually understands basic massage therapy terminology and values a client's time. Avoid this place unless you already have a direct line to a specific therapist, because the front desk is actively driving new business out the door.

I get a massage once every couple months (but I really should go more often than that). I discovered my super awesome massage therapist Amy over two years ago! I can't believe there have been no reviews for her fabulous establishment...maybe a part of me wants to keep Amy all to myself? Haha, if you knew of her fabulous package prices for her services and how attentive Amy is to your needs, I bet you would feel the same way too :) PROS: As mentioned earlier, Amy doesn't just give you a massage, she asks questions about your daily life, your routine, and overall lifestyle to ensure she delivers a customized massage for you. When you go in for your massage, she will ask if you want 1) All over body massage 2) Focused sections or 3) All over but with focused sections. I always found option #3 to be the most helpful and beneficial to me. There is a parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking before your relaxation time. It's in a plaza building, you go up the stairs and your second right. Amy regularly has these wonderful deals on massage packages, making 60 min massages as low as $38 per session. I usually buy the 60 min packages whenever she sends me those promo emails. CONS: I can't really think of any... POINTERS: I refer my friends and co-workers to her and they love her.
