We got the combination massages for $50/hour, which included a head and shoulder massage, foot massage, and then a back/oil massage for about 30 minutes. Given the past reviews, I requested a female therapist and my partner had a male therapist. The massages were very firm and strong. They work hard here and got a good amount of knots out. I would describe the massage as a lot of pressure with a Swedish and acupressure style with some Thai massage-like stretches. I think there were instances of the deep tissue massage on my shoulders, but there could have been more deep tissue at other aspects of the massage, though don't be afraid to ask them to focus on certain spots. The place was cold with AC on, but the hot stones they put on your foot, back and neck throughout were warming. The place was separated into various rooms with curtains. To respond to other comments about tipping -- Because massage places like these are deeply discounted costing $40-70 instead of $80-110, I don't understand the issue with tipping $20 for a strong massage. It is still deeply discounted, so keep that in mind when frequenting these "cheaper" massage places - people still deserve a living wage. Would definitely recommend this no-frills place. read more

They got the job done! Walk in welcomed, no appointment needed, so affordable for deep tissue and hot stone included. I'll call it the deli of massage whenever you're super tight and needing deep tissue massage without the hassle of making an appointment and still having to wait a few days or even weeks. Quick in and out so don't expect any amenities nor compare it to your typical luxury spa. I spontaneous drop in on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm because my shoulder and back were so tight. I got the 90 minutes combo for $70, tipped $20 since it was exactly what I needed with no added luxuries of standard spa. I always loved deep tissue massage so I didn't mind a male masseur. He checked in often with me to ensure the pressure was okay. I asked if I wanted him to walked on my back and of course I did. All and all I was satisfied with my treatment for a very affordable price of $90 total for 90 minutes whole body massage; you can't ask for anything less than that. If you have sensitive skin, perhaps skip the facial massage part since l'm almost certain they use the same lotion for the whole body as well though I didn't ask them to confirm it. Since I live near by so I went straight home to take a shower afterwards. It's best you wear short or shrort and tank top for full body massage. You always have the option to undress to your comfort level or fully clothed. read more

"Peter" apparently was not wearing underwear under his baggy sweat pants and i felt his penis rubbing against my hand and arm multiple times during the massage. He also pressed his crotch right into the top of my head. I don't care if this was by accident it is disgusting, unprofessional, and sexual assault. Do better. Also pulled on my arms so hard I had to move it away as I was afraid my wrist and shoulder would tear. Also asked him not to touch a problem area on my shoulder and he rubbed it anyway. I should have said something to the manager but I was there with my friend and just wanted to leave as fast as possible. I'm never letting a man massage me ever again. Disgusting. If you're a woman I don't recommend coming here. read more

My bf and I came here as of July 16, 2023 at 4pm. We called first to see how much a full body massage was and a man answer and told us it's $40. We were already there waiting in our car in the parking lot. After hearing $40 bucks for a full body massage we walked in. As we got inside a man and a petite lady didn't speak any English and pointed at the board showing us how much a full body massage cost and it was written $60 dollars on the board. We were trying to explain to them that we were told on the phone it was $40. Then I believe the owner walks in and tells us it was her husband that talked to us and we were trying to tell her that who ever answer the phone told us it's $40 that's why we went there. So owner Lily said full body massage is $60 and also pointed at the board showing the pricing. My bf and I didn't think it was a big deal we just wanted to express that we were told $40 yet we go inside and they tell us it's $60. Seems like it was some kind of miscommunication. So we tell Lily that it's ok and said never mind it wasn't that big of a deal as we start to walk away she wanted to take us in and offer us the $40 for full body massage for 1 hour. That was nice of her. I took off my shirt and bra and laid face down first. I had my massage from a petite lady and she did a great job! She is strong for her size. I definitely enjoyed it. It was a little hard but I could bare it. People need to understand about getting a massage. When you get a massage it should be relaxing but not super hard where they hurt you but should be bare-able. If you go get a massage and they do it softly then you aren't getting a real massage! You don't want a person to do it too soft that means they are barley working on you. She use the hot stones on me it was a lil hot but I got comfortable as it started to cool down. All I can say is my experience was really good. I read past reviews and a lot of people complained about them being touched the wrong way or did massage to hard or they asking for more in tip money or want cash payment. All I can say for my experience I don't not have any of that. My bf had a skinny Asian guy wearing glasses massage him and he very well enjoyed it and nothing went wrong. So both of our experiences were great and we will definitely go back again and will pay for the $60 for full body 1 hour massage the way they massage on us was way better than the chiropractor we went to at accident care. It was worth it. Honestly just try them out for yourself and write your own reviews sometimes your experience will be different than others. I just wished they had private rooms because you can hear other people in the curtains next to you and the bright light they turned on. I can also hear them talking but massage was good. read more

What to expect with a $25/hr full body massage: clothes on.. firm pressure massage of head, face, neck, shoulders, hands, arms, feet, legs, back, butt... massage beds are in an open room divided by curtains so you may hear (like I did) snoring and moaning of other people... massuers talk to one another...AND EXPECT TO PAY AT LEAST $10-$15 TIP PER MASSAGE. I've gone here 5 times so far and will continue to return. Can't beat that deal read more

Healthy Spa - $25 one-hour, full body massage - Massage Near Me - Portland, Oregon

The male massage therapist, Sam, pressed his erection against my hand. Gives a great massage, but the "what the hell just happened" vibe is tough to shake. Great to have someone work your glutes over, unwelcome to have them get up in your personal bits in the process. There are several other reviews from people who have experienced this same thing. It's subtle, deliberate, and predatory AF. The prices are low with the expectation you tip well - I get the model and always have. Including when they sexually assault me because I didn't have the mental bandwidth to deal with the public shaming at that point. read more

I had a very pleasant and positive experience. The rooms were clean, and the staff was both friendly and welcoming. The massage was excellent, with unhurried, attentive service. The therapist was focused entirely on me, without any interruptions. read more

Amazing!! I I've been coming here for many years and ever since I come every month! I will totally recommend

I decided to give this place another try. Such a better experience all around. Great massage, all staff were friendly, and no comments or pressure to pay in cash. Also given the reviews I asked if Sam was there (as I only have male therapists) and they told me he no longer works there and moved to California. Will definitely go back again. read more

Went here by chance because my normal place didn't have any available spots. Umm how did I not know this place was here?! I was so impressed on how they got 3 people in, all together, on a Saturday. The place is pretty big with group 'rooms' divided it off from the main area but also have curtains in between each bed. I got a 60 min foot/back combo for $40 and they soak your feet, rub you face and head and then full body. It felt like I was getting physical therapy because it was such a deep message. It felt sooo good. But also like it actually was going to make my muscles feel better instead of just relaxing. Then, you guys. HOT. STONES. very very hot stones. They don't just set and leave them, they use them to give you a massage and it's such a nice ending after all the deep tissue. My favorite part was they put a wrap on your feet and put hot stones in your arch and leave them. It was very nice! Covid wise- they all had masks and kept everyone separate. They changed sheets and had face paper things you use when you flip over. I think when it's 'hands on body' type service it's hard, but I felt like they did a good job read more

I came thru here recently, absolutely loved it. After reading the reviews below and even some of the pictures, I can say my experience was different and the place looked different than in some of the pictures so I'm wondering if it's changed hands. Also, I wasn't pressured at all on a tip, they just asked me if I wanted to give one, and I typed in the amount. With that being said, it's important to know what you are getting into. You're going to get a thai massage, which in my experience is going to be a more physical, deeper massage. If you're looking for a relaxing experience or looking for more of a light pressure, this probably isn't your place. It's cheap, but the place is clean, the people are friendly, and you're isolated by curtains. I'd say at a place like Elements, you're buying a steak, and you can expect certain things that will come with the price tag. Here, you're buying a hot dog and that's the price you're paying. I'll definitely be back often. read more

After reading some of the current reviews, I was hesitant to come here. I've had many massages here in the past & they've all been amazing. They were $20./hour for a full body massage (from head to toe). I went in recently, called ahead for an appointment as usual.... prices have gone up to $60./hour for full body massage excluding your feet. Additional $30./30 minutes for feet only. I couldn't understand the person on the phone quite well but I brought extra cash just in case. When she didn't massage my feet after slapping my legs & said "Okay " which means "all done", I was confused. I asked the lady up front (manager), to add a foot massage, she pointed to the board $30./30minutes. I said Ok. She did a great job but each massage was cut short 5-8 minutes. I tipped her well anyway. read more

Some might think that a full-body massage in a bustling Asian shopping grocery store is sketchy or shady at best. True. However, the dairy aisle is quite peaceful, and the orange cones on either end warn the other shoppers to steer clear. I kid! The reflexology massage studio IS located at Fubonn, but not in the grocery store. Health Spa's store front, with it's blinking neon lights, is just to the right of the front main entrance. Quick warning: the term "Spa" might be a misnomer, or cause irritated confusion to some who are expecting high-hospitality, uniformedly-dressed customer service in an aesthetically pleasing, zen-like ambience. "Health Spa" at Fubonn is not the aforementioned, but that is not what I was looking for this time. I was in need for a strong (some might say aggressive) reflexology, tension-busting, no-nonsense massage. This was definitely it, and at an unbelievable, guilty price of $20! At first I thought it was only going to be a foot massage for an hour, but it was a complete reflexology massage from head to toe! You are greeted in a terse yet friendly manner (I'm presumptously assuming it's from the language barrier) at the front and then led to a large room that is separated by several bamboo room dividers. Each clean and basic individual space has a comfy massage bed with clean linens (I came with a friend and called ahead, so there were two beds in our massage space). Ours had the (dis?)advantage of a giant flat screen tv on one wall, filling the whole studio's ears with Chinese pop and easy-listening music videos. It wasn't blaring, but it's by no means a quiet chant of Tibetan monk music. You stay clothed, except for your shoes and socks. After pushing up your pants to your knees you are instructed to lay back while your feet are soaking in warm water in a lined wooden bucket. The amazing head massage begins and tension begins to melt away. The reflexologist expertly moves from head to toe, kneading out knots and pressing specific target points. He also uses other strokes, including relieving stretches, karate-chop-like rhythms, and squeezing muscles. After the firm foot massage, you are flipped over and the relaxing process is repeated. The best parts of the massage for me was the head/scalp massage, shoulders, and lower back. Throughout the massage process I kept falling asleep, and when it was over, I felt lighter! They accept credit cards and cash. There is a $1 extra charge if you use a card. I didn't experience any pushy pricing quotes as other reviewers. I can easily see this being a weekly must-have, and cannot wait to go back!! My muscles and I highly recommend Health Spa. read more

Healthy Spa - Basic, clean rooms. No frills here whatsoever!! - Massage Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I get monthly chinese foot massage when I was living in San Diego. I was so disappointed when I couldn't find one in Portland. However, I randomly came across this place when shopping at Fubonn. It's a new Chinese Reflexology Massage. I LOVE IT. Excellent price (currently $25/hr! unheard of! should be much higher). Excellent face/arm/foot/leg massage. It's in the top 3 of best chinese reflexology I've visited. For those who don't know, its relaxing and it helps with random things (like constipation). Now, for all you newbies, remember, everyone's pain tolerance is different, and if you have plantar facialis or other foot issues, then yes, it may hurt more. Compare your delicate, beautiful footsies to those tough old chinese men who also go there, and you can see why they use so many levels of pressure and the therapist cannot read your mind. So TELL them it hurts or say OUCH, so they can do something about it. (but whisper it please. Why are people so noisy there? blah blah.."who do i write the check to? how much?") My pet peeve are people who go to these places and RUIN the experience by whining after the treatment (as if they can do something at that point), or writing crappy reviews without communicating with their therapist. I recommend starting with one of the ladies because they tend to be a bit more gentle. I like the deep pressure for all my massage. Nothing fufu for me please. read more

So a group of us were in Portland for a weekend trip and we needed to kill a few hours before dinner. After a quick search on yelp, we found Health Spa. When we arrived, we were greeted by an employee that did not speak english. He quickly wrote down a phone number and pushed us out the door. After calling this number, someone with broken english said we needed an appointment. I told him he we needed four spots. We agreed to the next stop at the top of the hour. 30 minutes later, we arrived and they could only take two of us at a time. After being escorted to my cubicle, I was sat in a chair, the masseuse quickly tried to up-sell me to a more expensive full back massage. Not really sure what the difference because the only thing I understand was $20 and $40. So, I stuck with the $20. The massage was average. Nothing better or worse than what another reflexology place would offer. The only thing I found skeptical, was that I went in first and I came out last. Not sure if they know how long an hour is, but I think my friends might have gotten ripped off. read more

Been going here for 7yrs and would recommend it . For the money you pay $25-$45 it's a great massage. Although be prepared to give at least a $10 tip I usually give them closer to $20 since I know I would have to pay at least $75 for this kind of massage else where. read more

Wow... I've never had a worse experience at a Chinese reflexology massage than this place. Dead serious. I came here with 2 other mates according to our scheduled appointment. After they had to figure out which person fit where and which of their workers were available, we started about 10 minutes later. I was put in the left area with one of my mates where there were 2 chairs sharing the space. The guy I had (short Chinese male wearing glasses) asked what ethnicity I was from the beginning and unfortunately I told him I was part Chinese by responding in poor Mandarin. He then followed with "Please teach me English." He seriously would not stop talking to his coworker and would always ask me questions in Mandarin. If I didn't respond (because I didn't want to), he would ask repeatedly and even pull out his phone to translate. I'd have to open my eyes and respond at that point, so I could never relax. While he was using one hand to massage me while I lay on my back, he even dropped the damn phone on my eyeball! I nearly jumped because it was quite unexpected, but it also hurt as well. Not only was the talking and constant interruption annoying, but he also half-assed it the whole time. I didn't feel like I had any work done on me, instead, it felt like I was just having lotion rubbed into my skin the whole time. I tried to prompt him a few times to put in more effort and not speak so much, but that never worked. At the end, it was $25 each. They then demanded a $15 tip. When did tips become mandatory and have a minimum of $15 at that??! They seemed pretty upset that we were about to give $10 as tip, but we felt like they didn't deserve more than that because my pals didn't have a great experience as well. Too much interruption, poor skills and effort, uncomfortable chairs and tables, nontransparent pricing and demanding tips = ZERO stars if I could. I'd never go back here or recommend it to anyone. read more

This was the worst massage experience for both my boyfriend and I. We chose only the half hour one for $20, but they ended up charging us 25/each and $1 extra charge for w/e reason. My massage was fine- painful, but fine. I felt like all he was doing were lateral, downward pressure moves only. My bf was already feeling pain 3/4 of his massage but thought they would be able to adjust him after, which his person did not. There was so much tension and pain above my bf's left chest area to his back- sharp pain and trouble breathing in he's never experienced before. We kept asking if they can just pop his back to relieve tension, but they told us "appointment only." We don't know how it got like this, but legit I had to actually take him to the ER (note that he was completely fine before). Last thing, I was going to tip them $15, but that guy was telling me 10/each. My bf was in pain and and I didn't fully understand the guy, he deleted on the keypad "15.00" and inserted "20.00" on his own!? I saw the bill and it was $71.00...?! I tried to talk to him and asked him why a couple times, but my bf needed to seek help immediately bc of his pain. This was only our experience, but I do not recommend them NOR will we go back there again. If anyone actually reads this and still decides to try them out, PAY WITH CASH ONLY. These guys will try to take advantage of you and your money. PS you have to apparently pay more for a lady to massage you. I requested for one, but for all the "lower prices" they have guys do it only to both men and women. *We went for our first time on 7/14/18* read more

I LOVE this place. IF you are looking for an even somewhat fancy massage place, this is not for you. Plastic buckets with a clear/clean trash bag lining to soak your feet in etc. BUT this is the standard for authentic Asian foot reflexology. I lived in Portland for 15 years and would treat myself to this place whenever possible. Yeah yeah, you might hear someone whispering next to you occasionally etc but these people are TRUE healers who work their A** off. Western standard is a 20% tip for great spa service but that math doesn't apply here because it's so cheap. Please tip them at least $10, I have tipped $13 to $15 UH-MAZING deep tissue massage. TIP Wear a tank top or loose T and leggings or sweatpants so they can easily access your arms neck, calves etc. helps you to get a better massage! It is a clothing ON massage. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! NEVER STEP FOOT HERE! What a complete FAIL! The language barrier and the most simple communication with them was Awful!) Second visit- I clearly POINTED where I wanted my massage: back shoulders, ONLY hands, ONLY FEET, and only temple area. The male guy who massaged me CLEARLY WAS/IS INCOMPETENT! it was a mixture of pain, and barely knowing the concept of a massage. The first 10minute into my massage was COMPLETE TORTURE! I wanted to get up and walk away, his massage to my temple area gave me a head ache and kept inflicting the pain to one single area of the head. I had to interrupt him several times to tell him where and where not to massage me. He FAILED at so many levels! At the end, I was completely DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED with this poorly run business and attempt to redeem their worth. I ended up tipping anyway even tho the whole entire experience was AWFUL! (I had every damn right not to because of the worst experience) but I tipped anyway. As soon as the massage person realized what I rang in to tip him- he gave a negative response and the manager hovered over my shoulder asking to tip him higher than what I offered. I explained to him that he DID NOT MASSAGE ME CORRECTLY and that I was not happy with the service! The manager insisted again to tip even more even though I already told her and explained to her the situation. This poorly run business should hire or EDUCATE people the concept of a massage. They clearly DO NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF MASSAGE THERAPY! read more

I just got a massage here and I'm feeling kind of weird about it. The man massaging me went too close for comfort to my right nipple and then when massaging my left leg i felt like he went up a little higher than he needed to. Like I felt the top of his hand graze the left part of my vagina. I brushed it off as an accident but he didn't seem phased by it or apologized. Usually at these places I keep all of my clothes on but this time they asked me to disrobe completely. I figured it was because i got the 90 minute combo massage but I'm feeling a kind of off about the whole situation. Has anyone else experienced this here? I didn't want to pan it completely given that maybe I may be over thinking the situation and he did a great job working out the knot on my shoulder. Bur on top of all of this i swear i felt his private area rub on my foot towards the end. I would bring it up to the lady who seemed like she was in charge but the language barrier makes it kind of awkward. If anyone else has experienced that here i would be interested in hearing about it. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The massage itself was okay. I've been to tons of foot reflexology spas and the massage itself doesn't stand out from the others. The service here is what stands out the most and not in a good way. The whiteboard in the front shows $20/hr for a massage but they charged us $30pp for an hour massage. On top of this, they charged $1 for using credit, but no big deal. THEN, as I was filling out tip,10% of $61--the guy was straight up watching me and pointed to a number 20 that has been previously scribbled on a sheet of paper. Being Asian obviously excuses you from any manners and I believed that he wanted a 20% tip. This is rude but whatever right? I'm used to dealing with Asians haggling for more money. But guess what the guy actually meant? $20 TIP for a $60 charge (mind you, we were already overpaying per their listed price). That's a 33% tip y'all. As we were arguing my boyfriend got fed up and suggested we leave. The asian guy ended up holding onto my jacket, preventing me from leaving! My boyfriend saw this and saved the day. My point is--I wouldn't come here ever again. I strongly urge everyone to avoid this place and spend your money at an establishment that's more honest and professional. read more

They were rude, and the massage was hurtful! They demanded on a 10$ tip on the cost of 20$ fee. Tipping 50% shouldn't be demanded. I was hella pissed about that. If they were worth 10$ tip I'd gladly. Honestly 10$ isn't a big deal but the fact that they were rude and unprofessional, I'm never coming back here again. I was going to leave after the 5$ tip but they blocked my way at the door without me leaving because I didn't tip 10$. Who the hell do they think they are? There were so many red flags when I stepped in. Soft porn movie clips on the tv screen and talking over my rest. Hands smelled like cigarettes. Etc. Seriously, someone need to shut that place down. read more

This place is UNREAL! I usually get 1-2 massages weekly. This was by far the worst one I've ever gotten one. They talk loud, they laugh and even use FaceTime while they're massaging you, WTF! The massage was extremely rough. I thought the guy was trying to kill me. Lol. My massage was even interrupted several times because there were loud customers in the waiting room non stop. After the $25 massages for each person (we paid for 4 of us) I went to tip the guy $40 even though I did not want to and he had the damn nerve to reach into my hand and grab more money, I stopped him, he looked at me funny and ask for more money. This place is a joke. I feel like I need to get another massage this guy beat me up. read more

My husband and I LOVE foot massages. I'm not sold on the whole reflexology aspect -- but we sure do LOVE our feet rubbed! We were able to walk in together and get the $20 1-hr. deal. The front "desk" was iffy -- but don't worry!!! They are legit and very welcoming. We were placed in the same little cubicle together and had privacy - which I appreciated. UH.... it was AWESOME!!!! We had the full massage. I have a bad hip and my masseuse could tell right away. He went to work on it and was amazing. I walked out of there with mobility in my shoulder, back and neck I had not had in a long time. He also worked on a spot on my feet for a long time. No idea why or what it was - but he told me "You feel much better" and I did. When it came time to pay, there was no pressure. They were very kind and grateful for their tips. Next time we are in Portland, we will be back! read more

This was the worst "massage" I've had in some time. The experience was meh. I could care less about the ambience as long as it's a clean environment. The man who was at the front was an asshole. Worst massage of my life. The woman massaging my boyfriend kept burping, not holding back. Everyone was so loud and people kept walking in and out of the massage room. My husband and I decided to have date night at this massage place today. I got what I expected. They were very gentle with me and massaged me for a full hour. I loved the fact that I could soak my feet while getting a massage. I am pregnant so I noticed they were very gentle with me which is good but I can't wait to go back to get the real deal. I can't believe people complain about the $10 tip when they do a great job and it's only $20 regularly. Compared to other massage parlors you are only paying pennies. Suck it up pay the money or go on groupon and pay $60+ for a massage. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the language barrier and the fact that they don't just write out $30 on the white board. It should say, "$30 a massage plus optional tip." Then people's panties wouldn't be in a bunch. I'm going back for sure! read more

Always like to try this kind of foot massage wherever I am. Experienced the chinese foot massge my first time in China in 2005. I have visited them before several times and thought they were OK for the price (not great), however I am downgrading them to a two star. Today I went back after several years and was shocked when the guy demanded a 50% tip afterwards. I think they should make it clear that there is a mandatory $10 tip on a $20 massage. I visited them in the past for foot reflexology however they don't do very much foot reflexology at all. I had asked them to focus more on the foot reflexology, but they do the exact same massage no matter what you ask. It is a practiced massage that I believe they all learn because they all do exactly the same massage. In the past, I used to tip them five dollars which is 25% and adequate in my mind for the type of service they provide. If someone really wants cheap and doesn't really care that it's the same "cookie cutter" massage every time, then this will probably work for them, however I feel that the spa should let customers know that there is a mandatory $10 tip otherwise it is false advertising. read more
