If you're looking for high-quality massage work in the Austin area, I highly recommend Melody at…read moreZen Deep Massage. I first had the pleasure of receiving work from Melody 10 years ago. I had looked around Austin to find the right therapist for me and she checked all the boxes. She is very knowledgeable about anatomy, is really intuitive with her touch and her abilities to find my problem areas and unravel them, her pressure is spot on, and she does amazing assisted stretching which really helps with both my flexibility and my recovery from exercise. She was my go to therapist for about seven years, even though her location required about a 45 minute drive each way from where I was living in Pflugerville. I typically saw her twice a month, and the experience was well worth the drive. A few years ago, a couple of family and work changes made it nearly impossible to make the drive down to her studio. I'm happy to say that that has changed now and I'm able to get back to see her on a regular basis. I had an amazing session with her today and she was able to resolve some lingering issues in my hips and lower back and I felt great after leaving her studio. I'm turning 70 shortly, and after decades as an Army Paratrooper, working out, and now as a cyclist and distance runner, I need more than rest and the stretching, warm ups and cool downs I can do to keep my body moving. Melody's bodywork is integral to maintaining my active, healthy lifestyle.

After getting on the massage table, I realized that there was nothing to cover with, only a fitted sheet stretched over the table itself. The room was dimly lit so I didn't mind as much and I just assumed Maisie would bring a sheet or towel when she came in. It turned out that we did the 1 hour massage undraped but since the room was pretty dark it was ok. Maisie is a very skilled and talented therapist and understands the human body quite well. She was very nice and offered me a cold bottle of water to take with me. I still give her a good review although I found the room darkness to be unusual. Nice bodywork Maisie! Look forward to seeing you again!

I can't say that you'll find yourself asleep during one of these sessions, but I can say that she has an intuitive touch that will discover every knot that needs working out (whether you know it's there or not). I've also noticed that I get the best results if I can see her fairly regularly, so she can build on previous sessions and really put in good work. I'd recommend her if you really want a true massage that works on problem areas with a focus on long term relief or if you're looking for a sports massage too! She's the best!

I made an appnt to have my 3rd massage with Grace and I had to cancel 4 hours before. There is a no refund cancelation policy, but, Grace was good enough to waive that for me. So when I went to reschedule, she wasn't the most responsive and put me off a bit. We then landed on a time and date, but SHE had to reschedule due to her infant child care situation. We then rescheduled again, and again, she couldn't get me in due to the infant care situation. I then asked for a refund for the 2 prepaid session I bought..that's when she turned on me. She sent me a text saying she would not refund me and that I am no longer wanted as a client. Pretty weird response and very unprofessional. There's plenty of other things I could list about my experiences with her, but I'll keep those to myself for now.
