Buyer(User) Beware. This location is the perhaps the corrupt experience I have ever seen. My mother (who is a senior) used this location for years. There were a number of issues along the way which required my intervention. Finally it was enough. We went up together and my Mom canceled her subscription (that model alone should make you RUN out of there). Done, enough, thank goodness. When we tried to schedule a couple of appointments to use up remaining credits I was told all her regular therapists had left due to the new ownership. Apparently this new ownership later 'lost/you name it' records resulting in them continuing to charge my mother the monthly fee. We went by the location to complain/'re-cancel'. The continued to charge. I called the location repeatedly. It was a nightmare. These people are CROOKS. My Mom loves her new spot not so far away. No subscriptions. No way to get cheated. I've been going here for awhile, not sure why I didn't give a review sooner. The staff has always been friendly and, while they are usually busy and booked, I try to plan my self care far enough out to ensure I get a spot when I need one. Another location, maybe among all the growth on South Loop, might help with this, but I can understand holding off expansions while the economy and health guidelines are still in flux. Kara has been my go to for my last several sessions. She is friendly and always seems to find the knots in the areas I ask for her to focus. For instance, I just spent about a week in Disney and my calves, feet, and shoulder needed attention. I asked for deep tissue and boy did I get it. I cannot remember ever feeling both more relaxed and beat up at the same time. Most negative reviews I have seen are about the chain have had to do with the billing etc. While I have never had any trouble with this, I have seen the staff here handle upset patrons in a calm and professional way. read more

I am a teacher and was in need of a well deserved massage this Christmas break! I called and they had an opening, so I decided to try it out! The receptionist was super friendly and helpful! This was my first time, so I had to give some information over the phone with them. When I walked in, I loved the atmosphere. Very calming. I was taken to a side room to give more information about myself. Samantha was my girl!!! She targeted all my problem areas which include my lower back and my shoulders. She could tell I have a lot of nots on my shoulders. She was so kind and so professional!!! I signed up to be a member because of her. I left feeling so relaxed and for sure got my money's worth!!! Today my massage only cost me $45 due to becoming a member! That is money well spent in my book!!! Can't wait to come back in 4 short weeks for another massage!! Thank y'all!! I've had a membership here for the last 14 months. Sometimes I feel that some massage therapists are categorized as 'deep tissue' when they aren't deep tissue but for the most part I've been pleased with my experience & it's improved my daily quality of life! When my fiancé signed me up for the first year membership, he received a coupon book as well. I thought we should have still been able to receive that for the second year we signed up because we are loyal customers. Love love love this location, I was in town for a convention and was able to visit this Teas Crossing. The look and feel of this location is very traditional and warm compared to some of the newer concept designs. This location is not old by any means, you can tell the owners take price in this location as it was very clean and nicely decorated. Again I used the Massage Envy app to look up the closest a locations to my hotel and was able to call and get directions easily. Once I entered I was immediately greeted and after my consultation taken on a tour. I love being a member where I can visit different locations across the United States and see the different looks and feel to the designs. This is definitely one of my favorites. I feel bad for the other people who left negative reviews and cannot read and understand a simple contract/agreement. I have had no issues with mine and any time I ask for clarification the staff is always willing to help. read more

Buyer BEWARE. Do NOT sign up for a contract!! I signed up and paid for a full year. After about 6 months I was not able to schedule any massages. They are always booked for weeks or months out. I tried to cancel AFTER my year was up but was told I had to come in to do so, even though my year was up. They kept trying to bill me on an old credit card and I refused to pay for additional months when I was still owed 6 months worth of massages. Here is the catch. If you cancel you lose any unused massages. You can't cancel until your year is up. Once your year is up they keep billing you. If you try to cancel you have to pay any unbilled or past due months BEFORE they will let you cancel. So if you can't pay or refuse to pay they won't let you cancel and still bill you. After 90 days they will stop billing you but they will send your unpaid balance to a collection agency. Also note, there is a CLASS ACTION lawsuit against the entire company. That's speaks volumes about unhappy customers. I would AVOID this location simply because the owner is an Ahole jerk but I would avoid all the other locations because it's a ripoff. read more

The sales person rambled in about different specials and I was a bit overwhelmed! Manager senses my discomfort and comes out of the office to give me her business card and offers to help me personally book my wife and mom for services. Beverly gave me her card, booked the appointments and made me feel relaxed and valued! My mom loved her services and my wife will when she comes in I'm sure. RUN RUN RUN! Remember the glowing review I gave when I joined in 2014? Well, the massages were good, but the CONTRACT is TERRIBLE! I didn't read the fine print (my bad!) that said they don't STOP charging you after the one year is up. No, they want it IN WRITING that you are stopping the service. Until then, they keep charging... and when you write them, they still charge you for another 30 days! So, after our divorce (which coincided with the one year anniversary of the contract), they kept charging my ex-husband's card. He told them to stop because we aren't married anymore and to close the account. He wasn't allowed to close it because the account wasn't in his name. So, I wrote them the cancellation letter they wanted. Months go by and we assume it was cancelled last summer. My ex realizes that they STARTED CHARGING HIS CARD AGAIN and continued to monthly until he saw it on the statement. He went to the store and told them we closed the account last summer. They refused to cooperate. So, I went to the store personally this week and hand delivered the letter from last summer AND a 2nd letter telling them they should have cancelled the account. I asked them to sign that they received the letter this time. They refused to sign, but wanted me to go meet with the manager and sign a cancellation form. I refused, stating that the "cancellation form" was my two letters that I was delivering to them now (its all on video, too, because I figured they wouldn't sign that they received it either!) And, they are STILL sending harassing phone calls wanting a new credit card! UNBELIEVABLE!!! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP!!! I feel scammed and annoyed after my first visit here today. 7 weeks ago I received a gift card from my husband for a massage and facial. He was told the amount he paid covered the cost for both. When I checked out I had to pay an additional $30.00 (excluding tip). Front desk woman told me " it must have been a promotion" so you owe $30.00. She then aggressively tried to sell me a year membership. What is she thinking? Am I really going to consider a year contract when they couldn't keep their story straight after only 7 weeks? Then she had a lot of trouble with math when I paid. I used the calculator on my phone to show her the correct amounts. Additionally, upselling like crazy before and after (by same woman) for various things. For example, she asked what aroma therapy fragrance I wanted but didn't mention the $10.00 extra charge until I asked. The massage and facial were great and very professionally done. I signed a contract a year ago(BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE) and asked them to cancel my contract after paying them for a year and NEVER using the services they insisted I still owed them for one more month because I did not cancel in time - they sent email, mail, vmails over the next 3 months and I refused to pay. Yesterday they ceased the opportunity to charge my bank account for $195(3months). When I called and spoke with Gabriella, she claims to have authority to refund, but refused to refund for any circumstance including the fact that I had borrowed that money to pay my light bill for the month. They have some seriously shady business practices! I was given a $100 gift card as a gift. I tried making an appointment and was told they would not hold an appointment unless I gave them a credit card number to have on file. I told them that I was unwilling to do that, I had a gift card and they could use that number. They said theybwould have to physically have the card in hand in order to do that. I stopped by their offices and was in the process of making my appointment when they asked for my credit card information again. I told them I wouldn't give them that, to which they said they had to have hat to hold the appointment. I told her about my gift card, she went and got the manager. Then came back and said she would hold my gift card. I asked for something saying I had left my gift card. The manager came out and said they didnt have that and they were already making an exception by not having a credit card on file. I said there was no reason they needed my credit card. She reiterated again that they did not have anything to give me. I said so you're expecting me to just trust you. The manager just smiled. Synopsis of last experience: 1) schedule appointment one month in advance to actually get the person you want 2) wait for said therapist in "relaxation" room 3) said therapist calls somebody else back 4) while you are trying to sort things out at front desk, the therapist they mistakenly scheduled you with takes somebody else back 5) they give you a third therapist who talks non-stop through out entire massage (highly inappropriate topics) 6) try to cancel membership because this is not the only time you have had a bad experience here and get the "hard-sell" for 15 minutes 7) now one month later, membership is STILL not cancelled due to another clerical error... Do yourself a favor, don't get into a contract, find yourself a real therapist who actually works for themself and gives a crap about you. I'll even give you a tried-and-true suggestion: Lordex Spine Institute next door! Friendly staff, no contract, no hard sell, no clerical errors. Horrible management! I scheduled a 2 hour massage about a month and a half in advance. Like most people, I was really looking forward to this appt. I rearranged my personal schedule and found a babysitter (who I paid in advance b/c she had to clear her schedule on a Sunday morning to watch my children). After arriving on time, I waited 15 min into my session before someone came to tell me that the massage therapist hasn't shown up and they don't know where she is and can't get a hold of her. Ok, not a big deal, things happen. I was told that someone would call me after they spoke with the manager about possibly upgrading my next session or crediting me a 2 hour massage. Well, almost 2 days go by, no call from anyone. I called the store and after a few hours, the main manager called me back stating she would credit me a ONE hour massage. Um, last time I checked, I scheduled a 2 hour massage, so why would a one hour massage credit be accepted? Conversation didn't go well needless to say and I will be cancelling my membership and taking my business elsewhere. Kind of sad it comes to this after all the referrals I've sent there, money spent, gift cards bought.... very disappointed. read more

After having a facial I had a reaction, partly because the esthetician used gloves during the process. I've never had gloves used on me while having a facial. The reaction got so bad I had to seek medical attention. When I asked Massage Envy for the MSDS information, I was told I could pick it up at the salon. When I arrived, I was approached by the owner of the salon, first inside the salon, and then outside videotaping me, taunting me, waving the MSDS information over his head, laughing at me, following me to my vehicle, all in a public parking lot. I was told he did that because he had the RIGHT to pictures. The owners of this salon are not nice people at all and mostly likely will display this kind of action again, if they haven't already. I'm believing not all Massage Envy salons display this kind of action. I hope not at least. I asked for a full refund and was offered $40.00. The facial, plus doctor's visit and 3 medications later, I was out of pocket $291.00, for which I've asked for a refund and been ignored. read more
