I was very disappointed with my recent experience at this Ulta salon. I came in expecting the level of expertise and results I have consistently received at other Ulta locations, but unfortunately, this appointment in Conroe fell well below that standard. The stylist Zoey toned my hair to a very noticeable orange and brassy tone. Her lack of technical skill and experience has resulted in having to seek additional services elsewhere to fix the issue without being issued a refund. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that the salon can address training and quality control, as I have had excellent experiences at other Ulta salons and believe this location has the potential to improve. Scheduled a hair appointment at 4:30 to have the Stylist call and leave me a voicemail asking me to come in 15-20 minutes later because she had a client before me that was going to run over. So I planned on arriving at 4:45 per the stylist's request and on my way into this appointment I get a phone call at 4:20 asking me to arrive on time now because the stylist now needs to pick up her child. I asked if I could still arrive at 4:45 because that was the original game plan, I even offered to reschedule, but was told that was fine come on in, 4:45 is still ok. Needless to say, I arrived at 4:40 and was asked if I would be willing to work with another stylist instead. I made an appointment with a specific stylist for a reason, and I feel this was handled so poorly and it felt like I was jumping through hoops for a freaking haircut! I really wished they would have just allowed me to reschedule instead of all of this.. It's frustrating and unprofessional. 35 minutes there and back wasted. I love Ulta! I spent some time in here with a friend who was getting foundation done by a stylist. I never spend that much time in here so I really had a chance to fall in love with their selection! I found an AMAZING brow pencil here- universal blonde brow. Waterproof and totally matched my eyebrows perfectly. I also love their perfumes- located in middle of store and able to sample easily. They have so many high end makeup lines and you can sample almost everything! I also got a face wash a while back by Gwenyth Paltrow called Juicy. Probably spelled that wrong - but this line has a serum which is amazing! Check it out. Great place for gifts, or self care. I heart Ulta! read more

The girls who work in the salon are super friendly and welcoming. I'm not the most "girly" and these days all the younger women have so much fancy YouTube and Instagram inspired makeup on and cool hair colors and styles and, honestly, it's exhausting even looking at them. I have a short pixie cut and I still do my make up like it's 1999. Minutes the glitter and the over plucked eyebrows. Jordyn is so awesome, and she will talk to you like you are old friends. I asked her last minute to color my hair too and she helped me pick a very hip color without making me look like I'm trying to appear way younger than I am. She also did an amazing and thorough job of cutting my 8 year old's bangs and she didn't do it In a way that made her feel like an afterthought. I like that they discuss prices with you right away and there are no surprises. My color turned out great and I have had SO many compliments on my hair since I left her chair! I like that I can also shop for any beauty supplies I might need while I'm there too....as a mom, getting multiple things done at once is always a plus. read more

I made an appointment to get my brows done here with 48 hours of advance warning. Upon arrival I was informed that Benefit Brow bar where they usually handle brows was unstaffed so I was sent to the hair salon. I had to wait for the one hair stylist who was also a trained esthetician to finish her appointment. Besides the having to wait the overall experience was subpar and I wouldn't recommend going here to waist your time just to get okay brows. read more

For some reason he thought it was ok to have the dryer heat so high that when he was drying my hair I started noticing he was burning my hair! I have been looking for a new stylist to cut my hair ever since mine moved to New Mexico last year. I originally booked with Alyssa, but the appointment was canceled due to her being sick. I went ahead and rebooked with Shukeria Colbert, hoping maybe she could be my new stylist. I rushed over to the Ulta in Conroe to see Shukeria and explained I wanted a cut. I showed her a picture of the cut/look I was wanting and she agreed to it. It was supposed to be lots of layers, long and with side bangs. She asked if I wanted my hair short, and I said I was not committed to short hair. I thought that meant let's keep it long. I WAS SO WRONG. She took me back to shampoo and gave me a quick wash. Then I was in her chair and she took my hair from mid back to just at my shoulders. I was so mad, but decided to just go with it. I don't like conflict and I didn't want to make a scene. At that point, I was forced to go short, so I might as well find a way to enjoy it. By the time she finished BUTCHERING my hair, it was pretty late in the evening. She never showed me the back and it looked weird in the front, but I thought it was just the way it was styled. I paid the $45 plus tip and left. Once I got home, I realized how bad it really was. The front left was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter than the right, and it was disconnected from the rest of my hair. I was furious at this point. I contacted Ulta and they promised to make it right Nobody will return my calls. I then proceeded to book an appointment for last Saturday with Rania at the Baybrook Ulta in Webster. I got up on my only day off and drove for an hour. Rania took me in, and I explained the situation. She was shocked when she saw how bad the cut was. She even said the layers in front were disconnected and the back was very crooked. Rania proceeded to wash, cut/fix, blow dry and style my hair. By the time I left Rania's chair, I was finally fixed, just with very short hair instead of my long hair like I wanted originally. The second cut cost me $65 plus tip. Total, I am out $137 plus time and driving and gas just for a simple cut. I 100%do not recommend Shukeria at the Ulta in Conroe, nor do I recommend the Conroe Ulta. That store and staff doesn't care about their customers at all. I will be driving an hour 1 way to get my hair cut from now on, because apparently, Ulta will hire anyone to just butcher hair. I'm upset with the Conroe store and Corporate. Ulta doesn't care, as long as they get their money. What a greedy way to treat customers and clients. No stars, Ulta. read more

Stay away from Ulta salon!!!! Ulta to stick to selling makeup only!!!! I requested a hair appointment online which gives you the option for what level of expertise hair stylist you would like. I picked expert level. The highest level you can get thinking I will get great hair service. The online price was $120 for a perm . I also expected I would need to buy a product from my hair once it was permed.. I was expecting to spend around $200 . When I got to the salon I was informed that it would be $160 for the permanent alone (bait and switch) And I would also need a haircut. I did not want a haircut because I'm trying to let my hair grow. The expert informed me that in order to get the permanent to stick I would need a haircut so I agreed to a trim. After about two hours of getting my hair put in curls and having chemicals applied to it. I had my hair washed out and when it was wet it looks good I was happy. I was upset with the total price being around $300 when it was all over with. But what can you do at that point? Regardless I left the store happy with my wet curly hair. About an hour later I noticed my hair had dried straight! Immediately I went back to the store to inform the expert that the permanent did not take . my hair is now dry, brittle and frizzy!!!!!! Not to mention shorter because of the haircut that I DID NOT WANT!!! I was informed that it was because of my hair the perm did not take. I would accept that answer except for the fact that when we started the whole process she said she would be able to do it and even charged me MORE $$$$ . When I asked for a refund I was told I would be get a refund for the permanent . I still needed to pay for the haircut. My hair was ruined by the Ulta and now I'm to to pay for it ? It's been 3 days now and I'm still waiting on my refund. my biggest regret about going to Ulta to get my hair done is that my hair is damaged and there is no way to fix it except for to let it grow out. Background: I am a true new mom, in all forms. Frazzled hair, no make-up, barely dressed in matching attire, maybe some sort of formula/bodily fluid stain on my shirt. And this is just on a Wednesday. My daughter came almost a month early, so the whole "you'll be a week or two late and ready to bust, because this is your first child" thing never happened. Apparently, as my doc and family say, I'm a rarity. :| I made an appointment for Rosalie for 6:30. She had a client she was finishing up on. No rush on my part, so I let her finish. Got seated around 6:50 for my appointment and here were the fun begins. Hairs in a bun. Me: I'm sorry, I worked out earlier and this is my go-to do at this point. I have 'broom hair'. Rosalie: huh? Me: Broom hair - my hair looks like the ends of a broom. We all laughed. I explained that my daughter came early enough to where all my new mommy pampering I scheduled for myself 3 weeks before her due date was thrown out the window with her coming a month early. I think I even spotted some paint in my hair from where my husband and I painted her room the weekend before. About my hair: Long, like below my waist, wavy/curly and thick. So, it's not something for the faint of heart to try and 'trim' up. Rosalie gave some tips on easy do's and what she had planned for the haircut. She got me washed in the back and we were joined by another stylist. She is pregnant and going to have her baby in the next few months, so she joined in on the convo about the new mom look I had going on. Sat down and oh no! My hair was uneven from the last horrid haircut I received. Yeah, I won't mention where, but shame on me for trying to go there just to get a 'trim'. Ended up cutting off about 2.5" from the back, but well worth it. Rosalie is a diamond in the ruff. She has a personality. Talks about lots of random things and has a true (or at least she has me fooled) concern for people. Very genuine and sweet. We were done in about an hour and half. Best haircut I have ever received from the high end to the bottom dwellers. This was by far, without the bells and whistles, one of my best cuts. Lots of compliments. This review is specifically written for Misti, stylist in the Ulta Salon at the Conroe location. I (desperately) needed a last-minute haircut and booked on a Sunday evening with Misti for Monday at 6 p.m. (LOVE the late appointment slots). I walked in at 5:50 on Monday and was a bit disappointed to find out that Misti had been double-booked. I waited for 40 minutes and saw that Misti's client walked away with a very cute, well executed cut. Needless to say, Misti was worth the wait. She was friendly, carried on great conversation, and did my hair more than justice. She took her time and carefully stacked and textured my hair. I am VERY picky about the way my hair is stacked and have only walked away happy with the initial cut a few times in my life (though I generally am happy after a week of growth). Misti hit the nail on the head and I left the salon feeling like I had received one of the best cuts of my life. Hands down, Misti will get my business again and I will recommend everyone to her for her services. read more

I go to school in San Marcos, I visit The Woodlands frequently and my parents live here in Conroe. I have been to the Ulta in each of those towns and this location is by far the most impressive. The Woodlands location always seems to be out of my favorite beauty products when I go. The staff actually seems to know what they are talking about and are extremely quick to help me with anything I need! The only reason Ulta (as a whole) doesn't get 5 stars from me is because they do not carry MAC! If only they carried it, I wouldn't have to hike through Nordstrom. read more

I rounded up from a 3 1/2 stars to a 4 simply because my stylist was very personable and confident and friendly and I generally enjoyed my time, even if it wasn't the most fantastic haircut I had ever received in my life. (It certainly wasn't the worst though!) I came in for just a simple wash, cut and dry done by same because my split ends were looking pathetic. It was very spur of the moment, as I originally only planned to come to Ulta for a few makeup items. Sam the stylist was very sweet and did a great job listening to my needs, however I do think she lacked to technical skill to do what I was asking. This is partially my fault as I wanted a very odd sort of vintage cut that she had likely never practiced. I am very confident that she would be very successful at the more trendy, popular cuts you see today. I wanted very sharp, rounded bangs like Bettie Paige. Unfortunately, the ones she gave me we a bit uneven and required me to trim them up immediately after I got home. If you're looking for something a little more "artistic" I don't think the stylists at this salon are your best option, but plain trims and cuts are a good! read more

I absolutely love Arrine Krul. I am European and I have tried so many hair stylists around here, anywhere from the fancy ones at the mall to local hair salons. This lady is my hair goddess. She understands exactly what you need, she's a master of color and cut and volume. I went blonde in 2 sessions with her and my hair is smooth and silky and finally started growing. I will never ever go elsewhere for my hair needs. Thank you Ulta for all your friendly people and thank you Arinne for your amazing goddess like hands and the effort you put in your job. Shukeria was 100/10 amazing! I came in only needing a slight trim to get my hair a little healthier but Shukeria knew I needed more! She kindly suggested a gloss as well to even-out the color i already had, and also prioritized the health and integrity of my hair while listening to what it was i wanted. Shukeria really knew her stuff, she educated me on proper hair care to get my hair healthier and really cared about what I needed and how I felt. Throughout this appointment, Shukeria made me super comfortable, she was bubbly and took interest in me and my life. I really loved it and needed it! The whole appointment she hyped me up and made me feel so good about myself. Shukeria had absolutely no idea that I have been dealing with severe daily depression and anxiety for the past year and she made this 2 hour hair appointment the best 2 hours I've had in such a long time! She didn't even have to. She went 100% above and beyond! I felt so happy and beautiful when leaving, that I wanted to cry when I got in the car! Watching her also interact with her co-workers/stylists I saw that she was so kind and encouraging to them as well as myself, her client. I was so nervous going in, and felt so confident going out! Came here for the first time about a week ago. I had just moved here recently and am so particular about my color. I like to change it with the trends but I also try so hard to keep it long and healthy. I had an extremely hard time finding someone that specializes in color, but I was shopping around in the Ulta in Conroe and I saw one of Samantha's color clients leaving and had to talk to her! She was so friendly, and busy.. which I see as a good thing. But she still talked to me a little about what I was trying to do with my hair and gave me her card explaining that she was Redken color certified!! all I can say is I have found my new girl. I got exactly what I wanted, and she was so friendly and down to earth. She's a higher level stylist here so I know the prices differ, but I for sure feel I got what I paid for. I walked in today to buy some products for gift baskets for my employees at my store. I knew exactly what I needed. I walked around and got some items that I needed but could not find the gift set I wanted. I walked around for 10 minutes looking for someone to help me and not one person approached me and asked me if I needed help. I finally saw someone who didn't appear to be busy but when I walked up to her she was on her phone texting and she then proceeded to ignore me to finish her text message. I stood there for a solid 3 minutes waiting before i finally walked away to walk up to a group of associates who were having a conversation and they also ignored me until I interrupted their conversation. When I asked the lady about my gift set she then proceeded to get the attention of the girl I originally tried to ask (who was still texting) and she was like no we sold out and then followed it up with "you should have gotten here sooner". I was absolutely so livid I left my basket full of items I wanted and left. I will no longer shop at this location. Absolutely unacceptable. I've always seen Ulta and Sephora and wondered which was better. Many people have different opinions but I'm going to share mine. I truly love ulta because of the customer service that I've experienced my first trip there. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There was a sale going on for the china glaze nail polish, but it ended. I didn't know that it did, so I grabbed quite a bit of the nail polish bottles. Once I went to purchase them, the cashier told me that the sale was over, however, she'd honor it for me. I truly was appreciative. Ulta is amazing and I love their products. read more

Holy cow! Sam (samantha) is the bomb! She did so great. I went here while visiting from a few hours away... needed a cut.. Just layers and few inches off, but I'm SUPER picky. Anyway Samantha hit the ball out the park with my hair! I loved it. It was just how I liked it. So then fast forward about a year I ended up moving here and went into Ulta to book an appointment with Sam but she wasn't in that day so I stupidly got impatient and went somewhere else..And let me tell you...The lady at the random other place chopped off about a foot of my hair and did a major hack job. (It was super long) Anyway, I went home crying and booked an appointment with Samantha the next day and OMG I don't know how but she fixed it and it looks so amazing and still how I love it. She did an amazing job and I left so happy and gorgeous. Thank u Sam! I'd recommend her a million times! She's worth every cent. She even travels out of state to update her knowledge and skills and take tests for her ability. And it really shows. She's the best. Point blank.
