DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY TO BE STOLEN!!!!! I booked a 90-minute massage here, but in reality, it was only about 75 minutes of actual service. I entered the room about five minutes after the scheduled start time (to undress and have a short consultation) and the massage still ended a full ten minutes before it was supposed to. That's not even close to 90 minutes. When I brought this up to the masseuse, she said she was following the spa's iPad schedule. Later, when I asked management, they explained that a "90-minute massage" is supposed to include about 10 minutes of non-massage time, meaning customers only ever get 80 minutes of actual massage. But even by their own definition, my session was shorter than that. On top of the misleading timing, the massage itself was mediocre at best -- rushed, uneven, and not very relaxing. This feels like a systematic practice to shortchange customers: advertise 90 minutes, deliver much less, and then justify it with fine print. There are plenty of spas that are honest about the time you're paying for and deliver a better experience. I would not recommend this one. read more

I had a membership for years! Eventually everyone I used here left. The last person was Mia! I rarely used my last year membership & I found out my massage therapist was leaving. I was greatly rude by the manager & told I had to sign a contract to stop my membership. I did this and yet they continued to charge me monthly fees. I ended up canceling my credit card so they couldn't charge me & they threaten me with phone calls. I don't know who owns this location but my people all left under this managers watch and so I did too! I owned several businesses over the last years and it doesn't make sense that the owner has let this management scare off clinicians and then customers! read more

I have been a member here since right after it opened and a loyal customer, including referring others to Massage Envy. I have been very happy with the massage therapy services I have received, however, I am deeply disappointed and rather disgusted by the customer service. I was recently very embarrassed to find out that they had sent a text message to the main phone number of my company. This was certainly never a number I gave to receive phone calls, no matter text messages. Completely inappropriate and unacceptable. When I called to express my concern about this, the person who answered the phone was barely interested. When I asked to speak with a manager she said there was none available at the time but that the manager would call me back. A week later that has yet to happen. read more

If you really want a good massage, go to the Livingston Mall by the old Sears and there is an Oriental Massage place that gives AWESOME massages. Price is $60 for 1 hour. Pay cash and it will be cheaper than credit card payment. Really great & they put a lot of effort into making your massage wonderful. Have been a member 10+ years and this location has gone seriously downhill. Within 1 month there were 2 price increases (end of 2021). Front desk does not provide customer service - they are strictly transaction reps. There are a handful of reps that are decent, but they are not trained or empowered to provide *any* customer service. The manager has to handle anything beyond paying for a session - and his calls are screened and he does not return calls. *Extremely* frustrating to deal with. Use with a lot of caution. read more

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES; Florham Park, NJ The front desk staff is terrible. They screen calls for the manager or owner, who NEVER gets back with you, despite multiple calls. Locked my family member into a contract who is terminally ill and could no longer use the service. 25 credits later, they will still not cancel, without her losing all of her credits and thousands of dollars $$$$$ spent. Finally, after many calls, and MUCH frustration, go the membership transferred. BUT, there are still charges for keeping the membership open to use up the 25 credits. ONCE you get into the contract and give them your CC, you will be charged over and over, double charged and charged after the membership is transferred. I've been a member for YEARS and the quality of the therapists have continued to degenerate. I've had surgery on both my neck and lower back and had a singular therapists for more than a year who was excellent. However, they don't seem to hold on to the good ones at all. Today, I was told that the therapist was medium to firm pressure. There was NO pressure; it was clear the therapist knew nothing of the musculoskeletal system. Rather, I was slathered with more and more and more lotion which was lightly rubbed into my skin. It was not a massage. Therapist did not know how to have a person turn from front to back either. Today I had a microderm infusion facial with Chloe. I knew the cost for the facial was $220 but I decided to pamper myself after a stressful week. I was shocked that within 20 minutes she ended the facial and said she was done. How is this possible? Do the math! I paid $11.00 per minute!!!!! This is outrageous!! There are multiple bad experiences that I had here but the most recent & what will be the last was so disrespectful I had to post a review here to warn others. A manager named Michael treated me horribly after I rightfully complained of only receiving 35 out of a 50 minute massage. Instead of an apology & compensation he refused to help me & instead insulted me. The therapists are generally unskilled. It's very difficult to get a quality massage. Today was my first visit to a Massage Envy thanks to a gift from my husband. Reading previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive about the level of service I would receive, but the minute I walked in, I was greeted by two of the friendliest people! I wish I caught their names, but they were kind, attentive, and personable. I had two services today - a massage and facial. Both were fantastic. Pamela, my massage therapist, was so sweet and very intent on helping me relax. I didn't want to leave when our session was over! Fortunately, I had a facial after with Chloe. She is truly talented and made sure I was comfortable with the products she was using. My face felt clean and refreshed when she was done. After an intense tennis sessions and severe back pain I was looking for an athletic massage with deep pressure. I'm so happy that I visited this Massage Envy at Florham Park, the front desk was so courtesies and help through the onboarding process. My massage therapist Charles was great and he made sure that pain areas are taken care and his extraordinary massage help to reduce muscle pain. Also, massage session was relaxing with extra ordinary care. I recommend this massage center. read more

The manager Mike, is AWFUL. He is rude, obnoxious, bossy and does not truly listen to what he customer is saying. Instead he keeps talking over the customer. Their machines stopped processing the HSA card I gave them. I called multiple times asking them to let me know why. No one got back to me. Finally I called my HSA card customer service and was told the problem lies with the MCC reader at the massage envy locations machines. It counded very technical so I called Mike to try and explain and have a 3 way call with the card customer agent hoping we could all align faster on a solution instad of having separate conversations and wasting time. Mike started yellling saying he is busy and cannot talk now and then hung up on me. He is not solution oriented. He just wants to keep proving ( by talking loudly and forcefully) that he is correct and knows it all. This is not the first time he has talked to me rudely. He just has a terrible attitude in general. Owners of ME- please train your office managers to listen to customers and understand where they are coming from and not to talk over them. I very seldom write reviews, but I couldn't pass it this time! This specific location and chain is a complete fraud at all levels. If I could put 0 start or negative, I would do it! Horrible management, specifically Mike, who is absolutely unprofessional with the way he responds to customers and will take advantage of you to overcharge when you don't expect. I had a membership for over 10years and after consistent mess ups with my appointments and luck of proper communication, I decided to cancel it. I had 6 sessions left accumulated over 2years of Covid and not enough masseuses available over weekends. By their cancel contract, I had to use them within 60days. For the last 90min session, I got sick with Covid and called to reschedule. Reception rescheduled to a later day in few weeks, considering requested quarantine and my bad symptoms, etc. No issue as I thought. When I came to that session, after I had massage and asked to charge a tip to my CC, they told me it is not available anymore as I cancelled my account. I gave my credit card and mentioned that they charged $244!!! When I asked what is this, I was told my sessions are expired as it's been over 60days and therefor was charged for non-member rate. I told them that first of all , nobody warned me about it , that I had Covid and I want to speak to the manager. They told me he is not available and will call me back to work it out. To make a long story short, after few days trying to hunt him down, I was able to reach him. He told me there is nothing can be done and there is no more Covid!!! I was I shocked!!! I asked him again to make sure l heard him correct "are you saying, I should of come to the session knowing that I have Covid?" He said "Yes". When I told him it is illegal in NJ and percussions are not lifted yet, he gave me attitude like I am talking nonsense. When I asked him to connect me to the higher manager or the owner of the location, he refused to provide the info. it is a Franchise, so Massage Envy corporate office will do nothing!!! Through going around internet I found District Sales manager who is overseeing this location, but same untruthful responds just trying to dismiss your complain. I am still fighting the charge as don't like when people are taking advantage of me, thinking that i will give up easy. Not my case. However, warning to everybody ... do not go to the place that doesn't even following state regulations and law, who neglect their customers wellbeing and refuse to honor your business!!! Now I see why there is a revolving door with the staff as apparently they also treated same dishonest way. I repeat again FRAUD is written all over this place!!! I had to cancel my appointment because my child tested positive for Covid and I was told I would be charged for the visit anyway. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no one was in or available. I cannot believe having a membership to a company like this during the times we are in and being treated like this is ok. I've had a Massage Envy membership for years. I am a serial last-minute booker. When I'm craving a massage, I'll call multiple nearby locations and just take whoever is soonest available. (I have obviously had some PRETTY mixed results.) I bounced around all of the ones near Boston when we lived there. When we moved to Morristown, I tried all of the ones I could find within 10-20 miles. From the get-go, this Florham Park one stood out. It is one of the cleanest and friendliest locations I have experienced. I happened to get assigned to a masseuse named Charles. He was awesome! He gives an absolutely perfect relaxation massage. (It turns out he has 20+ years experience.) I now actually call a few days ahead to book him! I highly recommend him and this location. read more

I explained why I was running behind for my massage appt (medical reason)!and she literally had no care in the world. if you are thinking of joining Massage Envy Florham Park, don't do it. You will be stuck in a 12 month commitment of HELL. No regards to personal financial situations and the desk staff is incredibly judgmental and unreasonable (very unprofessional!)! this is an understatement. Thankfully I was granted a cancellation request but had to stick up for myself and my individual rights. I've had a Massage Envy membership for a few years and I absolutely love it. The cost per month gets you 1 massage per month. If you don't use your massages, they carry over so you don't lose them. If you don't have any unused massages, you can purchase one at a really discounted member-rate. They have multiple licensed massage therapists. They represent different types of massages and different pressure levels. The front desk staff is great at matching you with a therapist based on your preferences. They also offer facials using Murad products. I'm not a huge fan of Murad, but the facial was really relaxing. read more

I came into ME for a facial and it would be my first facial at this location. I was going to hold off on generating this review for a few days but I just wanted to share the experience because the after effects have been bothersome. I checked in and was told to sit down....nothing new, right? Seems simple enough. I was called in by someone who was clearly hauling ass to finish the previous client and start the next. She looked rushed and I saw that she was a little flustered. We sat down and she asked if I completed an intake form. Nope. So she did the intake in the room. Keep in mind I was called in almost 10-15 minutes after my scheduled time. By the time we started, it was roughly 30 mins past the hour. My face was cleansed twice and it was fine....until the hot towel was wrapped around me face then rubbed into my face to remove the cleanser. Rubbed and wiped away cleanser like I was a dirty child whose face was being wiped clean. Too rough. The steam was running on the face during this. Extractions followed and she focused on my nose, which can be pretty bad with clogs. I can usually take a certain level of pain with extractions but this felt excruciating. At times both nostrils were pressed so I had to breathe thru my nose. I even went so far as to ask if a needle of some sort was being used. I was assured no and then extractions were stopped. Something with Vit C was applied after she asked me if I'm sensitive to it. I've had facials before with Vit C and have always been fine. I've had facials at various ME locations. Some was also applied perhaps accidentally to my eyelids and that was NOT cool. My eyelids were hot and after a few minutes my cheeks were on fire. The product was wiped off and again like a dirty child and with a rough towel on cheeks that were red, hot and still on fire. A hydrating mask followed to cool my face down and the product burned on my cheeks. The person then used a piece of paper to fan my face to cool it down...followed by second layer of the hydrating mask. An eye product was applied but definitely not in a gentle tapping manner....it was quite heavy handed...poking almost. A day later my nose looks like I got socked and is blotchy and my cheeks where it burned with products are rough and now has red dots and is discolored. No extractions were done there btw. The only reason I'm giving 3stars is the person was pleasant in mannerisms and asked questions and the arm/hand massage was ok. I have been a ME client since 2012 and altho I've had a few sub par services over the years, I never felt the need to enter a review. I will probably a stick to the ME closer to me and will not be entertaining getting a facial at this location...not at the risk of a slight chemical burn on my face. UPDATE: 6/5/18 After a few emails, Stefanie (management or business owner?) spoke with me on the phone. She acknowledged the issue and wanted me to elaborate on the matter . Coincidentally, another customer had concerns regarding a facial performed by the same therapist. She let me know the therapist was sent back for additional training and that customer feedback is important to them. She's happy it was mentioned sooner rather than later so that they could address the matter quickly. I stated I would be willing to come back as it's a convenient location to me. I'm glad they are investing training in their therapists and appreciated the follow up on the matter. I really do hope she (therapist) does better moving forward. As I mentioned in the main review, she was quite pleasant in her mannerisms. read more

This is a great place, providing excellent massages (and now facials) at a good value. The staff is incredibly friendly and will work with you to find a masseuse who fits your needs. Booking is a breeze - they usually have times available for the next day, if not the night of the day you call, if you're not a person who plans in advance. Although they do sell products like candles and oils, I've *never* *ever* had anyone try to sell me anything, or upsell me time on a massage. The establishment itself is very clean and has a warm feel. The rooms are quiet (though you may very rarely hear voices outside, it's not distracting), and conducive to a relaxing experience. The massage tables are super comfortable. This is not a place to spend a day in a terry-cloth robe, get mani pedis, and a lettuce lunch, nor do they advertise as such. It's a place to spend a very relaxing hour or two recovering from your daily stress, or getting some therapy for sore muscles. I'm not going to tell you who my favorite masseuse is because she's already hard enough to get an appointment with! :) Rest assured, whoever you wind up with will provide an excellent massage. read more

For the value, the massages are great. I'm a huge participant of massages and I get 1.5 hours not just an hour. I'm a member and you pay $63.13 a month....that gives you your "free" one hour massage a month. Since I get the 1.5 hours massage I pay a little more but so worth the price! In the beginning, I have hit and misses on the therapists. I like deep tissue and the therapists really have to go deep on me, not that grazing soothing swedish type massage. My favorites are Zeke and Fiquaar. Both different in their techniques for deep tissue but soooo good! Please don't leave as I'm a huge fan of you guys. This location is part of a strip mall and is across from Trader Joe's, my favorite grocery store...convenient! read more

This is the worst location in terms of customer service and etiquette. I have asked the location to provide a formal complaint to the location owner for close to a year now. I have had to call multiple times to note to the employees that my account has been over charged twice. No employees has relayed my complaint to the manager of this location. The employees are a waste of energy and time. They are rude majority of the time when I call cannot tell me when the manager will be there to file the complaint in person. They also do not listen when I ask for a manager to call me. I do not understand how I still cannot receive an update from anyone but they are quick to call when a charge is missed due to a change in credit card. Please go to the Morris Plains location or Parsippany. The massage therapists are always 5-10 minutes late as well. That's helpful when you arrive for your appointment early or on time. I have been achy for weeks so I finally decided to do something for myself so I booked a massage at Massage Envy. The massage was decent but it was futile because when I was leaving and went to pay, the bill was $100 plus tax. Now I didn't argue about it because I was honestly just too tired from a long week as an RN. When I got home I started thinking about it and wondering why I could have sworn the massage was $60 which I definitely took into consideration before spending money on myself. I called Massage Envy and was told that if a client has had a massage there within the last six months, then the cost is $100. It is only if one has not had a massage in the last six months then the cost is $60. This pricing is quite misleading. I couldn't find on website the cost of a sixty minute massage. I'm sure it must be there but is so obscure that I feel I was duped into paying $100. I will not be going to Massage Envy. I'll try Hand & Stone when I can save enough money again read more

After no honest attempt was made to match me to another comparable therapist I asked to cancel my membership. If you NEED a monthly or bi-monthly massage, they offer a good deal. However, Massage Envy is not a "spa-like" place to come and unwind. They are always trying to sell you something, the staff is awkward, and most of the massage therapists don't really seem to care about anything. There's a couple good therapists, but they are usually booked. Every time I go in there the manager (Noreen?) is so perky and annoying, it doesn't seem natural. The rest of the staff seem to be miserable--probably because of the sales pressure they are forced to put upon others. Splurge and book at a local spa for a more relaxing, natural, and soothing environment where you will receive an individualized experience :) read more

This place is terrific! The staff is always helpful and courteous, and will spend extra time with you booking appointments, etc. Finding a good therapist can be trial and error, but I have found one that is great at what she does! Her hours are limited, but they will let you book your monthly appointments up to six months ahead, so you can be sure to reserve time with whomever you want. The price is right. I book for 1.5 hours, and that extra half hour makes all the difference, for less than another $30.00. I have been a member for over two years and plan to continue my membership. read more

THE BEST !!! Just when I was about to give up on trying several locations and tons of therapists I landed this place and found Mariah. If it wasn't for her I would have not wasted my money bouncing from place to place many of which NEVER have last min appts open and thier massage is average at best. Mariah not only found all the pressure points and worked on the trouble areas, the massage actually felt good and was enjoyable as her techniques are a perfect match to my needs and exactly what I like. RARE quality. I never have to ask her to NOT do something or to do anything differently. Not only is she the world's best massage therapist she also is the most knowledgable and educated. She seems to know so much more than anyone else can even imagine.
