I am extremely disappointed with Massage Addict Edmonton Northwest. I had a prepaid membership from 2022 to mid-2023, paying $90/month, and accumulated $756 in unused credits. On September 19, 2024, I was emailed confirmation that I could transfer my account and credits to another location. I completed and submitted the transfer form on September 30, 2024, but the company never responded and did not honor my transfer request. I was so busy with work that I didn't think about using the credits until yesterday, when I wanted to manage back pain. At that time, I was told my account "expired two years ago," and that I would not receive my credit, which is completely false. At no point was I informed that credits could expire, and no services have been rendered for the prepaid amount. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location and caution others considering prepaid memberships here read more

The reception service is terrible. Even though I was there before, they told me it was my first time. After they were told the date of my visit they found me in the system. The second thing, before making an appointment I insisted that the receptionist checked if my insurance covered massage, they took my card, ran it through the system and assured me it would work, but when I came they said the system doesn't see my insurance. I called my company afterwards and the response was that my insurance was good. The same happened during my first visit, it took them some time to handle the payment through my insurance. But when when with another company, everything worked. Very disappointing experience. read more

I do not recommend Massage Addict on 137ave and St.Albert trail! I asked the massage therapist mwhy she wasn't working out any of the knots she's finding in my back and she told me I have to buy 90 or 120 minutes before she will work on any of the knots. Never heard that one before. Should be able to work on at least a couple in a hour long massage not just back off the pressure and pretend it's not there! Such a waste of time and money! read more

Came in a couple months back when I couldn't get into my regular gal. All I wanted was for my neck & shoulders to be worked on but instead got a mediocre full body massage. And worst of all, I could hear the spin class through the vents from next door - not relaxing at all to hear an instructor yelling and the thump thump of the music. Every time I come here, I leave feeling happy and relaxed. There's nothing better than starting your week off with a wonderful massage. I always see Amanda when I go in, but my SO has had a couple different therapists and has enjoyed his massage from each one. Everyone makes comments about the membership, but keep in mind you don't have to sign up for it. I did because I have the coverage for it and I thoroughly enjoy going here. Sure it's a one year commitment, but who wouldn't want to commit to doing something nice for themselves once a month? I love Massage Addict and I am going to continue going! read more

Couldn't get into my regular person but woke up with terrible neck pain and needed someone to work it out. Came here and had a terrible massage, light rub of the back doesn't do anything and worked on parts that I said to not work on! Had no knowledge of the anatomy and showed no competency in knowing what feels like it needs work on it! Did not target my area I needed at all! It also was irritating listening to my massage person clear her throat every two secs and continue to cough throughout! I left more tense than when I came !!! I told the front t desk and felt like I was ripped off 80$ for a bad massage and no help with my neck pain! No compensation! I would not recommend Ritu for massage! read more

I've been going to Sarah for about four months now and I always leave feeling great! I've had massages at other places in the past that, while relaxing, didn't seem to get the job done. Sarah always makes sure to pay attention to the problem points on my back and has helped so much with painful areas recently. We also have a lot of interests and hobbies in common, so every time I go in, I get a massage AND a nice chat! I intend to go to Sarah for a massage every month for the foreseeable future. As for the business itself, it's clean, modern, and relaxing. Sometimes you can hear the music from World Health coming through the walls, but it's not something that bothers me. He doesn't introduce himself or ask me my name or how I am or what I want done, instead he says "are you thirsty a lot" "you should be checked for diabeties" Well person I've never met before, I have been checked. I am working with a nutritionist and losing weight every day. I respond "I have" and that's the ONLY thing he said to me the entire time. I love this place! Been here 3 times now with 3 different ladies and each time is amazing, my very last massage, literally 1 hour ago prompted my review here. Stephanie was amazing and her massage was the best I had ever gotten! Hit all the right spots and was amazing. Her personality also was super great, doesn't talk to much or too little and genuinely seems interested in what you have to say. Also big shout out to the receptionist here she is really a gem and really knows her stuff about insurance questions and is over all very pleasant! 10/10 would recommend. I've been here a few times, and even was roped into the membership; which I majorly regret. The first time I went in, I liked it and had a great message therapist..I've had 3 messages since and all of them have been awful. One of the message therapist was late. The next was sick and was coughing all over me and stopping to blow her nose, ick. And the last talked the whole way through about her issues with her baby daddies and how she hates being a message therapist! Wtf? And how she didn't like working there..so that was the straw that broke the camels back. I'm not going back; I do have a membership, but my credit card is now expired, so no more. I had booked for a service online and it had confirmed that my appointment was booked. However when I arrived the customer service representative indicated that it had not gone through. There were two individuals there at that time and neither of them try to rebook or attempt to find an alternate date or time. Okay so I am not sure why this place currently has a bad rap but I am here to set the record straight. First of all, the reception staff is super friendly in person and on the phone. That is a plus. Secondly, the atmosphere is great, calming music, relaxing colour scheme, good lighting and heated massage tables. Thirdly, I have been coming here for close to a year and I rotate through massage therapists a lot and I can tell you (except for one, ritu, who I didn't vibe with) they are all very awesome massage therapists. Fourth, they direct bill and have great prices with a membership (which doesn't cost anything) so if you have benefits that cover massage therapy then do yourself a favour and sign up here. I was in desperate need of a massage after sleeping funny in my hotel bed or on the plane. I came across Massage Addict online and booked an appointment right away for Sunday morning August 1st. The location is very clean and beautifully laid out. My masseuse did a great job of getting the kinks out of my neck and back and I'm no longer in pain. So what's the problem....? It is beyond unprofessional to have your cell phone with you while you're treating a patient. When someone goes to get a massage they are going to relax and have their pain issues worked out. Whenever I go, I usually fall asleep and in this particular situation the massage therapists phone rang 4 times at different points during the massage. After the first ring, she should've put it somewhere else. But, 4 times is unbelievable! So each time it rang, it was like getting jolted out of bed. Part of me just wanted to get up and leave because I was so annoyed, but I really needed to have my back fixed. This was supposed to be something relaxing for me as I'm on vacation. read more

I went in to try my introductory massage for 49.99..for relief of neck and shoulder issues..beautiful place, comfortable beds and rooms, BUT the worst massage I have ever had. 1. The therapist did not target the area I had requested be treated, in fact he never even touched it ! He repeated the same movements on my BACK the entire hour. 2. He used ONE hand for the entire treatment, doing the exact same movements for the whole hour. I have never had a one handed massage before and let me say, it has no value whatsoever. 3. He would NO be quiet ! The last 45 mins of the massage he spent talking about the tattoos on my back, then outlined in GREAT detail the tattoos he would like to get and described in great detail all the piercings he and his friends have, or would like to get. The concept of committing for 1 year is so helpful to me, it keeps me in check, my body it such a better place with a minimum a monthly massage. While the massage was good, I found it very disappointing that I'm paying $100 for a massage that is supposed to be 60 mins long but both times I've been, my massage hasn't started until 8:15 and the lady still stops at 9:00. Forms were sent in advance to me to fill out (by my request to minimize wait times while there) - receptionist "sent them to me" but didn't attach the document, I did fill them out and sent them days in advance, the receptionist didn't print them off, the massage therapist didn't go over the forms in advance as a result. I requested no Japanese mint oil due to hypersensitivity while pregnant - the room smelt very strongly of it and she used it repeatedly during her massage. I asked for extra padding in the arms, nothing about the bed was set up for a prenatal massage - IF YOU ARE PREGNANT DONT BOOK HERE - Again, No communication between the form and the massage therapist. She didn't even know I was pregnant, when I booked a prenatal massage.... apparently their was a form to be filled out to excuse her of any liability of working on me, which delayed us 15 minutes, yes 15 minutes, however despite claiming to be concerned, went on to use Japanese mint oil even though it hurt my stomach like crazy. Therapist was rude, most akward massage ever. I wont be returning. I hope the manager sees this because it was a team effort that brought about this review. read more

Always great service (reception and massage therapists)! There are a lot of massage therapists so last minute bookings (24 hours in advance usually) are possible. I have tried several massage therapists and have been happy with all of them. I go at least once a month so am thrilled with my membership and the price (69.99) for an hour. After all it was only $49.99 for the first visit. Am I glad I went in!! I had a massage therapist by the name of Apple...yes Apple!! who was incredible. I went in with tenseness in my shoulder and neck area and I left feeling like a million dollars. I have since gone back twice and tried two other therapists and both times have been really good as well. Well...I have to say... I had an experience here a few years back that turned me off of this place. I've recently been needing a massage and spoke to some friends about where they go. A good friend of mine recommended here as well as a couple specific therapists. I was a little surprised to hear him recommend this place based on my last experience. I told him about my last experience (which plays out much like a review or two I read here today), but his recommendation swayed me to try here again. I went into it open minded thinking/hoping that maybe my last experience was a one time kinda thing. Based on this experience, it very well could have been. I was booked with Leah this time and had one of the top five massages of my life. It was very relaxing and exactly what I was looking for/needed. It was great - from the pressure she applied, the troubled areas she found and worked on, her bedside manner and professionalism through to how much she spoke. I would not recommend Massage Addict North Edmonton. The therapists are really hit and miss and a lot of them don't stay for very long. One massage I had actually hurt me and I was in pain for days after. I tried addressing it with the owner/manager, but he insisted that it was the therapist's technique which I did not like that was the problem. Did you know that Alberta has very poor Massage Therapist Regulations? In B.C things are much better. They are messing with people's health! I am hoping that in the future things in this industry will change, but until then, Buyer Beware!!!! read more
