Dr. Lorber is not a dentist I would recommend. A family member saw him about a cracked tooth and he was referred to see another dentist for treatment. This was all because he didn't have the preferred type of insurance. My family member went to another dentist and the tooth is infected and requires a crown. Dr. Lorber refused to do a simple filling and claimed that I needed a root canal. He was ready to give me antibiotics stating that I would feel pain the next few days. 2 years later I finally decided to go somewhere else and got a filling, also I was told that he charged my insurance for a procedure that was never preformed. Horrible dentist. For the little stuff fine he's ok. I had a crown which he said was infected and sent me to another specialist to "check it out." When I go there I find out I need another root canal and I said no he said you would only look at it. So I ended up getting a second opinion turns out root Canal was not necessary and actually not recommended due to the fact that in my case it would not sold the problem. The other dentist said with another room canal it would solve this non issue 50/50 since I had it done 15 years ago and had zero pain. So it might be nothing and actually better not to touch unless there is pain. He would have messed me up don't go to him. read more

Mine is a somewhat mixed review. I've been with Maspeth Dental for approximately 3-4 years and the dentists are great! Lorber and Lefkowitz are the best. Crystal the receptionist and Mirely the assistant are great and friendly. Unfortunately my last few interactions with a newer receptionist has not been very customer friendly. I hate to knock the practice down but your business is represented by your front desk staff. Due to the negative customer service I will not be returning. read more

I really don't understand the bad reviews. I've been coming to Dr. Lorber for a of couple years now and I'm so happy to have finally found a dentist that I don't want to punch in the face. They staff is great and very friendly. Rooms are clean. Lorber makes his patients feel comfortable. Is there a wait sometimes?- Yeah, but when isn't there at a doctor/dentists office? I was fooled by the reviews that was posted on this google and was expecting a great experience for our whole family. For my first visit my appointment was 4:30pm and the receptionist asked me if I can come 15-20 mins earlier to fill out the forms so went in at 4:00pm. I was seen by the Dr after 6:00pm!!!! TWO HOURS of waiting time. After I was taken in was told to wait for the Dr again on the chair. I was being understanding and felt sorry for the DR and the understaffed at my first visit. The second appointment for my daughter again was told to come early. And had to wait 1hour and 30mins again for 2mins check up. The third visit with my son I had to Cancle and walk out because there was another patient complaining that she's been waiting for more then an hour. All throughout my 4hours of waiting time all I've seen the receptionists do was just gossip after patients after patients that's disgusting and very unprofessional. I was asking for estimate time of waiting because my time is precious also and after I was complaining that you can't have this kind of system everyday and she straight up laughed at my face and said there's nothing that she feels sorry about. But she is the one making the bookings so I don't know where the brains are? I picked this location because of the reviews and it was close. But maybe all the people who are getting great reviews all have connection and gets VIP fast track treatments? The team really needs to get some heads together and train the receptionist to be more productive and for them to be more respectful towards the patients. This dentist office is ridiculous. I made an appointment a month ago. Asked specifically if they accepted my insurance said they did. They are even on my insurances website and said it was in network. I arrived to the office on time and for the receptionist to tell me they don't accept my insurance and she doesn't know who told me they did and that I was misinformed. Yeah misinformed by the office that you work for. How about when you take people's appointment ask them for their full insurance details instead of waiting the day of, it's just common sense. read more

Dr. Lorber and his staff are very accommodating. i went in for a minor toothache, the nice assistant asked me where the pain was and how often. after she took my x-rays i didn't have to wait much longer for the Dr. he said i would need a cavity filling but i didn't have much time left to stay so they were able to work around my schedule, so i won't miss work. will be coming back here to have my cleaning and check up done!!! read more

I would not recommend Dr. Mark D. Lorber to anybody. Unfortunately, I visited him too many times to find out the real kind of services he provides. He frustrates easily. In my experiences, he adopted a rude tone because I questioned him about the job he was about to do and his procedures. Then he was rude and offensive about his methods. Sadly but true Dr. Lorber has no patience, nor the kindness to speak to a patients about his or hers options. One of the worse experience I've received from a called Doctor. Dr Lorber saved me! I had an emergency situation on a Sunday, a friend suggested I call Maspeth Dental. They told me to come in right away and saw me ON SUNDAY. I walked in to the office in excruciating pain, so I'm sure I wasn't the nicest patient they've seen. The office staff and Dr. Lorber could not have been more caring, understanding and professional. By that evening the pain was a distant memory and I was able to go back to work on Monday. These guys are great, they don't keep bankers hours so you can get appointments evenings and Sundays. I left feeling confident in his method even when i left he didnt prescribe any meds.I wasnt in pain until that night.I had to call the service which took them about 30 minutes to call back.He gave me Motrin and an antibiotic.The pain did not stop.Now through all this i have work.After work i had to go to the ER for the pain bc Motrin was not cutting it.I'm having extensive work done.Motrin is not helping.I called him again, all he had to say was that antibiotics will help with pain.IS HE INSANE! read more

When I moved to a different location and had to look for a different dentist close by, i had a very bad experience, I decided to rather make a longer trip but stick to Dr. Lorber's expertise instead. Zero stars. They don't care for their patients but money. Each time I booked an appointment and I was there 15 min prior to scheduled time I had to wait minimum of hour and a half! Record time I was there for 3 hours before I was taken. I understand dentists take emergency patients, but my appointment was delayed by hours every single time I was in that office! Dr advised that I need a crown on my tooth so I went ahead and scheduled treatment and paid 1000$ as my insurance would cover much. He put a crown over a tooth that didn't have root canals checked or treated. I was complaining about pain while wearing a temporary crown, but they ignored it and said it had to be that way. He put a permanent crown and then I kept experiencing pain. 5 months later I developed extremely bad root canal infection my face got twice its size from swelling. It was the worst pain I ever experienced. I didn't not want to risk going to that office again and opted to see another doctor recommended by a friend. Had to take antibiotics and took almost 3 weeks to make infection go away. I lost a brand new crown as they had to drill through it and spend few more hundreds on saving that tooth. As I found out from other doctor, they should have never put a crown over a tooth that root canal wasn't treated.... do your research before putting your health in Maspeth Dental care. All they do is over book and rush just to collect the most money. read more

Look, few enjoy going to the dentist. I have spent most of my adult life in a dentists office. I am VERY comfortable with Dr. Mark Lorber and his staff. They are very accomodating and always address my concerns. The business section of the office is over run with paperwork. Most doctors offices are these days!!!!The exam rooms and equipment are all steri shielded. Dr. Lorber offers the latest techniques and is very thorough and calm in demeanor. He addresses all your concerns and some you might not think of. He works efficiently and has a good touch. His assistants are the same. His Sunday hours are priceless. Parking is conventient. After 10 years and being a Doctor myself with a father as a Dentist, I should know. Highly recommend.Put on a smile and make an appointment. read more

I am only leaving one star because I can't leave zero. This "dentist's office" is a money making scheme. I went in to this office after not visiting a dentist for two years, Dr. Lorber told me that I had 12(!) cavities. I was shocked but I trusted him. I came back two weeks later to have 3 filled. It went fine but it took a long time as the place was crowded. Three days later one filling popped out, it was small. I went back in to have it filled and waited about 2 hours for him to come in and out and fill it. I was upset because he had to drill more healthy teeth to place in the new filling. At this point the top right part of my mouth was in pain and severely sensitive. I decided I wanted a second opinion and in two weeks I saw a new dentist in a new location. He said that I have ZERO cavities. I was so shocked and disgusted at what Maspeth Dental had done. Do not go here, they will drill holes in your mouth to make money!!! read more

The first time I went to this dentist, some of the staff was nice. I didn't like that the dentist insulting me about not brushing my teeth. I brush my teeth everyday, but I guess not good enough. An x-ray was taken and I was prescribed a rinse for my mouth cause I had swollen gums. A week later I was experiencing tremendous pain. I called the office for an emergency appointment. The dentist saw me and the assistant tried to do x-rays but I couldn't open my mouth wide enough. The dentist then told me they lost my x-rays from before. He prescribed meds for what is now a mouth infection. A couple of days later I was in the emergency room cause my mouth swelled up. I was in tremendous pain. I couldn't eat or sleep. I was sent to the dental clinic the next day. They did x-rays with a special machine and did a partial root canal. I would not recommend this dentist cause they lost my x-rays and one of the staff members called me days after I was in the dental clinic to ask me if I wanted a cleaning. I told her I went to the emergency room, then the dental clinic. She told me I couldn't go there anymore because I had a partial root canal at the dental clinic. After she told me that and the way I felt after being at this office, leaving there with pain and them losing my x-rays IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I COME BACK TO THIS OFFICE.. It is a shame cause some of the staff was nice, but one staff member needs to be fired. She is driving patients away. read more

After being referred by a friend, I went to Dr. Lorber's office for the first time. From the outside it looks very deceiving. One does not realize how big the office is. When I got inside, the office staff was extremely welcoming and compassionate. I was seen right away, no wait time at all. This definitely relieved some of my anxiety that I was feeling - I have not been to a dentist for some time since I am normally terrified. The office was very modern and very clean which I liked. I was then brought in to see the dentist. He introduced himself and made me feel at ease. After an exam was done, we discussed different treatment options which made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Lorber then explained each step of the procedure that will be done. The hygienist then cleaned my teeth which turned out to be the best cleaning I have ever had. My teeth have never been so clean. Thank you Dr. Lorber and staff. I am now looking forward to my next visit. read more
