It makes me sad when someone posts a negative review about this place simply because they did not want to pay for their services. I have been a customer of the new owner for 5 years now (along with 5 other close friends) and have never heard of any of her clients being unpleased or dissatisfied. The owner goes above and beyond to give discounts and please her clients to the fullest. I have always loved having my nails done with the new owner! She is very professional, hygienic, and a true nail artist. I especially love their color powder options! Their massage chairs are brand new and the atmosphere is super soothing! They offer wine, soft drinks and water. Regardless of all the extras offered, I always love the quality and look of my nails when I leave this place! Love this place and the new owner! read more

Prices are good but to have my manicure removed and do a basic color took about two hours...and they left me sitting for half an hour. I felt like the person I got didn't know what they were doing. I won't be coming back. read more

Edit: To imply that someone would post a negative review to get out of payment of $27 is absurd and ill informed of all of the facts. This review is to warn about possible injury. I overlooked two gapping wounds in my toes and returned out of loyalty and it happened again. Since posting this review have had a multiple friends say that they have also stopped patronizing Mason Nails recently. Review: I have been a customer for many years. My last two pedicures have ended with with the skin around my toes cut out. There were and are holes left in my toe. The first time, I was reimbursed and told them I would come back because this was a single incident. Today, it happened again. I asked for them to not paint the toes in question to avoid infection, so I had to leave with an incomplete pedicure. The manager clearly sees the visible hole, yet follows me to my car saying that it is not bleeding and not to write a review about this. She was more concerned about her reputation than providing safe and good service. read more

** New Management** A+**** Went there today for a full set and pedicure. The place is under new management and Wow what a change . The place was nice before but now it's so nice and clean, so clean you could eat of the floor . The atmosphere is peaceful and serene , such a wonderful place. Jade did my nails and eye brows, Ann did my pedicure . They were wonderful , I was beyond pleased with the service . The customer service was excellent! I would recommend this place over and over . Love this place!! Call for an appointment and you will fall in love! They take their time with each service and it is a very relaxing environment. They have plenty of colors to choose from, popular brands, and LOTS of shellac colors. They also have matching regular polish if you want your toes to match your shellac hands. I came to Yelp, as I always do, to find the best mani/pedi place in Katy and was drawn to the ratings on Mason Nails because of the consistent 5 star reviews. As I read the reviews, it sounded exactly like what I was looking for: Consistency in service, pampered treatment, not being rushed out the door, quiet and serene with reasonable prices and close to home. I was thrilled to find out Mason Nails is on the same street as my home! I was MORE than pleased with the services. I called and made an appointment, arrived on time and was seated in a LUXURIOUS self-massaging chair. After a fantastic foot spa treatment, a 2nd lady came and started working on my hands. I felt like a princess, having two women work on me at once! It was face really nice. The music is wonderful, the place is quiet and clean and spacious. There wasn't a lot of chatter, which is a huge turn off when I'm spending money on myself and need some pampering. The parafin treatment was, oh wow, just fantastic. The sugar scrub on the legs up to the knee was awesome and the lady (name started with a "k", wish I could remember it) really took her time massaging my legs and feet. I laid my head back and kept my eyes closed almost the whole time, until I felt something on my legs like warm lotion that cooled quickly and I looked down to see the hot stone treatment, what an amazing sensation!!! I was there about 90 minutes, they really take their time and I tipped them REALLY well. Don't waste your time somewhere else unless you WANT a gossip hole with phones ringing and a lot of commotion. I was not impressed at all with this place. I called for an appointment and when I finally was serviced the gentleman did an awful job. Just sloppy work and no care of the services. (not brushing off the dust. sloppy filing and not paying attention to what he was doing). He was more concerned with chatting with one of their regular customers and that's great but when you're building your business each customer should be looked at as a potential regular customer. The salon is very outdated and not upscale at all. Extremely overpriced for the quality provided. read more

I don't live in Katy anymore, but my parents do. When ever I visit my Mom likes to do pedicures. I found this place on Yelp and I am so happy I did. My feet have never looked better. Lee worked on my feet well longer than the hour I paid for. It will be nearly 4 weeks this weekend since I had a pedicure from Mason Nails and the paint and cut is still perfect. If you live out in the Katy or West Houston area its worth the trip. The prices are really reasonable. I recommend getting the pedicure that lasts an hour and has the hot rock treatment and massage, it is AMAZING. read more

This place is horrible! Stay away! I wasted over 3 hours trying to get a shellac manicure and pedicure (with an appointment). The shellac was done so poorly it began to wrinkle after the first coat. I asked the manicurist to remove this and she did not want to and proceeded to get an attitude. The owner had to come over to agree there was no salvaging her work and apologize on her behalf. She said she would redo them but I had already been there over 3 hours. I was told I could come back during the week and she would personally fix; however when I came back she told me she was busy. Not worth the money for the service and time. There are nail shops on every corner. I would suggest trying any other location. read more

Second visit here and will be the last. The shellac lasts minimum one week. I work in my garden and constantly working with my hands and usually I get away with 2 weeks if not longer before I have to go in again bc usually the nails have grown out so much. The last time I was here the nail tech had to ask for assistance from another tech to clean up the horrible paint on my nails. I was in such a rush I left and when I got home noticed the polish was completely uneven on over half the nails, including smudge marks. A couple days later I had 4 nails inflamed and red and most nails had skin coming up from the horrible cuticle clipping. I went on vacation the next day and not even 3 days later the shellac was coming up on several of the nails and not even 1 week later I was able to easily peel off all the shellac from every nail. Vivian did my spa pedicure and she did a wonderful job. She was very sweet and her massage felt great! The overall atmosphere was a little more relaxing than most nail salons, so I was able to lay back and enjoy. She also did my eyebrow wax and was quick, yet thorough. BEST pedi's ANYWHERE! I've had pedicures done everywhere and no one beats Mason nails and the price is fabulous. I've brought co-workers who were visiting from Canada and London and hands down, they've never had it better and go everytime they are in town. They do not rush you, BUT make an appointment. They do not make you sit there and tell you it'll be 5 minutes (when it's really 30 minutes); if they do not have an opening, they let you know. read more

After I made an appointment, I really liked Mason nails. I first tried as a walk in but that didn't work. I understand the other reviews about feeling weird when you walk in. I spoke to Kayla about this after a few visits. She really didn't know that her approach was offensive. She was the best at Shellac. The pedi's...eeh, they were ok. Now, Kayla has apparently left the salon. I don't know exactly what happened. I was originally told that she owned the salon. I think she may have sold it. She told me that she was opening another salon off Spring Green however, I thought she meant an additional salon, not leaving Mason. I saw a new chic come in about two months ago and I tried to ask Kayla how her new place was coming along. She hushed be quickly as though she couldn't talk about it. I got the hint but by the next time I came in (2 weeks later) Kayla was gone. They acted like they had no clue who she was, where she went. Weird.
