They offer American and English beers, too, but come on, this is a German beer bar. When in Rome, er, Berlin, drink what the natives drink. I was greatly impressed by the six or seven non-alcoholic selections. We tried a non-alcoholic Belgian that was very nice. Apparently, you can sometimes get German food from a window around the side of the bar but the cook was AWOL during our visit, which was honestly a major disappointment. Like many people, I need some kind of food or snack to keep me going while I am imbibing. Nevertheless, the beers and atmosphere here were excellent. 21 and up only, although dogs of all ages are welcome.

But onto the beer review and what we had here. We had the Moral Codes which is a Double/Imperial IPA. I sometimes don't always have the best enthusiasm for IPA's but this one is very good. It is lively, vibrant, memorable and bitter... as many good IPA'S are (and some so so ones too). Additional flavor features in this beer are citrus, juniper, a natural sweetness and a very strong presence. As I said I have had beers from this brewery before and was impressed before and that continues with our most recent experience. Very good beer and this location is fun to enjoy their libacial enhancements at!

PP definitely features some bold brews like triple IPAs and bourbon barrel-aged imperial stouts. If you prefer more crushable beverages, they also serve pilsner, blonde ale, and pale ale. Our experience with him at Neighborhood was really the beginning of us falling in love with CH Projects as a whole. When I think about why we keep coming back, people like Frank are a huge part of that. And the food has stayed so consistently good. The Hood Burger, bone marrow, bolognese, burrata, pierogies, bloomin' onion... at this point, I'm practically listing the menu. In all the years we've been coming here, I honestly can't think of a bad dish we've had. It's one of our favorite places to work into a night out because we know we're going to eat well and enjoy being there. On our latest visit, Drew reminded me of exactly how we felt when we first came here and met Frank. He was so kind, patient, and hospitable, and he made our experience every bit as memorable. Years later, getting that same level of care means a lot. While we were waiting for our food, I also noticed some guests being unnecessarily rude to the staff, especially Drew. He kept his composure and stayed professional throughout it, even when people weren't giving him the same respect he was giving them. That made me appreciate him even more and want to take the time to give him the recognition he deserves. Drew, thank you for taking such good care of us. Honestly, this is how a night out should work. No rigid itinerary. Just good people, fries, cocktails and one more stop because nobody was ready to go home yet.

We ordered a couple of pizzas for the table and everything was fantastic. The woodfired pizza was different from most other places downtown, and you could taste the freshness of all the ingredients. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the ambience is exactly what you would want from downtown San Diego especially being across from Petco Park. The weight staff were also very friendly and knowledgeable and everything came out extremely quickly considering how busy they were.
