The menu is quite comprehensive, with pictures to help the dish discription (to be honest, most of the dishes looked the same in the photos). All seem to come with rice and salad. There menu features a full range of Persian dishes. These include a wide selection of grilled dishes such as kebabs, as well as stews and other authentic Iranian rice dishes. Many vegetarian options are also available. I went for the grilled Chicken Shish Kabab, which was charcoal grilled chunks of chicken with grilled onions, green peppers and grilled tomato. This also came with the salad and rice. The portion was huge. If we had known how much you were given, we might have gone for one dish between us and share it. I was given a box to take home to finish the rest of my meal. There is a limited selection of wines available, but at £12 a bottle I was expecting wine near to viniger, but it was actually not bad. Pars also has a nice atmosphere. There seemed to be a few Iranians dining, which I would take as a good endorsement. I also used my tastecard which gave us 50% off the food bill. So at a meal for two coming to £26 including a bottle of wine and service, it was really good value. I plan to come back, but will make sure it is when I'm super starving!

If you didn't know better, you might think you have been transported to Persia (present day Iran). The extensive menu features chicken and lamb as the predominant protein variety. We had to sample as much as possible by ordering the Pars Special Mixed Grill, with an assortment of meat and accompaniments that easily fed three big eaters. Lamb is rumored to be Par's specialty, but the chicken is equally delicious. The fish is also very good, but be aware that fish of all varieties are seasoned and pan fried whole. Pars does not serve alcohol due to London's expensive liquor license, but they do allow you to bring your own for consumption. If you rather not tote your own beverage, I highly recommend Pars's Persian tea, served in traditional tea pots and delicate painted glasses. The tea was so divine that I broke my "no caffeine" rule and had a total of six glasses, completely ruining all hopes of adjusting to my jet lag. In addition to indoor seating on benches decorated with Persian rugs and mats, Pars also have an outdoor patio. There was a private party on the patio the evening we dined there, so we were unable to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Nevertheless, we enjoy the merry-making and traditional dancing along with our jolly good meal. Pars's patrons appear to frequent the restaurant since the proprietor knows a large number of customers. The hospitality is first rate for London standards, although a bit lacking when compared to the United States. Either way, worth a visit.

After asking what we feel like eating as there are many good restaurants in the hood, we settle for Persian and they walked us to the restaurant and asked the "uncles" to take care of us. We ordered the small plain bread (it's huge and enough for 3-4 people), hummus (so smooth and with a light touch of garlic), grilled lamb pieces with half rice and half salad (perfectly grilled and seasoned so well) and grilled whole fish (so huge and the meat was so moist). Needless to say, we gobbled the main dishes up quickly as it was so delicious but couldn't finish the bread as we were stuffed. Dinner for two was ￡35 which is a great deal in London. The restaurant has two levels and the open kitchen is on the main level. Seating for about 20 people so it's a little place. We noticed many people did take out. Open kitchen and large grill in the front with some of the meats and vegetable dishes on display - all looking mouth wateringly good. It's also clean, bright and well organised and everyone is busy and active. Needoo serves Punjabi cuisine (Pakastani & Indian). Dishes sampled last night included: - Mixed veg Allo gobi with meltingly soft aubergine, pepper, cauliflower, potato with a delicate slightly smoky flavour. - Meat biryani: slow cooked, fragrant, tender. - Baby chicken masala: perfect spicing and flavours with tender tasty chicken. - Lahori chana (chick peas) which were also meltingly soft and delicious with smoky galicky and spice flavours. Even the zeera rice (with cumin seeds) was full of flavour. - Complimentary salad for the table and papodoms at the start. On previous visits I have also tried the lamb chops which arrive on a sizzling iron platter emitting spicy chilli smoke that was pretty potent. The lamb chops were probably just as good as the legendary Tayyabs, just around the corner. Actually, I think the food in general at Needoo was a touch better than Tayyabs (have only been to Tayyabs once but felt a bit like being on a conveyor belt). Only possible downside I can think of is that some of the dishes can be a bit oily but not sure this is a real downside since it probably wouldn't be the same otherwise. This isn't a diet destination. A TV showing Bollywood MTV and proper air conditioning add to the unpretentious ambience. It can get busy at peak times but if you go early there's no wait. Great, efficient service too. It's BYOB which is good (just remember beforehand since there aren't too many places to buy beer in the immediate vicinity). So 5 stars for all round excellent food, service and great value.
