    Chicken in yogurt

This place was great! This was our first time having Afghan food so I cannot speak to how authentic it was but what I can say is it was delicious. I had the chicken and my dad had the lamb with spinach, which he said he enjoyed. The chicken was so tender and in this almost pesto style yogurt with hints of lemon. It was very mildly spicy. Be sure to get bread to sop up the extra sauce because you'll definitely want to! Also, every dish was under £10, which is fantastic! Just proves that cheap food absolutely does not mean bad food.

Super simple. Super yummy. Definitely going back! We had the spinach with lamb, chicken in yoghurt, sweet potatoes and bread. Favourite was the chicken as it was super tender, but everything was deliciously. However when I go back I will order rice and not the bread as my friend and I felt the bread was a little bit hard and we felt rice would've been better to soak up all of the yummy sauces. Oh, and we finished off with the baghlava...also yummy and nutty.

My first attempt at Afghan food, and I wasn't disappointed. This is a tiny place with little to none ambience, but the pre-cooked food (it's in a showcase so you can have a look before you order) is very tasty and not unlike Pakistani food, and yet a little different. The dishes I had weren't too spicy, so if you like it hot order the pickles on the side - they have a bit more kick! The chicken in yoghurt was very nice, and the pumpkin a must have from my perspective - they use "spaghetti pumpkins" (you'll see what I mean) with a pleasant sweetness and interesting texture - excellent. Unfortunately the fresh bread wasn't available, but the rice wasn't bad either. Certainly worth a visit!

Here's what we ordered and enjoyed most: Thyme kellaj: crisp, filled with delish zaatar, perfect for me Hummus: creamy dream, perfectly balanced Labneh: thick, creamy, dreamy. Chicken Fallouj: huge portion. Perfectly cooked, no dryness and full of flavor. Went very well with the labneh. Falafel: crispy, BIG, but not as big on the flavor as I was expecting. Did like that it came with a tahini sauce and pickled turnips which cut the heaviness. Actually wouldn't get again because the other items filled me right up. The only "miss" of the meal for me. Passion fruit martini is a MUST get for you fruity drink people. Really tasted like passion fruit. The old fashioned is a miss for my husband -- he couldn't explain why but he just wasn't into it. Please note that this restaurant is in a smaller space so you probably would need a reservation on weekends.

The beans (foul) were my favorite. The baba ganoush lacked the smoky flavor that I usually love about it. But everything else was tasty and hit the spot after a day of playing tourist in London. Service was swift and nice. I would certainly come back again.

I have had Afghani food before and always really enjoyed it so was looking forward to trying a new restaurant. The atmosphere when you enter is very warm and calm, with beautiful decorations and lighting on the walls, and the service was courteous and professional. However, it was the food which will lead us to return to this place. The rice dishes were outstanding... with one vegetarian in our group, we had the rice with spinach but we also tried the rice with lamb. Both were excellent. The lamb was very tender in all our lamb dishes (we had three different ones) and the dumplings and starter pastries filled with leek and potato, which we have never tried before, were delicious. This is a great place for groups of friends to have a nice meal at good prices and whilst they don't have a license to serve alcohol, they do allow you to bring your own drink and there is even an off licence next door if needed. There is also parking directly outside the restaurant and also on nearby side streets. Having had a lovely, relaxing time at this place, combined with delicious food and good value prices...we will be back.
