No lie, I've been eating Gobblers from Mary's Kitchen Port since I was....12. True story. My middle school was about 5 blocks from this stretch of Front Street...and thus, on the special occasion that my mum picked me up from school, we stopped here for these illustrious turkey sandwiches, raspberry lemonades and a sweet treat to top things off. Mmmmmm. So, it seemed fitting that my guy pal and I would revisit on a recent trek between TC and SB. Ah yes...MARY! There is something about MARY! And, it is the Gobbler. I still hold that the reason this sandwich is so darned fantastic is the salt on the upper crust. I don't know why but there is something about all the semi-sweet ingredients (fresh bread, tomatoes, turkey) that are punctuated with coarse salt that makes it just...Excellent. Funnily enough, I never even realized that Mary's Kitchen Port was....more than just a take away food destination. Maybe my young eyes never realized that any kitchen gadget in the world existed here. Actually, probably would'nt have noticed this time either because that portion of my brain never developed (culinary/cooking), but my boyfriend did point out the vast selection of instruments. "Good on ya, get me a Gobbler, fool!" And thus we did...scooped up two gobblers, some pesto salad, raspberry lemonade and a blondie fudge bar (UM, hello)....$20, out the door, to the beach for a picnic down tastebud memory lane. 4-stars for selection: They do what they do and they do it quite well, but the selection of sandwiches is somewhat limited. There were about 40 Gobblers ready to go, and an Italian sandwich or two, but that was roughly it. I'm not sure if one can order at the counter or not...prepared salads were tasty, and there was a better selection. Also meats and cheeses and an entire truffle case on the opposite side that I managed to stay away from....next time! A must in TC for lunch and a picnic.

Pickings were slim like last time, I think the fresh made food runs out pretty quick.

Best sandwiches in town. My husband and I love the Cherry Turkey Salad. Great place to visit in the summertime!

Great sandwiches and side options! Getting a little more pricey over the years but still is worth stopping in.

Oryana Community Co-op is hands-down my favorite place to stop in Traverse City for a vegan meal,…read morewhether it's breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee. Oryana is truly a vegan haven. Not only do they have an amazing selection of grab-and-go items, but their made-to-order options are equally impressive. Their vegan dill wrap is one of my favorites and packed with flavor. I also love their prepared tofu slices, especially the curry and smoked varieties. Most recently, I tried the peanut tofu wrap and it was absolutely out of this world, incredibly flavorful, satisfying, and very filling. They also have fantastic options on the hot bar. One standout for me is the vegan breakfast burrito. It's only around $4, surprisingly filling, and loaded with flavor. A little messy to eat, but completely worth it! If you're vegan and visiting Traverse City, Oryana is an absolute must-visit.

This store is absolutely incredible. It's a medium-sized store but it has so much to offer and I enjoyed it it doesn't feel like on the side a big box grocery store. This store is unique and many ways and the prices on all your grocery items are actually very fair. You can expect to find hard to find vegan items, a great selection of Health Products your bathroom or just everyday life. The cafe and the little dining room in the back is such a great touch to the store. The soup selection is awesome incredible awesome featuring some vegan items. Great selection of alcoholic beverages as well! I also visited it's sister store only a couple of miles away and it's just as good but I feel like this location has a slight Edge over it. Highly recommend checking out this store if you're in the area or are vacationing like myself.

As you enter you will encounter all things cherry as there are many different foods, drinks, and other items for purchase. It may feel a little overwhelming with the amount of things in the store! My family and I got to enjoy various samples of all things cherry, my favorite being the cherry gummy bears. We headed over to the wine counter in which we did two wine tastings for $1 each. The staff member who served us was knowledgeable and informative. Both of the wines I got were delicious! Overall we had a great experience and would encourage anyone to make this a stop while visiting the downtown Traverse City shops!
